Chapter 2: Looks Like an Idiot and Looks Delicious!

6 min read1,436 words

Amidst the cherry blossoms dancing in the wind, Misaki opened the old diary and read the words of promise written there.

As the vice-principal of Suzaku High School, Lu Chaoge was indeed too young and too beautiful. She graduated from an Ivy League university in the United States and stayed in New York to teach at the best high school, Townsend Harris. Her bold and varied teaching style made her extremely famous in the American high school community.

It is said that the principal of Suzaku High School visited her three times before she agreed to return from the United States to serve as the school's vice-principal.

Lu Chaoge fell in love with flower arranging while studying, finding it the most beautiful thing in the world. The 'Heavenly Staircase' was a masterpiece she created after many failures, into which she poured countless efforts and emotions.

Now, her most beloved and proudest artwork had been deliberately destroyed, and Lu Chaoge naturally erupted like a volcano, unable to accept it.

After shouting, "What are you doing?" she quickly rushed toward the direction where Fang Yan was.

Halfway through, she realized the implications of his response, "No," which was extremely vulgar and suggestive.

Such a person—how could such a person be in her office? What were the people in the secretary's office doing?

"Stop right now," Lu Chaoge felt her entire being was about to burst into flames. If she could transform into Ultraman, she would send this shameless and despicable criminal to outer space to fall in love with aliens, then write a script called "The Jerk from Earth" based on his love story with aliens, and broadcast it on alien TV, ensuring it would be a huge hit.

Fang Yan stopped.

He turned to look at the incredibly beautiful woman charging at him, immediately assuming a defensive posture and said, "Let's talk it out, don't be impulsive—-even if you are, you can't beat me."

Lu Chaoge really didn't dare to charge forward.

Not because she wanted to "talk it out" with this man, but because the bastard was waving a gleaming pair of scissors.

A wise man doesn't suffer a loss in front of him, and a wise woman fears thugs and gays.

Lu Chaoge retreated to the office door and shouted, "Someone—-security, come here."

Thump, thump, thump—

The office director, Zheng Jing, quickly ran over, blocking Lu Chaoge with his ball-like body, pointing at Fang Yan and shouting, "What are you doing? Fang Yan, what are you doing? If you have any issues, come at me, don't hurt Principal Lu."

Come at me?

Looking at his purple-red, puffed-up face and the layer of oil on his thick, fatty body, Fang Yan rejected the idea in his heart: You wish!

"I'm just helping to trim these flowers," Fang Yan said with a shy smile, pointing to the 'Heavenly Staircase' he had trimmed, looking like a noble person who does good deeds without seeking recognition. "I was just passing the time."

Lu Chaoge was almost in tears with anger.

These are not just flowers; they are flower arrangements, works of art.

Do you need to trim them? Can ordinary people trim them?

However, from their conversation, it seemed that Zheng Jing knew this rascal.

Fang Yan? Isn't he the new teacher I'm supposed to meet?

"Fang Yan?" Lu Chaoge looked at Fang Yan as if he were a monster. Would such a person mislead students if he became a teacher?

No, this matter needs to be handled carefully.

If this guy lacks real talent, no matter who recommended him, she would keep him out. As the vice-principal of Suzaku High School, she had to be responsible for the school and the students.

"Fang Yan, this is our Principal Lu," Zheng Jing introduced, seeing that Fang Yan still held the scissors, he scolded, "Put down the knife. What are you doing with that knife? Trying to scare someone? I'm here, you won't touch a single—-hair of Principal Lu."

"I'm not a barber, why would I touch Principal Lu's hair?" Fang Yan explained. "Besides, what I'm holding is not a knife, it's a pair of scissors."

A knife and a pair of scissors are two different things, and the consequences of being held responsible for them are vastly different.

While speaking, Fang Yan obediently turned and put the scissors back on the windowsill.

With the scissors back in place, the danger was averted.

Lu Chaoge quickly walked to the vase and pointed to her 'Heavenly Staircase,' asking, "Who gave you permission to touch it? Without permission, how can you touch someone else's things? Do you have any manners? Do you have any sense of propriety?"

"It was art that made me touch them," Fang Yan explained.

"What?" Lu Chaoge widened her already large eyes. Who is art? Is there such a person in the school? What right does she have to let someone touch my flower arrangement?

"It was the artistic heart, the pursuit of beauty, that made me unable to resist, that made me touch them," Fang Yan looked at Lu Chaoge with sincerity. "It was the refinement and perfection of the work, the intuitive understanding of our shared interests—"

Heaven and earth, looking at his clear and serious expression, and his deep and determined eyes, Lu Chaoge almost felt convinced.

"Surely it must be so," such a voice appeared in her heart.

Unfortunately, Lu Chaoge was still Lu Chaoge. She was the queen of education in American high schools, the vice-principal of Suzaku High School. She had seen more men than Fang Yan—how could she be swayed by such a low-level flattery that could only deceive young girls?

"No need," Lu Chaoge waved her arm forcefully, cutting off the conversation. "Without my permission, what right do you have to touch someone else's things? Who gave you that right?"

"I've already explained," Fang Yan said with an innocent look.

"Artistic heart? Unable to resist?" It was better not to mention this reason. Mentioning it only made Lu Chaoge angrier. "Do I look like an idiot?"

"No, no," Fang Yan quickly denied. "You look very delicious."

"——"

Lu Chaoge was stunned.

Is this kid flirting with me? Is he hitting on me?

Zheng Jing was also stunned.

What is this guy doing? How can he speak to the principal like this?

He—-doesn't he know that Principal Lu is known for her stern and cold demeanor, called the 'Ice Queen'?

Zheng Jing decided to fulfill his duty as the deputy director of the office, quickly rolling to Fang Yan's front, pointing at him and shouting, "Fang Yan, what are you saying? Apologize to Principal Lu."

"Apologize? Why?" Fang Yan felt wronged. "Do you think Principal Lu is not delicious?"

"Of course not—-" Zheng Jing promptly closed his mouth. Principal Lu is indeed delicious, but even if she is—-we can't eat her.

Why am I discussing this with you? Can such a topic be discussed in front of Principal Lu?

"I think she is delicious, but I can't blame you. Everyone has different tastes. I think Principal Lu is great, tall, long legs, beautiful face. If we use the standard evaluation, out of 100 points, I would give her 101 points—-she surpasses my previous understanding and definition of beauty."

"I didn't say Principal Lu is not delicious—" Zheng Jing quickly explained.

Seeing Lu Chaoge's cold gaze sweep over him, Zheng Jing was drenched in sweat and quickly shifted the blame, pointing at Fang Yan and shouting, "Fang Yan, what attitude is this? How do you speak to your superiors? Do you still want to be a teacher at Suzaku High School? I've never seen such an unqualified applicant. A person like you wants to be a teacher? Dream on. Get out, get out of here."

Fang Yan shrugged, looking at Lu Chaoge and said, "Sorry, I was indeed too presumptuous. But—if you truly love flower arranging, you should understand this feeling."

Fang Yan then looked at Zheng Jing and said, "When I grow to be as well-built as you, I will definitely roll myself into a ball."

"You—-" Zheng Jing was about to explode.

"Looks like I failed the interview?" Fang Yan shrugged, smiling, and walked toward the door.

"Don't go," Lu Chaoge's eyes were fixed on the 'Heavenly Staircase' that Fang Yan had trimmed, and she shouted loudly.
