"What is this all about?"

"As I said, it's good news. However, since I couldn't answer it myself, I thought I should first consult with Reina."

Miel took out what looked like an order form. It seemed to summarize the requests for artificial magic stones.

"This is... an order for artificial magic stones?"

"Yes, this is just from the orders that came in over the past two days. The number of orders has been increasing day by day... and this is a letter to 'Alchemist Rio.' I couldn't open it, so I'll leave it as it is."

"Thank you for handling it for me."

"If my true identity were widely known, it would cause a commotion. Besides, helping you work while hiding your true identity is like something out of a popular novel, isn't it?"

Indeed, it does sound like a situation from a book. Miel smiled a little, which helped ease my mind a bit.

"You don't need to worry about the compensation... but Reina does. Anyway, I've already explained the situation to the children, so you can rest assured and continue your activities for a while."

"Thank you, I appreciate it."

I bowed slightly to Miel, who was sitting in front of me, and then looked at the documents in my hands. Each one was a large order. Even with the current setup, it would be difficult to fulfill them. I had already picked up the orders that had arrived at the orphanage the day before yesterday, so these new orders had come in just over the past two days.

"What do you think? Can you take them?"

"To be honest, it's quite difficult... The delivery for today's orders would take several weeks."

"Oh dear."

The orders are coming in much faster than we can produce. Normally, having many orders for a product that only you can make would be a sign of a thriving business. However, the production is not keeping up at all.

"Reina said you hired some alchemists to produce artificial magic stones, but even then, it's still not enough. That's quite a popularity, isn't it?"

"Yes... it is... being popular is a good thing, but..."

That's a lie. It's been about half a month, but in reality, no other alchemist besides me has successfully produced artificial magic stones. While having assistants helps with many tasks, there are still things that only I can do, so the production speed hasn't changed much. The number of orders coming in has reached a level that would be handled by a factory. Of course, I can't accept them as they are, so I need to take them back and write a response saying, "It will take a long time, but do you still want to place the order?"

The technical part involves aligning the crystals of the magic stone by flowing uniform magic power and then applying pressure by flowing a large amount of magic power. That's all. The rest is just mixing based on color and viscosity, which anyone can do.

If the magic power is not uniform, the crystals won't align, and if pressure is not applied, the artificial magic stone won't solidify. It seems difficult to maintain uniform magic power while applying pressure, and I haven't been able to provide an appropriate solution for this.

Holding the order forms Miel gave me, I headed to the workshop the Alchemist Guild has lent me, feeling rather gloomy. To be honest, the work doesn't require special facilities, so using the rental workshop within the Alchemist Guild would have been fine. However, the storage space for inventory and the risk of information leaks were issues, so the Guild lent me a building with a store and workshop integrated. The setup of an alchemy workshop requires a building-level application, and if I had to search for a property myself, it would have delayed the opening by two months. I'm grateful for their help, but I feel terribly guilty because I haven't been able to properly teach the alchemists they introduced to me.

I guess I'm just far from the norm. Even though I know this, I don't know how I'm off the mark or how to correct it.

Amber has grown rapidly and improved her combat skills significantly thanks to my teaching, but that was just a coincidence that my teaching style suited her. I thought I might have a talent for teaching because Amber always praises me, saying, "Reina's teaching is so clear!" I even considered teaching as a career for a moment, but I'm too embarrassed to tell anyone.

It's fine to say I'm a bad teacher. No, it's not fine, but it's inevitable. However, I can't just say, "If I can't teach, it's fine," and leave it at that. I need to find a way to increase the production line for artificial magic stones.

"Most alchemists are not good at manipulating magic power. If they were, they would have become magicians. Or, they must have really loved alchemy."

That's what Adolph, who works in my workshop, said.

Indeed, magicians can naturally perform precise magic power manipulation, but for alchemists, with the development of magical machinery, as long as they have magic power, they can continue their work even if they can't manipulate it themselves.

However, it's my fault for not providing a proper production manual, and he's a very good person who is trying to cover for us by saying, "It's our fault for not having the skills to make it." But I can't keep having him help with my work and practice magic power manipulation. The truth is, it will take a long time for them to reach the level where they can produce artificial magic stones that can be sold. Is there any good practice method that could drastically improve their magic power manipulation skills?

I ponder this as I walk.

It's good that it's popular, but it's far beyond my expectations. I thought the attention would be temporary because it's something new, but there's no sign of the orders settling down. There are so many things I need to consider.
