Now that Lin Tian had money, he stood outside the town at a small food stall, clutching the hundred yuan and indulging in a hearty meal.
His frenzied eating amazed the other diners, who watched with wide eyes. Some even whispered to each other about him.
With the strange ability he had gained, not only had his physical strength increased many times over, but his senses, including his hearing, had also become much sharper.
He heard a young man eating lamb skewers and drinking beer say to his companion, "Is this kid just out of jail? He eats like a beast."
The conversation around him made Lin Tian's face turn red. Feeling embarrassed, he looked at the mess on the table and called out, "Boss, how much?"
The boss, a man from Xinjiang, looked at Lin Tian as if he were a monster and slowly said, "It's sixty-five yuan."
"Sixty-five?"
"Are you kidding, boss?" But seeing the table full of meat skewers, Lin Tian's face turned red, and he softly said, "It's quite cheap. Give me the change."
After handing over the large bill to the boss, Lin Tian felt his heart ache. The money in his pocket had barely warmed up before it was gone.
Taking the change from the boss, Lin Tian thought to himself, "I need to find a way to make money, or I'll starve to death. But why do I not feel hungry even after eating so much?"
Unable to figure it out, Lin Tian decided not to think about it and returned to the courtyard where he rented a room.
Back in his small room, Lin Tian lay on the bed, unable to sleep, his mind replaying the events of the day.
"Why did Li Dazhuang go crazy in the end?"
Lin Tian muttered to himself.
As he was deep in thought, Lin Tian suddenly noticed a faint black mist floating in the northwest corner of the room. He was puzzled and said, "What is this? Is the mist black?"
Suddenly, a flash of insight came to him. He remembered the black mist that had enveloped Li Dazhuang by the spring in the back mountain, which had driven him mad.
"At the time, things were chaotic, and I didn't pay much attention. Could this be the same black mist?"
Lin Tian whispered, slowly squatting down next to the faint black mist and observing it closely.
"Sha Qi."
A word popped into his mind, and Lin Tian's lips followed suit.
As soon as the words left his mouth, the "Sha Qi" that had been aimlessly floating began to quickly drift towards him. Before he could react, it was absorbed into his body.
When Lin Tian came to his senses, he was shocked, but after the "Sha Qi" entered his body, he felt no discomfort. Instead, he felt his strength increase.
Now, if he faced Li Dazhuang again, Lin Tian was confident he could knock him down with one punch.
"Go to sleep, and tomorrow I'll settle accounts with Huang Mao and his gang."
With a satisfied look, Lin Tian lay on the bed and slowly fell asleep. However, he didn't notice that more "Sha Qi" was drifting in from outside, entering his body. Although it was only a small amount, the quantity was still considerable.
In the night of June, the stars shone brightly, and time passed unnoticed. Soon, the sun slowly rose from the east, casting warmth and light upon the world.
Lin Tian came to school with his classmates, attending the most boring classes of the day. Lin Tian was exceptionally intelligent and had already repeated all the courses of the third year of junior high school by the time he was in the second year. If it weren't for his age, he would have already moved on to the next level.
"Zhang Jian, do you know where Huang Mao and his gang are?"
Lin Tian asked his companion.
"Xiao Tian, why are you looking for them? They're all bad people."
Zhang Jian replied with a look of indignation.
"Nothing, I just want to collect a debt from them."
Seeing his good friend Zhang Jian's indignant look, Lin Tian became even more determined to confront Huang Mao and his gang.
"Xiao Tian, look at your dream girl."
Two young and beautiful girls walked by not far ahead. One of them, wearing a gray short-sleeved shirt, was particularly attractive. Even at this young age, it was clear she would grow up to be a great beauty.
Lin Tian's eyes widened as he watched the two girls. Just as he was ogling them, his eyes slightly narrowed as a group of men approached, led by a man in a floral shirt with dyed yellow hair—Huang Mao.
"Hey, isn't that Huang Mao?"
"He seems to be harassing your dream girl."
Before the words were even finished, Lin Tian quickly walked towards Su Kexin, leaving Zhang Jian with a stunned look.
"Are you serious? You're really going to confront Huang Mao?"
When Zhang Jian came to his senses and saw Lin Tian walking away, he couldn't believe it. They, especially the students from out of town, had suffered a lot from Huang Mao and his gang, so they had a psychological shadow over them.
Seeing Lin Tian dare to go alone, Zhang Jian couldn't believe it either, but as a good friend, he couldn't let him get beaten up. With no choice, he gritted his teeth and followed Lin Tian.
"Kexin, would you like to go to the movies with me?"
Huang Mao, with his shoe-shaped face, leered at Su Kexin.
"No."
Su Kexin, seeing Huang Mao's lecherous look, said with disgust.
"My big brother is giving you an honor."
A lackey behind Huang Mao leered at Su Kexin.
"How about I go to the movies with you?"
Su Kexin was not far from Lin Tian. Before Huang Mao could say much, Lin Tian had already caught up, smiling innocently at Huang Mao and his gang, but his words made their faces turn green.
"Lin Tian?"
Su Kexin looked at Lin Tian in confusion. In her memory, although Lin Tian wasn't very assertive, he usually avoided such people. Why was he confronting them today?
Lin Tian smiled at Kexin, thinking it was a cool look, and said, "Kexin, don't be afraid. I'll protect you."
Zhang Jian, who had just arrived, rolled his eyes and thought to himself, "You're going to get a beating, and I'll be the one to suffer."
"Brat, do you want to die?"
"You think you can play the hero? Wait and see how you cry."
Huang Mao's face darkened as soon as he saw Lin Tian, almost as if it could drip water.
Without waiting for Huang Mao's command, one of his lackeys, eager to show off in front of the boss, swung his fist, which was as big as a steamed bun, at Lin Tian's face. In the past, when he bullied Lin Tian, Lin Tian never fought back.
He was still dreaming of how this punch would not only impress the boss but also make him look tough in front of the girls. His reputation at Qingfeng High School would be solidified. But this was all just a dream. The harsh reality woke him up.
Lin Tian, seeing the punch coming, didn't dodge. Instead, he extended his leg and kicked the young man, who was still dreaming, flying.
Kexin, who had been about to warn Lin Tian to be careful, wisely closed her mouth. Zhang Jian, who had been tense and ready to support Lin Tian, was also stunned by the scene.
The onlookers watched Lin Tian with shock. The girls who loved violence were starry-eyed and admiring the powerful Lin Tian.
The most shocked were Huang Mao and his gang. They knew from their frequent fights that it took a lot of strength to knock someone down.
The look of contempt on Lin Tian's face disappeared, replaced by a serious expression.
