Chapter 6.2

Because of the basketball game, the whole class was in harmony. Gu Jianan quickly became the focus of the class, and Ye Chen also became the captain of the cheerleaders, specializing in the squad’s logistics.

The last day of the finals was held in the basketball stadium. There was a clear distinction between the junior section and the high school section as they sat on the two sides. Before the start of the game, the cheerleaders cheered on the players. As the captain, Ye Chen kept talking with Zhou Yucheng. Gu Jianan stood on the other side and listened to Fang Xiao chittering beside his ear, his gaze sweeping to Ye Chen the entire time.

Recently, Ye Chen’s new hair had grown out. She cheered on Zhou Yucheng, but Zhou Yucheng didn’t really say much. With a playful smile on the corner of his mouth, he looked at her black hair, and suddenly said, “Now that your hair’s grown out, don’t dye it anymore.”

“We will definitely win…eh?” Ye Chen raised her head and was dumbfounded. Zhou Yucheng laughed out. Looking at the dumbfounded Ye Chen, he raised his hand to rub her hair as he said “You’re obviously very pretty, how come you’re always dressed like this?”

“Ye Chen!”

Gu Jianan felt that all the anger in his heart suddenly rushed up as he watched Zhou Yucheng rubbing Ye Chen’s hair and listened to him chatting with Ye Chen happily.

He couldn’t help but pull Ye Chen over. Both Ye Chen and Zhou Yucheng were dumbfounded. Gu Jianan opened his mouth, feeling a little awkward. He didn’t know why he wanted to pull Ye Chen over, or why he didn’t like Ye Chen talking to Zhou Yucheng. He just did it as he thought of this.

Ye Chen watched Gu Jianan blush, and thought that he came to have her cheer himself on. Thus, she patted Gu Jianan on the shoulder and said cheerfully, “Jianan, don’t be nervous, fight well, we will win!”

Ye Chen’s eyes fell on him, and Gu Jianan finally no longer felt too anxious. He turned his face away, and blushed as he felt the temperature in Ye Chen’s hands, blushing, and quietly answered, “En.”

Thinking a little, he then added, “We will win.”

“I believe in you!”

Ye Chen’s eyes were full of trust. A whistle sounded out from the back afterwards and Ye Chen and company were driven out. Gu Jianan watched Ye Chen leave. The girl skipped her way to the audience’s platform, and then made a cheering gesture towards him.

Zhou Yucheng secretly snorted and suddenly felt that this scene was, for some reason, a bit of an eyesore.

Ye Chen noticed that Zhou Yucheng was also watching her, and after freezing for a bit, she also made a cheering gesture towards him!

The whole stadium went quiet. Shortly after, the ball went into the basket. At the same time, the whistle sounded.

The cheers filled the hall in an instant, but Ye Chen saw that Gu Jianan fell immediately upon landing on the ground because his posture was off when he jumped earlier.

She didn’t have time to scream, and ran hastily all the way to the stadium. By the time she got to the stadium, Gu Jianan was already supported down by someone. He sprained his foot, and everyone was chatting with him. After school, Ye Chen pushed out the bicycle and waited for Gu Jianan.

Ever since Gu Jianan moved in, Ye Chen stopped letting the driver pick her up and drop her off. Gu Jianan watched as Ye Chen pushed the bicycle over, sat on the bicycle, patted the back seat, and said to him, “Come on.”

“Didn’t you think the electric motorcycle was too noisy, and a bicycle had more of a school life kind of feeling?”

As Gu Jianan sat behind Ye Chen, he frowned, and earnestly wondered, “Why change it?”

“I…I’m so tired from riding it.” It was really tiring to drag along a young boy who weighed a hundred pounds.

Gu Jianan responded in a low voice, a little embarrassed, and said, “Then I will escort you in the future.”

“Okay sure!” At the thought of someone as handsome as Gu Jianan riding a bicycle to carry her, Ye Chen felt that her regretful school life was finally filled.
