Through mutual negotiation, in addition to arranging a job for Xu Chunliang, Changxing Hospital provided a one-time compensation of six million yuan for the demolition. The matter of the demolition was finally resolved satisfactorily.

The old man bought a commercial property for over four million yuan on the other side of the river. The purchase contract was written in his grandson's name, with the aim of saving a substantial amount of transfer fees after his passing. Xu Changshan had many children and grandchildren, but he favored this one the most, not only because he had raised him, but also because he felt the child had a hard life, with neither his father nor his mother showing him much affection.

Of course, he had sought the opinions of his two daughters beforehand, and they both agreed. As for his son, Xu Jiaxuan, he naturally had no objections and even offered to pay half the cost, telling the old man to save the money for Xu Chunliang's future marriage.

The layout of the commercial property was similar to the past, with two floors. The first floor was for business, and the second floor could be used for living. There was also a small courtyard of about twenty square meters at the back, suitable for growing flowers and plants. The remaining money was left for his grandson.

Xu Changshan was not short of money. Having practiced medicine for a lifetime, he had accumulated considerable wealth. He was still useful in his old age, especially in the field of traditional Chinese medicine, where experience and age were highly valued. His three children were all well-off, and the living expenses they sent him each year amounted to at least 200,000 yuan. As for buying a house for Xu Chunliang, he didn't need to worry about it at all.

Xu Jiaxuan had said that if his son was willing to live abroad, he would arrange it. If he insisted on staying in the country, he could afford to buy a house in any city.

After a simple renovation of the new storefront, the moving process began. Changxing Hospital was waiting to start construction, and Xu Changshan kept his word.

The old man valued the sign of Huichuntang the most, so he personally took it to the new location.

Xu Chunliang told his grandfather not to worry about the move, leaving the supervision to him. He would go to the new place to receive and check the items. The division of labor was clear.

They had already moved the valuable herbs in advance. The main task for the day was to move the furniture and books. The books were easy to handle, but the furniture, made of solid wood, was very heavy. For example, moving a medicine cabinet required four adult laborers.

Xu Chunliang's task was to supervise and remind the workers not to damage the furniture. Just as they were working hard, Lu Qi arrived. He was off work today and had come to buy some ointments for his mother, coincidentally catching Huichuntang in the middle of moving.

Xu Chunliang knew his intention and told him to come to the new address another day, as it was too busy today to attend to him.

Lu Qi didn't leave and offered to help. Huichuntang had many fragile bottles and jars that needed to be packed and moved carefully. Lu Qi noticed that Xu Chunliang didn't have many friends; usually, such occasions would involve calling a few good friends to help.

Lu Qi, due to his profession, had a stronger safety awareness than ordinary people. He reminded the moving workers to be careful, noting that it was not a big deal if things were damaged, but it would be serious if someone got hurt.

Despite repeated warnings, an accident still happened near the end of the move. A few workers slipped while moving a bookshelf from upstairs, and one of them rolled down the stairs. Fortunately, his colleagues managed to hold onto the bookshelf, or the outcome would have been worse.

When Xu Chunliang heard the scream and rushed over, the moving workers had already lifted the bookshelf.

The worker who fell down was lying on the ground, screaming in pain. His right arm had hit the ground first, causing a dislocation of the elbow joint. His arm was deformed, with the elbow joint protruding inward, a typical case of lateral dislocation.

The foreman, seeing the situation, shouted, "Quick, take him to the hospital!" Then he turned to Xu Chunliang and said, "Give me five thousand yuan first."

Xu Chunliang was taken aback.

"Don't just stand there. The worker was injured at your place, so you have to pay for his medical treatment."

It seemed reasonable, but his aggressive attitude was annoying.

"I don't have the money," Xu Chunliang said honestly.

The moving workers glared at him, surrounding him menacingly. "What do you mean? You're not going to pay?"

Lu Qi, with his years of experience, quickly stepped in to separate them. "What are you doing? No one wants him to get hurt. Take him to the hospital first, and we'll sort out the responsibility later. The money will be paid, every cent of it."

In such situations, a contract is usually signed beforehand to clarify responsibilities. Accidents are common during moves, and injuries are not unusual.

Prudent clients would specify that if a moving company employee was injured during the move, the moving company would be responsible. Asking Xu Chunliang for money right away was excessive.

The foreman insisted, "Don't talk nonsense. Get the money for the medical treatment. If you don't have the money, call the old man."

"Watch your mouth," Xu Chunliang, who appeared weak, did not back down.

The foreman pointed at Xu Chunliang's nose, "You hurt my man, and you still have the nerve to talk..."

"Fuck you..."

Slap!

Xu Chunliang actually slapped him. The slap was loud and crisp, not very harmful but highly insulting. He had held back, or the foreman would have been in much worse shape.

"Let... let go... let..."

The moving workers, seeing their foreman being controlled by Xu Chunliang and slapped in public, could not contain their anger. They glared and rushed forward, as if they wanted to tear him apart.

