Chapter 25: Chairman Lu is Very Angry

After leaving the principal's office, Li Yi was still a bit dazed. He didn't even know why he was so excited and had proposed that idea without hesitation.

Li Yi walked over to Guo Xiaoling and gently tapped her desk: "Hi, Xiaoling."

Guo Xiaoling softly hummed in response.

"The money owed to Mr. Wang..."

"Don't worry about it, I'll figure it out myself." Guo Xiaoling quickly said before Li Yi could finish.

"Okay. I've already raised the money and will pay Mr. Wang back. Also, the relationship between me and Liu Ruosi isn't what you think. I have nothing to do with her."

"Whether you have anything to do with her is none of my business." Guo Xiaoling's tone was icy.

"Alright, then." Li Yi said, somewhat disappointed.

Li Yi had little interest in the Chinese literature courses. In recent days, he had been studying the party-building materials and party member exam materials given by the principal.

He didn't know what he was missing until he got hooked. Through studying the party's development history and ideology, he developed a strong interest in the party. He went to the library and read a lot of related materials, finding them fascinating despite their dryness. A few days later, he scored a perfect score on the exam, the highest in that session, even higher than the president and vice president of the student council, which greatly surprised the principal.

On the day the results were announced, Li Yi was sitting in the classroom, studying a thick book on party history.

A boy walked straight up to him and tapped his desk: "Li Yi, right? I'm Zeng Xiaoqiang from the student council. Go to the student council office! The chairman wants to see you!"

"Chairman?" Li Yi found it amusing: "Is he disabled? Can't he walk?"

Zeng Xiaoqiang didn't understand what he meant and shook his head.

"If he really needs to see me, he can come over." Li Yi said indifferently and continued reading.

Zeng Xiaoqiang gave him a thumbs up: "Impressive! You really are impressive! You even dare to offend Chairman Lu!"

Li Yi didn't even lift his eyelids.

Seeing no one paying attention to him, Zeng Xiaoqiang felt disappointed and left.

Zhou Ziqi came over and said, "Li Yi, Lu Jun isn't someone to mess with. He's known for being aggressive in the student council. Be careful."

Li Yi smiled: "I haven't offended him, and I don't even know him."

"He called you, and you didn't go!" Zhou Ziqi blinked, deciding to give this dolt some advice.

"He's just a student like me. Why should I go just because he calls me?" Li Yi's logic was straightforward.

Zhou Ziqi tilted her head and thought: "You're right!"

They talked for a few minutes, and the classroom door was knocked on again. A loud voice rang out: "Who is Li Yi? The student council wants to see you!"

There weren't many students in the classroom, and they glared at the tall, muscular student, but no one spoke.

Zhou Ziqi whispered, "The guy is Hu Gang, a loyal supporter of Lu Jun. Be careful." Then she retreated to her seat.

Hu Gang immediately spotted Li Yi, who was reading with his head down. He matched the description given by Zeng Xiaoqiang and walked over confidently.

Just as Hu Gang was about to pat Li Yi's shoulder, a cold female voice interrupted: "Excuse me, what do you want?"

Hu Gang saw a beautiful girl standing in front of him and his anger subsided a bit. He laughed: "I'm looking for Li Yi from your class."

"What do you want with Li Yi?"

"Who are you?" Hu Gang's tone hardened when he saw the girl's coldness.

"I'm the class president!" Guo Xiaoling stood next to Li Yi, looking at Hu Gang fearlessly: "You barged in here so aggressively, what do you want?"

Hu Gang waved his hand: "I'm not looking for you, I'm looking for Li Yi! Li Yi, Chairman Lu has spoken. You have five minutes to report to the student council office."

Li Yi looked up, glanced at him, and frowned: "Are you talking to me?"

"If not you, who? Chairman Lu has taken an interest in you, and you're being so stubborn. What's with the attitude? Kid, you can't pretend to be an elephant just by putting a scallion on your nose!" Hu Gang was enraged by Li Yi's indifference and deliberate ignoring.

Guo Xiaoling shouted: "Hey, get out! No cursing in our class!"

Hu Gang waved his fist: "Back off! My fists don't hit women!"

Li Yi suddenly stood up, pulling Guo Xiaoling behind him, and sneered: "You're so tall and strong, you don't need a scallion to look like an elephant! I wonder how your family feeds you, you're even better than the pig-raising champion in our village."

"Ha ha ha!" The classroom erupted in unrestrained laughter.

Hu Gang's face, full of muscles, twitched with anger: "You called me a pig?"

"That's what you said." Li Yi shrugged.

Hu Gang let out a loud cry, clenched his fists, and swung a punch at Li Yi's forehead.

"Bang!" Just as Hu Gang's fist was about to hit, it was struck by a book that flew out from somewhere, blinding him. Fearing another hit, he retracted his fist and took three steps back.

Guo Xiaoling's face was angry, and she pointed at Hu Gang: "What a nerve, coming to our class to hit people! Classmates, go call the principal and security!"

The book that hit Hu Gang was the one she had thrown.

Hearing that the principal and security would be called, Hu Gang felt nervous and said with a false bravado: "You wait! Chairman Lu is very angry and won't let this go!"

Li Yi didn't expect the usually gentle, virtuous, and quiet Guo Xiaoling to be so fearless and charming when protecting someone. Afraid that Hu Gang might suddenly attack Guo Xiaoling, he quickly stepped in front of her and said to Hu Gang: "You're the student council, not the legislative council of an island, and certainly not a gang! Don't just swing your fists and kick your legs. Go back and tell Lu that if he has something to say, he should come to me! I'll be waiting!"
