### Chapter 2: The Great Physician's Sincerity and Integrity
"Alright, I'll go to the Mirror of Past Lives and check for you after Judge Cui leaves." The ox-headed figure replied and then fell silent.
Zheng Qian's mind was muddled. This situation seemed utterly bizarre, but he was gradually coming to terms with it.
He slept until dawn. Still groggy, Chen Zihao suddenly shouted, "Damn it, it's already past eight-ten! Today is Old Man Wu's class on 'Fundamentals of Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory.' If you can't answer the questions, you'll have to run twenty laps around the playground. We only have five minutes... We're dead..."
Hearing Chen Zihao's loud shout, Zheng Qian was jolted awake and immediately sprang up. They were in their third year, about to start their graduation internship. Although the courses were few, Old Man Wu was known throughout the entire TCM college for his strictness. If he said you didn't pass, even a perfect score on the final exam wouldn't save you.
The four of them quickly jumped out of bed, brushed their teeth, washed their faces, and then rushed to the classroom with their TCM theory books.
Fortunately, they arrived just in time; Old Man Wu hadn't come yet.
The four of them were usually the type who slept in class and cheated on exams. Only Zheng Qian could manage to pass on his own; the other three always relied on him.
As soon as Zheng Qian sat down, he saw Yang Yunyun sitting not far from him, with Wang Haoran sitting next to her, his arm around her.
Seeming to sense Zheng Qian's gaze, Yang Yunyun turned around and looked at him with disdain, "You poor thing, even the only fruit machine I could tolerate was stolen. How did you not get hit by a bus? Coming to class is just polluting my eyes."
Wang Haoran, sitting in front, also turned around with a playful look and said mockingly, "A few academic failures, you'll end up selling trinkets under a bridge after graduation!"
Zheng Qian's eyes narrowed, and he clenched his fists, his face cold.
Chen Zihao, standing beside him, couldn't take it anymore and was about to lash out, but Zheng Qian stopped him. He stared at Yang Yunyun, who felt a bit uneasy under his gaze. She tugged at Wang Haoran's arm and shouted, "What are you, a toad, trying to chase me? Go take a piss and look at yourself!"
"Remember your words today, you'll regret them!" Zheng Qian said coldly, each word heavy and resounding.
Yang Yunyun was about to retort, but at that moment, an old man wearing a blue robe, old-fashioned cloth shoes, and reading glasses walked in.
"Alright, students, today's TCM theory questions will count towards your final grade. If you can't answer, you'll have to run twenty laps around the playground. If I'm satisfied, I might let you off the hook!"
Old Man Wu lowered his eyelids, his voice cold.
Zheng Qian and the others quickly buried their heads in their books, cramming at the last minute, which was better than doing nothing.
"A few idiots, cramming at the last minute, you're destined to run twenty laps!" Wang Haoran, sitting in front with Yang Yunyun, looked at Zheng Qian and the others with disdain, his voice mocking.
"What? Meng Haoran, do you want to answer a question?" Old Man Wu, hearing the voice, adjusted his reading glasses and turned to look at them.
Wang Haoran's face turned serious, and he quickly replied respectfully, "Please, Old Man Wu... Teacher, instruct us!"
"Hmm?" Old Man Wu's eyebrows furrowed, his expression unchanged, but he said, "Alright, since you're all so capable, I'll give you a question. Whoever answers correctly won't have to take the final exam; I'll let them pass. If no one answers correctly, you'll all run fifty laps!"
"Wow..."
The entire classroom was in an uproar, and almost all the students glared at Wang Haoran, wishing they could tear him apart.
Old Man Wu's words were enough to show the difficulty of the question. If he didn't want them to pass, no one would.
Wang Haoran's face turned ashen, realizing he had inadvertently incited the wrath of the entire class.
Zheng Qian almost burst out laughing. Old Man Wu hated being called "old man," and Wang Haoran had just signed his own death warrant.
Chen Zihao and Meng Nan's hearts also relaxed. The individual questions had turned into a class-wide problem. Even if they got it wrong, it wouldn't be their fault, and they could all run the fifty laps together.
"Yesterday, we discussed the 'Qian Jin Yao Fang' by the Medicine King Sun Simiao. I also asked you to review it. Who can recite the 'Great Physician's Sincerity and Integrity' section from the 'Qian Jin Yao Fang'? You have two minutes."
Old Man Wu's gaze swept over the classroom, and everyone was shocked.
What was this? Wasn't this a TCM theory class? Why did they have to recite 'Great Physician's Sincerity and Integrity'? The text was over a thousand characters long and in classical Chinese. It was impossible to memorize it in such a short time.
All the students were instantly despondent, and many glared at Wang Haoran. If not for him, they wouldn't have to run fifty laps.