Lu Qi shouted, "Stay back, I'm a police officer!"

Xu Chunliang sneered, "Try me, and I'll send you all to the hospital." He applied more force, and the foreman let out a pig-like scream.

Lu Qi looked at this young man in surprise. He had thought Xu Chunliang was a meek and weak lamb, but since the day Xu Chunliang caught the python, his impression had changed. Now, seeing his actions firsthand, he realized that Xu Chunliang was steady, accurate, and ruthless, and even a well-trained person like himself might not easily subdue this burly foreman. Recalling his own failure on Peace Bridge, this young man was only outwardly weak but was actually a skilled fighter.

Facing a group of burly men, Xu Chunliang showed no fear, acting decisively and controlling the leader, demonstrating his strong psychological素质. How could such a person attempt suicide?

Lu Qi's priority was to prevent the situation from escalating further. He advised Xu Chunliang, "Don't be impulsive, let him go first."

By this time, Xu Chunliang had a better understanding of the rules of this world. It was no longer a time when one could act recklessly and kill at will. He released the foreman's finger.

The foreman, regaining his freedom, remembered the slap he had received in front of everyone and became furious. He picked up a stool and charged at Xu Chunliang, ready to fight to the death.

Lu Qi stopped him in time, shouting, "What are you doing? Do you want to go to jail? Put it down now!"

The foreman, intimidated by Lu Qi's presence, slowly put down the stool but still refused to back down. "You'll pay for this."

Xu Chunliang didn't take these people seriously. He went to the injured worker, grabbed his right arm, and the worker screamed in pain. The other workers, thinking Xu Chunliang was harming their colleague, rushed over again.

Lu Qi didn't know what Xu Chunliang was doing. The atmosphere, which had just eased, became tense again. He inwardly sighed, thinking this young man was really troublesome.

Xu Chunliang held the worker's upper arm with one hand and his wrist with the other, and with a quick motion, he heard a crack, successfully resetting the dislocated elbow joint.

Although the onlookers were not medical experts, they could see that the worker's deformed arm had returned to normal. They now understood that Xu Chunliang was not trying to harm the worker but was treating him.

Xu Chunliang said to the injured worker, "Try moving it to see if it's better."

The pain immediately subsided after the joint was reset. The worker carefully moved his elbow and confirmed that it was back to normal, exclaiming, "It's better, no pain."

Lu Qi breathed a sigh of relief. The reputation of Huichuntang was well-deserved. It seemed that Xu Chunliang had inherited a lot of medical knowledge. He was not surprised, as everyone in Jiangzhou knew Huichuntang's expertise in treating bone injuries. Resetting a dislocated joint was a basic skill, and as the young master of Huichuntang, it was normal for Xu Chunliang to know some medical techniques.

Lu Qi said, "That's good."

The foreman insisted on going to the hospital for a check-up, saying that it wouldn't be considered resolved until the hospital said it was fine, and demanded that Huichuntang pay for the examination.

Xu Changshan, hearing the news, hurried over. To avoid further conflict, he paid for the worker to go to Changxing Hospital for a check-up. The results showed that the worker's right elbow joint had been successfully reset, with only a few minor skin abrasions.

According to the normal procedure, a contract should be signed between the client and the moving company. If an employee is injured due to the weight or size of the client's items, the moving company is responsible. If the injury is caused by the quality of the items, both parties can negotiate, and both the client and the moving company should share the medical expenses.

This accident had nothing to do with Huichuntang, but the old man had neglected to sign a formal contract, allowing the moving company to take advantage. To avoid further trouble, in addition to the examination fee, Xu Changshan gave an extra thousand yuan for nutrition. The old man was very upset by this unpleasant incident, and although the moving company offered to continue the move, he refused to use them again.

The moving fee was still paid, and an additional thousand yuan was given to the foreman to make them leave quickly.

The moving workers left satisfied. Xu Chunliang followed them outside, and Lu Qi, worried about a potential conflict, followed and patted Xu Chunliang's shoulder, asking, "Where are you going?"

Xu Chunliang smiled, "Nowhere, just seeing them off."

The foreman, hearing this, turned and glared at him, still harboring resentment over the slap.

Xu Chunliang said, "Have a good trip. What do you plan to do with the money?"

The foreman retorted, "I'll spend it however I want. What's it to you?"

"Looks like you haven't thought it through. I have a suggestion: save it for medicine."

Lu Qi, realizing this young man was quick with his words, quickly mediated, "Enough, enough. You've got the money, now go."

Suddenly, a buzzing sound filled the air. Lu Qi looked up and saw a wasp flying by. At first, he thought it was a coincidence, but the buzzing continued, and everyone looked up.

Under the eaves of Huichuntang, there was a wasp nest, with wasps flying around, their wings shimmering in the sunlight.

The foreman suddenly felt uneasy, as he saw the wasps flying toward him. "Quick, get in the car..." They hurried to the car, but before they could reach it, hundreds of wasps swarmed and launched a relentless attack.
