Ah Fu continued, “I’ve decided to start over, I can’t just keep on relying on everyone, I have to mature. Pippi is my important friend, and so are you, so one day let’s meet again somewhere in this world. By then, I’ll already be independent!”

“Well said!” Gagaf was impressed with Ah Fu’s words, even Milona was so moved that she couldn’t help but tear up.

As if it understood Ah Fu’s words, the monkey suddenly stopped struggling and looked at its master with tears in its eyes.

“Good boy, Pippi. These useless guys are going to defeat the demon king and save the world, you need to help them.” Ah Fu sniffled, mustering up a smile as he patted the monkey’s head. The monkey squeaked and waved his arms, suddenly looking smug.

‘What do you mean “these useless guys.”’ Shanoa was a little bit unhappy, but she was too lazy to refute. Watching Ah Fu and Pippi say their goodbyes so passionately, she wondered when the story became that of a heartbreaking comic strip.

Finally the monkey was handed over to Shanoa by Ah Fu. The monkey is skilled at stealing items which would be useful to the group on their next journey. Both Milona and Gagaf very much approved of this, but Shanoa always felt that something was not quite right somewhere; if they all started taking the act of stealing things for granted…

“Anyways, I believe in you guys! You must defeat the Demon King, okay?” Ah Fu seemed to be full of fighting spirit, shouting at them as a form of encouragement, but Ah Fu’s loud voice attracted the attention of strangers walking around them. These ordinary bystanders of course didn’t understand what was happening in this world, laughing at the words Must defeat the demon king’.

“We’ll definitely bring peace to this continent.” They didn’t care much about the reaction of the passers-by and raised their fists to the air. The monkey climbed onto Shanoa’s shoulder with a grunt and squealed as it waved its hand to Ah Fu.

“Take care everyone…”

After finally saying his goodbyes, Ah Fu turned away, shoulders visibly trembling—probably because he didn’t want to be seen crying. The kid never turned back to look at them and instead ran away. The monkey squeaked sadly a few more times, but it never went after its original master.

“Look at him, trying to hide from us.”

“Well that’s that, he’ll be a man someday! Goodbye Ah Fu!”

Staring at Ah Fu’s back slowly fading into the distance, Gagaf and Milona waved their hands together and bid him farewell. Shanoa couldn’t stand being caught up in the atmosphere, so she ran off alone to line up for boat tickets. The three-person boat ticket to Rosette Port was 2400G in total, which cost them almost all of their possessions. She regretted not asking Ah Fu for a little more gold coins before he left; at that moment, the only thing Shanoa was thankful for was that they didn’t ask for an extra ticket for Pippi to board the boat and that there was apparently no rule about pets not being allowed on the boat.

Rosette Port was the primary trading centre of the entire Farus continent, but it takes a whole day to get there by boat from Port Lavette. Lin Tianyin was worried about getting seasick, especially since she had somewhat of a phobia for deep seas, so she was anxious about whether they would encounter sea monsters or the possibility of a sinking. After all, anything is possible in a fantasy world, and the likelihood of such things happening was very high when it came to this author’s urine. [1]

On the contrary, since it was her first time on a boat, Milona was very excited. They replenished some food and fruit near the port, then cheerfully boarded the boat. Shanoa also noticed, didn’t know since when, that Milona who held a wooden stick originally was instead holding an iron bar—Shanoa and Gagaf didn’t dare ask why or how.

Eventually, the boat departed before the sun set completely and after replenishing their supplies, the group hurried to board it. Since the monkey didn’t need a boat ticket, they shared a four-person room with another separate passenger. Shanoa didn’t mind any of this as long as the boat didn’t encounter sea monsters or something along the way.

“Let’s go and greet the guest who will be sharing the room with us!” Everyone came out a exhausted after the battle earlier in the day, but Milona was in high spirits. Milona’s strength was not at all what was described in the original, her patience was also relatively short—not to mention how awful she looked when she went berserk.

“Whatever,” Shanoa said casually, bringing the boat ticket down the stairs into their cabin. The air inside downstairs was a bit stuffy and the floors felt shaky under her feet. The three of them immediately went it after they found the door to their room and was immediately met with the sight of a lone figure standing in the middle of the room.

“Hi, how are you?” Milona pushed the door open with gusto and greeted them cheerfully. Shanoa and Gagaf didn’t expect to meet someone extraordinary like the demon lord going on an adventure or a skilled mercenary travelling on the same boat as they are, so after walking in, they were taken aback upon seeing the passenger who will be spending the whole boat ride with them.

There stood an old man with a fierce face; one-eyed, big wine-drenched nose, messy hair, and a big metal hook mounted where the right hand should have been. After seeing Milona who came in and greeted him, the old man smiled and showed a mouthful of gold teeth, giving the three a hideous grin.

“Good, how ‘bout you?”
