Chapter 31: A Crazy Phone Call

Li Zhengyu, seeing the gravity and emotion in his words, and even the quiver in his voice, felt his head buzz and anxiously asked, "What happened? Who bullied you? Or did something happen to your mother? Speak quickly! I don’t believe anyone would dare to bully my Li family’s child! Which scoundrel has the nerve to do this!"

At this moment, the security guards from the school’s security office also arrived and asked, "What’s going on? Where is the thief?"

Vice Principal Xu Shaonong pointed at Li Yi and was about to say, "It’s him!" but then heard Li Yi, with a quivering voice, say, "Uncle, the H308 flight departing from Haodu City at noon must be stopped from taking off! Can you help me with this?"

Xu Shaonong pondered for a moment and waved his hand, "Wait! Let him finish the call."

Thus, a group of people watched Li Yi with intense scrutiny.

On the other end of the phone, Li Zhengyu drew a sharp breath and asked uncertainly, "Xiao Yi, what did you just say?"

Li Yi repeated each word slowly, "Today at noon, at twelve o'clock, the H308 flight departing from Haodu Airport must be stopped from taking off! It must be stopped!"

Li Zhengyu’s mind went blank for a moment. If it weren’t for the fact that the person on the other end of the phone was his own nephew, and if he hadn’t seen him in person not long ago, he would have every reason to suspect that the other party was a lunatic, a complete and utter madman! He would have hung up the phone without hesitation!

But he didn’t, because he knew Li Yi was normal. He also understood that with Li Yi’s strong character and intense self-respect, he wouldn’t easily make this call even if he were starving to death!

He had left this number for him with only a sliver of hope!

He had even prepared to make another trip to Southern Province to persuade him.

Therefore, he believed that Li Yi must have a reason to do this!

"Reason!" Li Zhengyu coldly spat out two words.

"The H308 flight has a problem. It will explode and crash five minutes after takeoff, causing an unimaginable disaster!"

As Li Yi spoke, the memories of this air disaster resurfaced in his mind.

This air disaster didn’t just claim the lives of the Chu Lianxin family, or the dozen or so flight attendants, or the hundreds of passengers on the plane!

"The worst part is that the plane will explode and crash, and the crash site will be right at the oil depot south of Haodu Airport!" Li Yi almost gritted his teeth as he said these words: "The explosion will trigger a massive fire and a series of explosions! It will cause a chain reaction, a series of explosions and fires, an endless sea of flames, a living hell."

Li Zhengyu was shaken and asked doubtfully, "Xiao Yi, as far as I know, you’ve never been to Haodu City. How can you know the situation there so well? And why are you so sure?"

"Uncle, there’s no time to explain! Another five minutes have passed!" Li Yi was almost in despair. Even Li Zhengyu was doubting him. Who in this world would believe his crazy words?

"Believe me, Uncle! If you can, please stop it! Please stop it! Must! Must!" Li Yi’s voice was hoarse as he made his final effort.

These cries shook everyone present!

Li Zhengyu was silent for a moment and then said, "I believe you! The problem is, I need others to believe me!"

Li Yi felt utterly hopeless.

"But!" As Li Yi was in despair, Li Zhengyu gave him a glimmer of hope: "I will talk to the old man. If he is willing to speak up, then everything will be fine. Wait for my news!"

The phone went dead with a busy signal. Li Yi put down the phone in a daze, feeling drenched in sweat. In just a few minutes, he had been so nervous that he had broken out in a cold sweat. Now, with his spirit relaxed, he felt utterly drained.

Li Yi was extremely agitated. If he hadn’t remembered this, it would have been fine. But now that he remembered, he couldn’t stop it from happening. The feeling was like being burned alive, like being fried in a pot of oil.

Perhaps, everything has changed!

Perhaps, the tragedy won’t happen?

Li Yi optimistically consoled himself.

But his heart grew increasingly uneasy. No, such a major tragedy must be prevented, better safe than sorry. The butterfly effect of rebirth couldn’t come so quickly and so drastically.

Time ticked by minute by minute. Li Yi could almost see the scene of her and many others waiting in the airport terminal for their flight.

They must be anxiously waiting to board the plane, right?

Little did they know that ahead lay the underworld, the realm of the dead, and one step forward would mean entering the cycle of rebirth!

Everyone in the room looked at Li Yi as if he were an alien, their expressions complex.

The security guard broke the silence, "This student, please come with me!"

Li Yi nodded, got up, and followed the security guard. Before leaving, he said to Vice Principal Xu Shaonong, "Thank you for not interrupting my call. Perhaps, many people will be saved because of this call."

Xu Shaonong’s face was stern, and he didn’t respond.

The principal was on a business trip. Besides him, the vice principal, only the principal’s secretary, Fu Qiang, had the key to this office.

He had seen the broken door and knew it had been kicked open from the inside!

Xu Shaonong’s office was next to the principal’s. He was the first to react and rush over. However, when he arrived, there were already three people in the room. Li Yi had broken in, but what about Fu Qiang and the new female teacher? What were they doing inside?

This question was easy to imagine. Any normal adult could guess.

Xu Shaonong coldly stared at Fu Qiang and the new female teacher, making them feel extremely cold.

Xu Shaonong simply said, "You two, starting today, you don’t need to come to work anymore." He didn’t give them a chance to explain and turned to leave.

Fu Qiang and the female teacher were instantly chilled to the bone. The female teacher angrily glared at Fu Qiang and blamed him, "It’s all your fault! You insisted on doing it here, saying it was the safest place! You’ve cost me my job!" She burst into tears.

Fu Qiang felt as if he had fallen into an ice pit. He didn’t know how to explain to his wife, let alone have the energy to care about her.

The teachers watching the scene all had a look of realization, followed by disdain and disgust.

The two security guards took Li Yi to the security office.

Only now did Li Yi realize the trouble he had caused. Regardless of whether he could stop the flight, the charge of breaking into the principal’s office was enough to get him into serious trouble.
