Of course, just like what Fang Lingying did for Liu Changyuan, it's better to teach a man to fish than to give him a fish. Instead of lending a bit of money to make up the numbers, it's better to introduce a path. Fang Lingying did just that. In her mind, she still felt superior to Bak, so it was only natural for her to lend a helping hand.
Bak didn't mind at all. He was just passing the time. In a few more months, probably before the Spring Festival, he would have money, right? These few months, he could do anything. The small German banks, which were hereditary, placed great importance on credit. Bak chose this path for that reason. Otherwise, why wouldn't he choose one of the large multinational banks?
So, after a few days, he started riding his motorcycle to work. The two sisters who were enthusiastic about racing with him had to reluctantly follow Liu Shufen to school for registration and auditing due to the start of the semester.
Compared to the car wash stall Bak had found on the street, the one introduced by Fang Lingying was much more upscale. The car wash shed was several dozen meters long and curved, with a production line. Over ten to twenty car wash workers were responsible for different processes. The car owner only needed to park the car at one end and wait in the air-conditioned tea lounge on the inside of the curve. They could watch through the glass as their car went through each process and finally stopped in front of them, clean and tidy, with a very professional look.
Bak was one of the workers who sprayed foam, which was essentially applying soap to the car. He diligently held the air pressure spray gun, repeating the process mechanically like an artificial intelligence on an assembly line. However, after only two days, his talent began to shine.
Not for any other reason, this car wash model inevitably required someone to receive the cars. Most car washes had this position. The space was wet and dirty, with mist everywhere, and car owners were unwilling to walk in. Therefore, there were usually people to help drive the cars in. Most of the young workers could drive, and those who liked driving were especially eager to take on this role, getting a chance to handle various car models, even if they couldn't afford to buy one.
One day at noon, a young woman drove a rather unremarkable two-door car. The dedicated driver was having lunch, so a few young workers eagerly approached to take the car keys. However, after the young woman got out of the car and stood by it with her arms crossed, smiling, two of the young workers who got into the car came out awkwardly. The reason was that the car had a transmission that the young men had almost never seen before. It wasn't a regular automatic or manual transmission. Out of respect for the car, the few young men without driver's licenses didn't dare to touch it.
Bak, who was holding the spray gun and waiting for the next step, noticed the empty space in front of him. The car was blocking the cars behind, which were honking impatiently. He overheard the young workers discussing the car and saw that it was indeed a rare AMT transmission, an electronically controlled mechanical automatic transmission, a niche product from Europe. Without hesitation, he got into the car and drove the Fiat smoothly. Seeing his ease and stability, the young woman smiled and went to wait in front.
When the dedicated driver returned, he said he had never seen such a transmission. Bak simply explained, "It's basically an electronic manual transmission, simulating automatic gear shifts. It's a bit of a driving pleasure, but not a high-end car."
These few words caught the attention of the boss, who recognized Bak's expertise. With a wave of his hand, Bak was transferred from spraying foam to moving cars, and his salary increased from 1,200 to 1,800.
Even though he was still a low-income worker, Bak continued to work with a smile. This made Fang Lingying, who had called a friend to check on his situation, stop contacting him.
Even if they got along well, the social gap was too large. It was like a motorcycle seat with a hole; no matter how much it was patched, it would still be an 80cc motorcycle, never comparable to a Harley Davidson or a car. It had nothing to do with discrimination; a prince and Cinderella could fall in love, but daily life required a match. Fang Lingying knew she wouldn't lose her head.
Bak, however, found the work enjoyable. The environment, with over ten to twenty young people laughing and joking, was similar to his time in the mercenary company, especially when he first started. His mood became increasingly cheerful. When he received his first month's salary of 2,000 yuan, he bought a 300-yuan mobile phone for each of his two sisters and some gifts for his parents. The rest he used to treat his coworkers, ranging from teenagers to those in their twenties and thirties, to a hot pot meal. Everyone was impressed by his generosity, and his work relationships were excellent. At home, he continued to live off the money he had earned from the barbecue stall, which was about 10,000 yuan.
Seeing him content, his parents didn't ask any questions and enjoyed a peaceful family life with their daughters.
But Bak was not destined to be quiet.
One morning, after the busiest period, the number of cars being washed decreased during the post-rush hour. Bak and his colleagues could catch their breath. After eating a bowl of beef noodles, he squatted on the dry roadside to the left of the car wash, as usual, and took out a cigarette to pass around to the young car wash workers. He didn't light it, as usual, but played with it in his fingers. He saw a Trident sports car driving down the road. The two receptionists excitedly jumped up, "Damn! A Maserati!" They stood by the roadside, waving enthusiastically to invite the car to come for a wash. Others took out their phones to take photos.
Bak wanted to pull these young men under twenty, as such luxury cars worth millions rarely came to this car wash. They either had servants to wash them at home or went to professional beauty shops. This was something he had learned this month. Any market had its segments, and this car wash mainly focused on mid-range cars priced between 200,000 and 300,000 yuan, which was the largest consumer group. Occasionally, a million-yuan car would come, usually to boost the car wash's reputation.
But the receptionists, with their limited experience, thought, "Bro Bak, look, the car is slowing down... It's looking for a car wash! It's coming! Bro Bak, can you drive it?"
As the car with its milky white and light gold body hesitated and stopped in front of the receptionist, Bak nodded calmly. What was there to be afraid of?
When the frameless door opened, Bak, who was walking over, bent down to take out a dust cover from his pocket. This was why his salary had increased by 200 yuan. He had bought the dust covers from a supermarket and used them for high-end cars or those driven by particularly clean women. This small change made the car wash seem more professional, and the boss was very happy.
But this small delay almost made Bak bump into the back of the receptionist. They usually helped open the car door, especially for such desirable luxury cars. Bak looked up in surprise and saw something called presence, which seemed to无形地挡住了这些低收入的年轻人。
但就是这样的高档项链还是无法比过姑娘身上的吸引,露出来一点点肩头,圆润光滑,稍微带点镂空的香槟金色裙围,有不少褶皱边,巧妙的虚张声势又掩盖了实际上胸围的大小,总之看上去就是绝不突兀,又不平坦的适度起伏;
