"It's an invitation from the emperor to the land declaration. It will surely cause a stir throughout the capital."
The servant of Valhalla opened the reception room door wide and said politely,
"You may use this room. I will prepare some refreshments, so please wait a moment."
As soon as the servants left, Raul cast several layers of powerful security magic.
Willow had a perfectionistic attitude, absolutely unable to believe it.
"Damn. Not only the Magic Association, but the royal family too?"
I asked about what I had been curious about all along.
"But why did you come here?"
Raul sat down in a chair and said sharply,
"I received news of what happened yesterday. I thought for sure those disgusting old men wouldn't leave you alone. As expected, my prediction didn't go wrong."
Then he looked at me with an annoyed expression and started nagging.
"And if you had such abilities, you should have told your father first."
"Y-yes..."
"Magicians often hold a moral high ground that transcends status when it comes to matters involving demons. Even if you are a noble lady, if you lack a moral high ground, your status is just a facade. Don't be complacent."
But, isn't it a bit unfair?
"I didn't know I had such abilities. I certainly didn't expect such a commotion."
I pouted and mumbled, and Raul shook his head.
"Does it make sense not to know? When I was your age, I was married and had a child. How can you be so naive about the world?"
Ugh. Attacking my era, huh? I lost.
"I'll let you know in advance from now on."
With my surrender, Raul finally stopped nagging.
I hurriedly tore open the emperor's invitation before he could start another lecture.
The invitation was written in very cliché and formal language, saying, "Come to the Sun Palace alone this Sunday. If you don't come, you will die."
"Without even learning proper etiquette or getting to know each other, an invitation to the Sun Palace? How many steps has this story skipped?"
The thought of my precious weekend being spent on an unpleasant matter was deeply regrettable.
Raul also clicked his tongue upon confirming it was a simple invitation.
"Calling an unmarried noble lady to the Sun Palace alone? His Majesty must be suffering from dementia at a young age."
Ah, no. Even with the security magic, that's a bit too harsh, isn't it?
"Stop by home before going to the palace. His Majesty places great importance on etiquette, so you must pay attention to your appearance."
When visiting the royal family, one must dress appropriately to match the occasion.
Since the only clothes I brought to the dormitory were school uniforms or casual dresses, it would be best to follow Raul's advice.
"Got it. I'll go home with Revi on Friday."
At that, Raul smiled kindly for the first time today.
"I'll be waiting."
Actually, it might be the first time in my memory.
Feeling a bit awkward, I fidgeted with my hands.
