“Oh, my God. Damn Bishop.”
A dimly lit prison room.
It was there, transformed into a luxurious living space, where Heidemarie, as usual, was playing chess.
However, unusually, her opponent was not Gilbert.
A young man with brown hair, a little over thirty, was sinking his back into the excellent sofa.
He had hazel eyes and a wry mouth.
When he smiled, he looked like a boy in the midst of mischief.
“Don’t think we’re going to be under your power forever, Marie.”
“Shit. Horst’s so greedy, even when it comes to winning games.”
The one who shrugged his shoulders at the sulking Heidemarie was nicknamed [Greed] by his friends – Horst Engler.
He was captured in a place where he bought slaves and criminals from his childhood and repeatedly experimented on them. Hence, it seemed that he has a clear mind, and he was relentlessly hunting down the undefeated Heidemarie.
“Oh, dear. A knight in distress, or even my little Black Queen.”
“…… I’m sure you’ve noticed that if you didn’t care about that queen’s standing, you could have won easily, right?”
“That would be so boring.”
” What’s more important in chess than winning?”
“Aesthetics aren’t really an issue for a covetous little boy.”
Heidemarie, who said that in a bewitching manner, had a power that no ordinary man could compete with.
Perhaps in frustration, Horst held up his hands, “Yes, yes,” he said.
“I don’t know what you are thinking. I don’t know what cruel mother would do this to get rid of her beautiful daughter so easily.”
“Hey.”
Heidemarie, who had been thinking with a slender finger to her lips, suddenly raised her gaze at the words.
Then she narrowed her eyes like a cat.
“I knew you were sulking. You’ve been cooped up in the lab for a while because you didn’t want to talk to me?”
“Bad?”
“No. Cute.”
It was very nice to have an older brother who takes care of his sister.
The phrases spun by his perfectly shaped lips sounded as sweet as sugar candy.
Horst Engler.
Also known as Dr. Crazy.
Born from the concubine of a wealthy merchant family, he was famous for being a psychopath who used his wealth and brains to conduct a series of human experiments.
But few knew that the experiments were motivated by his sister, who was attacked by a thug and left in a coma.
The sister was kidnapped and destroyed when he took his eyes off her for a bit.
He used a combination of barely circulating magical stones at the time and a proprietary medical technique to keep the heart pumping. He opened other people’s skulls incessantly to explore the function of the brain, which controls consciousness.
An act that could have been done as a doctor, and if the subject was only the dead or the guilty, it might have been tolerated.
However, Horst’s many experiments were branded as “crimes” when he found the man who once attacked his sister and operated the man’s brain because he was of high status.
In his case, he could have escaped if he wanted to.
Using the power of money or advanced medical technology, he secretly accumulated as a bargaining chip.
But he didn’t.
Because one day, just like that, his sister died with the life span of the magical stone.
He didn’t need anything else.
A bright future or even life.
That’s how he was tethered to this prison without even taking water, and then one-day, Heidemarie spoke to him.
“–Really? Are you saying that you once violated God’s domain and wanted knowledge and life, and you let your greed burn out?”
Heidemarie grabbed Horst’s arm, who was silent and only looked at her, and let him touch her belly.
“–Hey. Here. In here. New life is growing now. You may not have been able to bring the dead to life. But there is a comparable miracle happening here that makes something out of nothing.”
She gently held Horst, who was still a boy, in her arms and whispered to him in a voice like that of a Virgin Goddess.
“–You really wanted to make amends, didn’t you? You just wanted to nurture and cherish. All right, I’ll make it happen. I’ll make it happen. You can raise her with me.”
It’s too arrogant a word to ask him to do something that he doesn’t understand, that it was okay to raise that baby.
And yet somehow, at that moment, Horst felt it with his whole body.
“Forgiveness,” he said.
Later, when he took control of the prison and helped Heidemarie give birth and had picked up the baby, he remembered crying for the first time in a long time.
God’s work was far beyond the layers of human technology.
Birth. Or life.
His 'sister” came into the world with a loud birth cry and was full of dazzling strength.
“-Well, to be honest, I didn’t expect you to be so overprotective.”
“What are you talking about? I’ve always just provided the bare minimum of protection to my sweet ‘sister.’”
When Heidemarie sighs while looking at the chessboard, Horst immediately retorts.
Not only that, but he lowered his eyebrows in hearty concern.
“Oh, Elma. I hope you haven’t caught a cold or anything. I’m pretty careless with that one, so I hope she hasn’t fallen down and scraped her knee or something. I should have let her have more anesthesia.”
“Hey. Do you want me to make a tactless lunge about not dealing with abrasions with anesthesia?”
“What if she got a nasty bug? I thought I’d tweaked the refractive index of her glasses to make her look rather unattractive. I should have planted a poisonous needle for protection, for sure. Should I go get rid of them?
“Hey, guys.”
It was Elma, who had defeated the dragon with a single blow and tightened up on the less-than-paternal prisoners.
If a man was courting her like that, he was a perfect bug.
Or rather, as a mother, she wanted her fifteen-year-old daughter to have one of those love affairs.
Heidemarie shrugged her thin shoulders at Horst, who let out a sad sigh with a huff.
“Oh my God. Why is it that the love of a brother to a sister is so hot and bothered? Elma isn’t just a baby who can’t crawl anymore.”
“It’s like that from me. And you say ‘from a brother,’ but if you see an example of [Envy], you’ll realize that there’s no gender difference in hotness.”
Heidemarie exaggeratedly pressed her chest as she said back in a small way.
“Oh no, Horst. Are you trying to tell me that [Envy] is a woman?”
“You’re not a man, are you?”
“Not even a woman.”
But she calls herself ‘the most beautiful woman in prison.’ He has to respect her wishes.
“Well, the best in jail?”
Heidemarie’s lips twitched there, sulking again.
He was always trying to provoke her.
“It’s not like you’re in the game.”
“Because when I hear of a fight for a woman, I can’t ignore it.”
“I know. And I know it’s always Elma who gets caught up in it.”
“For example, how to wear makeup. The way you choose your clothes. The way you tie your hair, the way you wear perfume, the way you sing.”
The game of who could embody more feminine beauty somehow morphed into a game of “which of us can make Elma more attractive as a woman” as she grew up.
As a result of this, Erma was forced to change her look from day to day, from one to another, from one to the other, from one to the other, from one to the other, from one to the other, to the other, to the other, to the other, to the other, to the other, to the other, to the other, to the other, to the other, to the other, to the other, to the other, to the other, to the other, to the other, to the other, to the other, to the other.
Probably the person being made to do it couldn’t have grasped the direction in which her character should be formed with that.
When Horst muttered, “Poor thing,” the beautiful former whore nodded her head gracefully.
“But thanks to that, I’m sure she has grown up to be a woman who could instantly charm even the prince of a great nation.”
“What the hell did Marie want with her daughter, anyway? My little sister is very important to me, and I don’t want you to take advantage of her.”
Horst plunges in with half an eye.
It didn’t help when all the residents thought they were all the most sensible people in the world.
“Hey.”
Heidemarie blinks her long eyelashes as if she were being asked something unexpected.
Then he smiled thinly as he gently stroked the Black Queen standing on the board with his fingers.
“I know. She wanted to be a “normal girl.”
