“A cat that could see you means that it is spiritually-inclined. Master said that a spiritually-inclined cat is an extremely rare being, and is very useful. Let’s catch it.” After finishing his words, the boy walked towards the black cat. He cajoled it as he moved nearer, “Here kitty kitty, be good okay. I’ll buy dried fish treats for you to eat.”

The black cat did not respond and maintained its guarded stance. It looked at the surroundings from time to time, checking if there were any escape routes from the room door or the windows.

“I know that you can understand me. The intellect of a spiritually-inclined cat is similar to an 8-year old human child. Since you are able to seek out souls, you are definitely much more intelligent.” Gentleman Ghost smiled.

The black cat’s fur stood up on end as it gave a nod back in humiliation.

“So obedient.” Ghost Gentleman sat on the sofa and started to shoot questions, “It was the witch that sent you to come find me? Yes or no?”

The black cat nodded.

“The witch wants to kill me?”

The black cat did not know the answer to that and thus did not move.

“The witch only sent you to seek me out and report back to her afterwards?” Ghost Gentleman continued to question.

The black cat nodded.

“However, since you have been captured by me, you would not be able to pass the information to her.” Ghost Gentleman contemplated for a while. He smacked the folding fan held by his right hand into the palm of his left hand, having come up with an idea. “Alright, why don’t you give the witch a call? Maybe she would be able to find this place after looking into the phone number.”

The black cat blinked its eyes in puzzlement.

“Do you remember her number?” Ghost Gentleman asked.

The black cat shook its head.

“You don’t remember?” Ghost Gentleman’s brows furrowed together.

The black cat nodded.

“It looks like the stories are fake. A spiritually-inclined cat doesn’t even have the intellect of an 8-year old kid. It can’t even remember a phone number.” Ghost Gentleman sighed.

“Mrreow!” The black cat was enraged. Did the other man think that it did not know that he was insulting it? So what if it could not remember a phone number? It did not know how to read numbers in the first place. Besides, Wu Miaomiao had never informed it of her number before.