Wang Haoran was at a loss, his face more ashen than anyone else's, standing there without knowing what to do.
"Buzz!"
At that moment, Zheng Qian felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He immediately thought of the conversation with the ox-headed figure last night and quickly took it out to check.
"Brother, I've taken care of what you asked. I'll send you the photo of the thief later. Judge Cui is sick, and Sun Simiao just visited him. I'm sending Sun Simiao back now. I'll contact you later!"
"Hmm? Sun Simiao from the Tang Dynasty?"
Zheng Qian was taken aback and quickly sent a message, "Ox-head, can you get Sun Simiao to give me the text of 'Great Physician's Sincerity and Integrity'?"
As soon as he sent the message, his phone vibrated again, indicating that someone had added him as a friend. He opened it and saw that it was Sun Simiao.
Zheng Qian, who had already accepted the unimaginable, quickly agreed.
"Whoosh!"
As soon as he opened the chat with Sun Simiao, a white, hazy light orb flew out of the phone and quickly entered Zheng Qian's head. Even Chen Zihao, sitting next to him, didn't notice.
"Buzz!"
Zheng Qian felt as if someone had punched him in the head. His vision blurred, and he was dizzy. After several deep breaths, he slowly recovered.
He looked down at his phone and saw a message from Sun Simiao: "Sent!"
"Thanks!" Zheng Qian exhaled deeply and replied with two words.
"What? No one can answer?" Old Man Wu's face was mocking, and he said with a smile, "The two minutes are almost up. If no one answers, you'll all have to run fifty laps!"
No one answered, but more people glared at Wang Haoran. If not for him, they wouldn't be in this predicament.
Wang Haoran was sweating profusely, scratching his head and ears in desperation.
However, many people turned their gaze to the graceful figure in the front row, hoping she would step in and save the day, especially Wang Haoran.
Zheng Qian also looked over. The figure was wearing a thin white dress, and from behind, one could even see the faint outline of her bra, evoking many thoughts.
But as time passed, the figure in the front row remained motionless.
Li Qianqian was indeed the class and school beauty and a top student, but that didn't mean she knew everything. Old Man Wu was clearly trying to discipline this unruly group of students and wouldn't let them off so easily.
She wasn't a god, and she couldn't recite 'Great Physician's Sincerity and Integrity.'
"Hmph, is this all you can do? All of you to the playground!" Old Man Wu slammed his book on the podium.
"Clang!"
The loud noise made all the students jump, and they all glared at Wang Haoran.
Wang Haoran was drenched in cold sweat and quickly pleaded, "Qianqian, you're a top student. If you know the answer, please help the class out!"
Wang Haoran's move immediately drew everyone's attention to Li Qianqian. Fifty laps was no small number, and no one wanted to run them. Everyone looked at Li Qianqian, who was slowly standing up, her face cold.
Old Man Wu also turned to look at her, satisfied with her as a top student, and waited expectantly.
"I don't know!" Li Qianqian's voice was clear and firm.
The other students were instantly disappointed, but Wang Haoran was already in a panic. If no one answered, he would become the class's public enemy, causing everyone to run fifty laps. This was a serious offense, and he would be a pariah in the class.
He almost cried and pleaded, "Qianqian, you have to help me, no matter what!"
Li Qianqian's eyebrows furrowed, and her voice carried a hint of anger, "I don't know!" She then sat down.
The other students looked at each other and silently stood up, preparing to leave. As they did, they glared at Wang Haoran with anger.
Wang Haoran was on the verge of tears, regretting his actions.
Yang Yunyun, standing next to him, was also annoyed. If not for Wang Haoran's wealth, she would have long left him.
"Wait!"
At that moment, a sudden voice came from the back of the classroom. The students were stunned and looked in the direction of the voice, as if they had seen a savior.
Since Chen Zihao had just stood up, everyone's gaze naturally fell on him. He was taken aback, his face changing, and he quickly pointed at Zheng Qian, saying, "He said it, not me!"
Old Man Wu also turned to look at Zheng Qian, "What?"
"Old Man Wu, there are still ten seconds left in the two minutes," Zheng Qian stood up and said.
"Can you recite it?" Old Man Wu asked.
"Try and see!" Zheng Qian smiled, organized his thoughts, and began, "Zhang Zhan said: 'The difficulty of mastering medical formulas has been a long-standing issue. Today, diseases may have the same internal cause but different external manifestations, or they may have different internal causes but the same external manifestations...'
The calm voice from Zheng Qian's mouth made everyone stop and listen in amazement.
A hint of surprise also flashed in Old Man Wu's cloudy eyes. He hadn't even mentioned 'Great Physician's Sincerity and Integrity,' yet someone could actually recite it?
