Bradley moved swiftly, holding Renatus in one hand.

He plunged the sword into the ground. You will see a small snake split up and motionless if you look. It was a young venomous serpent.

The venomous serpent is a monster, so it’s huge. It is unlikely that I would have missed its presence. I didn’t notice it because it was a tiny baby snake.

Bradley took a sheet from the magic bag, spread it out, and laid Renatus on it.

He immediately removed the cloth from around his waist and bound Renatus’ legs. Then, without hesitation, he put his mouth to the wound, sucked out the venom, and spat it out.

“Bradley, your mouth, the venom…”

“It’s okay. I’m very resistant to poison.”

Bradley used water from the flask to clean the wound. He repeatedly sucked out the venom, spit it out, and cleaned the wound.

It’s a quick first-aid treatment.

“Renatus, this is an antidote potion. Can you drink it?”

“Yes…”

Renatus took the antidote potion.

Bradley left Renatus’ side with the barrier stones and hammer. He seemed to be putting a barrier around us.

Renatus opened the lid of the bottle of antidote potion. He tried to swallow it by tilting it, but he couldn’t drink it smoothly. He managed to drink a little, but it spilled out of the corner of his mouth. Is it because of the tremor? It’s impossible with all this shaking.

Bradley was in a panic when he returned. It’s probably because Renatus’ face was soaked with the antidote potion.

“Sorry, here, let me help you.”

With a short explanation, Bradley took a new antidote potion out of the magic bag.

He supported Renatus’ upper body, which he had raised slightly, and put the antidote potion into his mouth before pressing his lips against Renatus’.

It is mouth-to-mouth .

I swallowed the potion as it flowed down my throat. He repeated the process until we had finished the entire bottle.

“Are you conscious?”

Bradley sounded worried.

Renatus rested his head on his lap in a lap pillow position.

“Yes… but I don’t know. The peak of symptoms for this venom comes late. And…”

“And?”

“I’m weak to poison. It’s constitutional. Antidote potions don’t work well on me either.”

In the original story, “The Heroic Tale of the Wolf King,” Renatus died of poison.

Maybe it’s for the convenience of the story. Probably also to create a weakness in the cheat final boss. The antidote potions are not as effective as they should be for the poison to really kill him.

Bradley’s face turned pale.

“Wha…”

“It’s not that it doesn’t work at all. It’s just that it’s not very effective…”

“Why didn’t you tell me something so important…?”

“You are right. I am sorry.”

I felt apologetic to Bradley as his tone became harsh.

Mark, who was paired in the original story, was not bitten by the venomous serpent.

It was Renatus’ fault for putting too much faith in the original story as a prediction of the future.

“Bradley, make sure you drink the antidote properly too…after all, you sucked out the venom.”

“Don’t worry about me.”

“It’s not good.”

“I am fine… Let’s send out a “distress signal.”

“Huh?”

Renatus shouted in surprise.

“It’s a matter of life and death. Especially if the antidote potion is less effective.”

Bradley’s suggestion was reasonable. There are rules set by the academy for the joint exercise. One of them is, “If there is an abnormality in the condition and recovery is critical, you must send out a distress signal.”

However, in the original story, the ‘harbinger’’ activity occurs two days later.

If Renatus retreats here, the teams following the first course will be hit by the ‘harbinger’.

The team behind us is one day behind and on the course. They are a group of three, if I remember correctly. Unlike Renatus’ team, they are just ordinary students. They would surely die.

Even if I talk about ‘harbinger,’ no one would believe me because there’s no evidence to support it.

That’s why Renatus wanted to deal with the ‘harbinger’.

If he knows that the person behind him is going to die, and in fact, he does die, Renatus will be very disturbed until the day he dies. It is in his character to dwell on things for a long time.

“…Bradley, can you wait for a day… no, until tomorrow morning? If my condition doesn’t improve, you can take me home.”

If my life is in danger, I would be persuaded to return, even if it is by force.

That’s why I suggested this.

“You can earn as many battle points as you like in the future. If that’s what you’re worried about-”

“That’s not it. There are circumstances…”

“Circumstances?”

“…I’m sorry. But I can’t tell you about it.”

When Renatus hesitated, Bradley sighed heavily.

“…I understand. Is there anything I can do for you?”

Bradley was clearly unconvinced, but he respected Renatus’ wishes and was willing to wait until tomorrow morning.

Renatus was filled with gratitude. For him, who valued Renatus’ safety above all else, it would have been a compromise he would have been unwilling to make.

“For now, I would like to rest.”

“Well then, we will set up here today.”

Bradley said, and after letting Renatus lie down, he went to pitch the tent.
