As the senior members announced their matter, Lady Gilne responded with a slightly exasperated expression.
"Wasn't that rule meant to protect my treasures and forbidden books?"
"Of course, Lady Gilne's personal items include teacups as well."
While quietly listening to the senior members, Lady Gilne picked up the fragments of her broken cup.
"It's a strange break for something that's just 'broken,' isn't it? It looks as if it was torn apart by wind magic. Don't you think so, Nier?"
"What are you trying to say?"
Nier responded with a smile that seemed to be crafted by "Wind Slash." Lady Gilne sighed as if she had realized everything.
"It's obvious, isn't it? It's unusual for these senior members to gather here like this and make such a spectacle."
"Excuse me, but the one making a spectacle is Lady Gilne."
"That's right, the guild rules are absolute. No matter what you say, the expulsion of Tim-Synthia from the guild cannot be overturned."
The senior members retorted without backing down from Lady Gilne's words.
"It's just one less errand runner. Just issue the punishment quickly."
"‘Just an errand runner’... The arrogance of the strong is truly absurd. A castle cannot stand without its pillars."
Lady Gilne murmured this and turned to me.
Then, she whispered, "I'm truly sorry..."
"Tim-Synthia! By the authority of the guild leader, I hereby expel you from this guild!"
"A... Ah..."
I collapsed, crying, unable to do anything.
I was so powerless.
I could only do errands in this guild and had no power to argue.
I had worked hard to become an adventurer...
And it was all so easily taken away...
"Lady Gilne! Thank you for saying it!"
The senior members clapped and smiled at Lady Gilne.
"Lady Gilne has been acting a bit strange lately."
"Last night, she was doing trivial things like practicing cooking and making tea, which was worrying."
"Even if it was an accident, this will be a good opportunity for Lady Gilne to return to her former glory."
They had only expelled me.
Yet, it felt as if they had completed a high-difficulty quest.
Lady Gilne turned away from me and said regretfully,
"Thank you for all your help..."
She spoke these final words to me.
The senior members nodded happily in agreement.
"That's right, we've been helped a lot by Tim. Though, it was just errands, after all."
"--- No, I'm talking to ‘you all’."
Lady Gilne removed the guild leader's emblem from her neck.
"Right now, at this very moment! I am leaving the Adventurer's Guild 'Gilneise' and will follow Tim!"
The senior members looked at each other, surprised.
