Chapter 7.1

In the end, Gu Jianan chose not to say anything as he held the ticket, and left after buying groceries together with Ye Chen. When the two went to get their bicycle, Gu Jianan’s stepfather, Zhang Shan, was standing at the entrance of the postal booth to buy cigarettes. When his gaze swept over, he saw Gu Jianan.

What Gu Jianan wore now was much better than before. Even when he wasn’t wearing the school uniform, he was wearing a clean white Tee and jeans, standing together with Ye Chen while carrying things, chatting with his head lowered. Gu Jianan was a little taller than Ye Chen although he was not considered to be tall amongst the boys of his same age. After being raised for a while, he had grown some flesh out so he didn’t appear as small and skinny as the first time they met.

Zhang Shan rubbed his eyes, a little bit unsure whether or not the person talking was Gu Jianan. But they really looked too similar. He pondered about it before catching up and following them.

Watching how Gu Jianan followed Ye Chen into a high-end community, Zhang Shan was then certain that this was Gu Jianan.

Although he had gained some weight and changed his hairstyle and clothes, he was all too familiar with that displeased expression on his face and his gait.

Moreover, Gu Jianan himself could originally speak, it’s just that after he was beaten up by him once when he said something wrong as a child, from then on, he stopped talking. Thus, seeing Gu Jianan and Ye Chen chatting was not enough to dispel his doubts.

He squatted outside the apartment for the whole night. After the final exam, the two were let out on vacation. After Ye Chen slept until she naturally woke up, she walked out in her pajamas and rubbed her eyes as she said to Gu Jianan, who was making breakfast in the kitchen, “Gu Jianan, I want to eat fried dough fritters and soy milk. I don’t want to have omelette anymore.”

Although last night, it was already decided that Gu Jianan would make omelette in the morning, he had already gotten used to her spontaneous requests. Nodding, he said, “I’ll go buy it.”

Every month, Ye Chen will give Gu Jianan a part of her huge amount of pocket money. Her father was too rich and gave her too much pocket money, so even if Ye Chen just gave a part of it casually, it was already several thousands.

Gu Jianan saved all the money, taking out only a few hundred dollars out every month, just like an ordinary student, no difference.

He turned off the stove and went downstairs to buy soy milk and fried dough fritters. As soon as he walked out of the community, a familiar voice stopped him, “Gu Jianan!”

Gu Jianan’s body stiffened as a huge fear instantly enveloped him. He pretended to be calm and pretended not to have heard anything as he turned back.

However, Zhang Shan directly rushed over and grabbed him. Gu Jianan shouted, “What are you doing!”

“Gu Jianan, you better f—ing stop pretending with me!” Zhang Shan lowered his voice, “Follow me, otherwise I will stand here and reveal how you’re cohabiting with that little girl!”

Gu Jianan’s countenance changed instantly.

They were all still students. Although he and Ye Chen lived in their own separate rooms, if this matter spreaded, Gu Jianan didn’t even have to think to know what kind of unpleasant words Ye Chen would face.

He calmed down and said to Zhang Shan, “Let’s talk somewhere else.”

Zhang Shan also didn’t want to talk to him at the door of the community anymore; the two were on the same page. Gu Jianan took Zhang Shan to a small alleyway that did not have a camera. When Zhang Shan saw that there was no one around, he kicked out with his foot and scolded, “Look at you, so young and already know how to hook up with a rich woman as a little wolf dog? That little girl must be pretty rich right? How much money did you make from her, hand it over quickly!”

Gu Jianan was kicked to the ground by Zhang Shan. He didn’t say anything as countless thoughts immediately entered his mind.

“Talk!” Zhang Shan kicked his stomach again and said angrily, “You’re not f—ing talking right? I’ll go to your school right now to tell them what’s going on between you two, I’ll see how that bitch…”

“I will give you money at night.”

Gu Jianan spoke directly. Zhang Shan was stunned, and then he heard him say, “How much do you want? After giving this money, don’t you come find me anymore. From here on, everything between us is cleared alright?”

“That’s fine.” Zhang Shan opened his mouth and said, “Give me fifty thousand, and I won’t find you from now on.”

“Okay.” Gu Jianan said, “Waiting for me at home at night. I will come back to cook and bring the money over.”

Zhang Shan answered. Looking at Gu Jianan, who had fallen to the ground, he sneered in his heart, the child was still naive, if he could really give him fifty thousand, how could he possibly let such a cash cow go?

Gu Jianan didn’t say anything. He lowered his eyes and said coldly, “I need to go back. She’ll be suspicious if I get back late.”

“Go on.”

Zhang Shan said joyfully. Gu Jianan struggled to get up, walked out, and bought soy milk and fried dough fritters from the fritter stall. There was a teenager that had a similar figure to his that was currently eating fritters. Gu Jianan swept a glance at him. From the looks and clothing of the other party, he could quickly see that he was a man who lacked money and work outside usually.

So he walked over and patted his shoulder.

“Brother, do you work part-time?”

The other party was stunned and raised his head. Gu Jianan sat beside him and whispered, “It’s a very simple thing. Watch a movie and send a girl home. I’ll give you three hundred dollars as compensation. How about it?”

The other party raised his head and said decisively, “Deal!”
