Yun Zheng carried He Jianqiang along the stream downstream. Only by returning to civilization could he support both He Jianqiang and himself. He didn't believe that the limited survival skills he had learned as a child would be enough to take good care of He Jianqiang.
The human body is fragile, with thin skin, brittle bones, and not sharp enough nails, and not strong enough legs. In the wild, apart from a flexible brain, one is almost useless.
Where there are wild pandas, there must be great dangers. Yun Zheng didn't dare to stay long. Taking advantage of the early light, he needed to find a safe place for He Jianqiang.
A bamboo spear with a burnt and sharpened tip was his only safety equipment. Yun Zheng set out with a sense of tragic determination. A path is made by walking; how would he know if there was a path if he didn't walk it?
The mountains and water were beautiful, with green grass on both sides of the stream. Perhaps startled by the sound of Yun Zheng's bamboo spear striking the reeds, colorful pheasants would often flutter out of the grass and fly to a distance.
He Jianqiang's eyes were filled with curiosity as he looked at the mountains, occasionally whispering his observations to Yun Zheng. He would say that one mountain looked like a horse, another tree like a big umbrella, and then lament that Yun Zheng hadn't caught a pheasant.
Both of them were in good spirits. Yun Zheng was a carefree person, and his early experiences had already given him a resigned adult mindset. He Jianqiang seemed to be in a constant state of excitement. To him, escaping his previous life and getting a chance to relive his short life was the greatest reward from heaven.
Yun Zheng didn't pay much attention to He Jianqiang. His mind was preoccupied with the vanished wall. Indeed, when he broke through that wall and came to this world, there was nothing behind him, not even debris.
It's not a good idea to think while walking. This was a very incorrect thing to do. The rugged, rocky path soon gave him a lesson. His foot slipped, and a sharp edge of a rock cut a long gash on his calf, blood gushing out like a spring.
He found a clear spot and set He Jianqiang down. The blood had already soaked his pant leg. Just as He Jianqiang was about to speak, Yun Zheng stopped him. His eyes darted around, ensuring there was no danger before lifting his pant leg to examine the wound.
Fortunately, it was just a superficial wound. The cut was large but not deep. He picked two dandelions, chewed them into a paste, and placed it on a large leaf, which he then applied to the wound. He tore off a piece of the lining from his own clothes and tightly bound his leg.
"Teacher, you shouldn't bind the wound so tightly," He Jianqiang finally said hesitantly.
"You're right, Jianqiang, but if I don't bind it tightly, the blood smell will attract wild beasts. We have to ignore the details for now and find a safe place to deal with it properly," Yun Zheng said with a smile as he washed the blood off his pant leg.
The two set off again. Yun Zheng noticed that the wildlife here was incredibly abundant. Monkeys leaped in groups from tree to tree, wild boars grunted as they wandered through the ravines, and he even spotted a fiery red fox carrying a small fox and hurriedly disappearing into the bushes, apparently moving its den.
The trees where the monkeys lived were laden with fruit, a kind of unknown pear. However, if the monkeys could eat it, humans could too. As he took a few steps closer, the monkeys on the tree became agitated, grabbing the branches and shaking them violently. A large, muscular monkey king even jumped to the ground, baring its teeth at Yun Zheng. Afraid of injuring He Jianqiang on his back, Yun Zheng slowly retreated.
Seeing Yun Zheng leave, the monkey king yawned lazily, quickly climbed back up the tree, and roared at the other monkeys, showing off his strength.
If they could eat some pears, it would be quite nice. A bit of sugar would be important for the two of them struggling in the wild.
"Teacher, put me down, and go get the pears."
"Brat, didn't you see that the monkey king is bigger than you? Do you think it's fun to watch your teacher die while you stand by? Or have you had this idea all along?"
"Liang Weiwei said that among the teachers, you're still one of the better ones. At least you don't threaten to call parents. You're just a bit ugly, not as handsome as the teachers in comics. So, to punish your ugliness, she made everyone tease you."
"Nonsense. Although I'm not as handsome as a willow tree, I'm still considered a good-looking guy. Did you know, my girlfriend is very beautiful."
"That woman with the buck teeth? The whole class thought you were crazy. To win a wife, you were so submissive to such an ugly woman, it was really unbecoming. So Liang Weiwei hacked your phone and sent a text message for you."
"And then? Yun Zheng's eyes almost bulged out. No wonder Xiao Xi never contacted him again. Knowing those kids, the text message must have been extremely vicious.
"And then? And then nothing. That woman came to find you, and He Pengcheng threatened his sister to pretend to be your new girlfriend. When that woman saw He Pengcheng's sister, she left."
Yun Zheng smiled bitterly. He Pengcheng's sister was a very beautiful girl. If he had such a beautiful girlfriend, it would be great. Although Xiao Xi was ordinary in appearance, she had a strong sense of self-respect. Seeing He Pengcheng's sister, she wouldn't have stayed.
What should have been a very angry matter now didn't seem worth getting angry about. But Liang Weiwei and He Pengcheng weren't here, and He Jianqiang was still here. The brat had to be punished for his wrongdoings.
Yun Zheng carried He Jianqiang back to the tall fruit tree, picked up a stone, and threw it at the monkeys. The monkeys were furious. Yun Zheng waved his bamboo spear a few times, and the monkey king immediately climbed to the highest branch.
So, Yun Zheng picked up more stones and continued throwing them at the monkeys. The monkeys became even angrier, their cries echoing through the valley. He Jianqiang, frightened, watched as his teacher picked up another stone and threw it, shouting, "You're too petty, don't be so vengeful."
Yun Zheng chuckled and immediately crouched down, covering his head. A rain of fruit fell, burying both of them...
The wild pears were surprisingly not sour, sweet and juicy. He Jianqiang's head had two large bumps, and his eyes were hit by a pear, which would likely turn black and blue soon. But he still looked cute, holding the pear and eating it sweetly.
Yun Zheng took off his pants, rolled up the pant leg, and put the intact pears inside. He slung the pants over his shoulder, picked up He Jianqiang, and continued on his way. As long as they were alive, they had to keep moving. If they were moving, they had to move well, steadily, and for the long term.
