"Look, if you keep crying like that, your eyes will swell up~"

Sid, the mage who serves as my bodyguard, always laughs at the story of my past life, calling it a bad dream.

He placed his hand on my shoulder, which was collapsing in tears, and comforted me gently.

"Miss, don't worry; I'll protect you. Dreams are just dreams, after all."

He thinks my memories of my past life are just dreams, but he doesn't completely disbelieve them, and he's the only one I can confide in about my troubles.

Sid is a handsome man with smooth black hair and red eyes. He is 19 years old, three years older than me.

He is the highly acclaimed strongest mage in the Roselia Kingdom, brought to me by my doting father, who has since passed away.

Though hidden by his gray robe, his muscular yet slender build is exactly my type.

He is easily over 180 cm tall, with long legs clad in black undergarments, slender arms, and a red earring shining in his right ear.

He is incredibly handsome, even though he's not a character from a novel.

I can't thank my late father enough for assigning Sid as my bodyguard.

"Miss, if you have the power of foresight, you can change it."

"Ugh...! Is it still possible?"

"Yes."

Sid nodded with a gentle smile.

I'm overjoyed that he never mocks my stories and promises to protect me after careful consideration.

If I had known I would become the villainous lady before my reincarnation, I would have thought, "Just run away!"

But I couldn't.

I clearly remembered my past life around the age of 10, by which time I was already engaged.

Moreover, I had a loving father and a kind, sweet-smelling mother. They both died in an accident when I was 12...

Now, I have a beautiful, intelligent, and slightly timid older brother.

I couldn't abandon my family and run away, and I didn't want to cause them any trouble... So I ended up where I am today.

That's why I intended to push the prince onto the heroine... I mean, to help create a beautiful romance.

"Unbelievable...!"

The National Roselia Academy is a place where noble children almost always attend. Even if they are poor, they borrow scholarships to attend, as they won't get good marriage proposals or jobs otherwise.

"Where is Baroness Kukurika Lally? We're in trouble if she doesn't enroll!"

I lamented in the salon. Sid, crouching next to me, looked at the roster and said gently,

"Miss, if she hasn't enrolled, perhaps your foresight was wrong, or maybe you've changed the future by working hard."

"Because I worked hard?"

"Yes."

When I looked up, he smiled as usual. His smile made my heart flutter, but now wasn't the time to be swooning.

"I only worked hard to prevent our family from falling into ruin, to study, and to train in magic. I haven't been able to make contact with Baroness Kukurika Lally."

I only recently remembered her name, and thinking about the heroine always left a cloud over my mind.

I never imagined that she would go missing as soon as I remembered her.

"Maybe this isn't a world from a novel...?"

Sid offered me a lifeline as I pondered.

"I'll instruct the spies to look for Baroness Kukurika Lally. Miss, please think about tomorrow's enrollment ceremony. I'm sure the uniform will suit you perfectly."

That's right.

I can't show a pitiful appearance.

Even if my engagement is eventually broken, I must be a perfect lady, leaving no room for condemnation.

Finally, I calmed down, stood up smoothly, and wiped away my tears.

"Of course the uniform will suit me!"

I looked at Sid with my usual bold and authoritative attitude.

He chuckled as if enduring something and nodded.

"Yes, of course, Miss. If you like, I can help you change."

"I don't need your help!"

I slapped away his offered hand and left the salon, returning to my room.
