The study session before the joint exercise was not a study but a coordinated practice of actual combat actions.
Renatus asked Bradley, “In real combat, status doesn’t matter. Please don’t worry about me, just treat me as an equal comrade.”
In the course of that practice, Bradley apparently discovered that Renatus was quite clumsy on the inside.
Bradley became a drill sergeant when he realized that if he was lenient, lives could be lost.
(It’s scary when he speaks in a threatening tone with his beautiful face…)
Basically, he is kind.
And he cares about Renatus more than anything else.
Therefore, he is strict with my slackened spirit, which can lead to the loss of life.
There were many instances like the admonition I mentioned earlier that I would be given until our faces were close together.
The reason why Renatus tends to be sloppy is because of the absent-minded office worker in his head.
Because this office worker was a herbivorous man who avoided trouble, he had little sense of reality about the act of fighting. Besides, he knows that this is the world of “The Heroic Legend of the Wolf King,” so he knows what will happen. He knows the future.
Of course, this is partly due to Renatus’ own strength. He can handle most things, so he tends to take a relaxed approach to everything.
(I have to be firm. I’m his best friend, so I have to earn his trust properly.)
Renatus nodded yes.
I put the hammer I used to wedge the boundary stones into the magic bag.
Then I took out the cooking utensils. Items popped out of the small bag one after another.
(This is a common item in fantasy novels but it’s really useful. In the original story, the setting was one where it’s widespread, so it’s usually sold in stores.)
The “Magic Bag” is an interdimensional storage unit created by combining spatial and temporal magic.
You can find out the contents by putting your hand in it, and items come out when you pull your hand out with the intention of taking them out. Even though there are a lot of items inside, the outside is a small bag, so it is surprisingly easy to carry around.
In this joint exercise, each team is provided with two magic bags.
The first contains the things necessary for the march.
Tools for preparing meals and setting up camp. And healing items.
It is a rule that healing items must be created by students of the magic department.
As with Rennatus’ gift of the potion to Mark, items are frequently exchanged between students.
The item trade is primarily carried out at the academy’s item market.
In this market, various items are traded for battle points.
Among them, the students who are good at making potions accumulate battle points even before the joint exercise starts. This is an activity that is officially recognized by the academy.
Even students who are not good at fighting can earn battle points by making things.
Renatus also once auctioned off a potion he had made out of curiosity.
However, after receiving an enormous amount of battle points from the knight students, the auction had to be suspended. The points were out of proportion to the potion.
When I told Bradley about this, he had a scary look on his face.
He said, “Don’t bait those unscrupulous people who want to drink something that has Renatus’ magic power in it.”
I don’t understand. Potions are merely medicine.
I am getting off track.
The second bag is for storing the loot.
This bag is subjected to the calculation of the battle points immediately after the joint exercise. The guild then buys the loot for materials.
The sales are collected by the academy, which then funds the holding of the joint exercise. I think this is a reasonable recycling process since it takes a certain amount of money to run the exercises safely.
The magic bag is probably what makes this joint exercise hassle-free
If we had to carry so many things, we would not be able to move so lightly.
“Magic bags are really convenient.”
“What’s wrong? All of a sudden?”
Bradley, who was setting up the charcoal-fueled cook stove, gave me a puzzled look.
TN: This part is just Renatus being in awe of the magic bag.
Hi guys, after my employer relocated and the company shut down, I was also doing what I could to relocate. So, I was focused on getting a certification in English and I wasn’t able to translate. When I picked up my tablet to translate last week, I noticed the lower part of the screen was peeled off. Thankfully, it was fixable. I can’t work on my phone due to small text so my tablet was a lifesaver.
Please support me on Kofi. I am saving up to relocate to another country for safety.
Have a good day. Enjoy reading.
