However, despite his laziness, he couldn't afford to miss important things. Fang Tianfeng carefully recalled what he had learned in his dream, repeating it silently in his mind several times to solidify his memory.

The old man in his dream had said a lot. Some of it was simple and could be understood with just one look; some of it was profound and required a long time to comprehend.

What Fang Tianfeng needed to do now was not to grasp things randomly but to remember everything and wait for the right time to ponder over it slowly.

"Xiaofeng, it's time to eat!" A gentle voice came from the kitchen.

At the dining table, several dishes were already laid out, all simple home-cooked dishes: cumin beef, tomato and egg stir-fry, meat stir-fried with bell peppers, and a small bowl of pickled vegetables, along with two steaming bowls of rice.

The two of them chatted while eating. Since they were already very close, and Shen Xin was a very nice person, the atmosphere was very harmonious. Shen Xin's cooking skills were impeccable, and Fang Tianfeng even felt a sense of home.

After the meal, they talked about taking care of the villa. Shen Xin told him the address of the villa, gave him the keys, and provided the phone number of the property manager.

The villa was far from Shen Xin's residence, and it took her an hour to drive there. She had to go to work today and couldn't take Fang Tianfeng there, so she drove him to the No. 65 bus stop first.

Before parting, Shen Xin said she would go to the villa after work to give some specific instructions. Then, she fell back into her old habits, giving Fang Tianfeng a flying kiss and a flirtatious wink, and finally giggling as she drove away.

Fang Tianfeng looked helpless, but everyone on the platform was staring at him. When someone mentioned that Shen Xin's car was a Cayenne worth at least a million, everyone's expressions changed.

Fang Tianfeng instantly understood their looks.

A kept man!

Fang Tianfeng wanted to say that she was his sister, but he couldn't. He watched the red Cayenne about to disappear, thinking that he only recognized the Porsche logo and didn't understand what a Cayenne was.

On the No. 65 bus, Fang Tianfeng walked to the back, stood steady, and took out his phone to search for "Yunhai City, Chang'an Garden, Dongjiang Province." He wanted to see the layout of the villa to have a clear idea.

Soon, he found the floor plan online and was amazed.

"This is too exaggerated! Three floors plus a half-basement, the living area exceeds 400 square meters. It would take more than an hour to clean the floors. The third-floor viewing balcony is dozens of square meters. Bathroom? Is it a large bathroom? And what's a walk-in closet? Is it for guests to put their clothes and hats? But why is it on the second floor and not the first?"

Fang Tianfeng searched for "walk-in closet" with doubts. He quickly learned that a walk-in closet is a relatively independent room specifically for storing clothes and shoes, equivalent to a super-large wardrobe.

He was enlightened, vaguely remembering that walk-in closets often appeared in foreign movies and American TV shows, but he only learned the formal name today.

"There's also a dressing room. No need to search; it must be a room specifically for makeup, definitely a rich person's luxury!"

Fang Tianfeng searched for more pictures and found that the largest bathroom in the villa was even bigger than his rented bedroom, making him feel a lot of pressure.

Soon, he had a new doubt. A villa worth tens of millions had no reason to be left unoccupied while hiring someone to look after it. So he continued searching and soon found out the details on a local forum.

It turned out that when Chang'an Garden was preparing to develop its second phase, Changda Group stopped construction, and the boss fled to the United States.

Someone on the forum revealed that years ago, the father of the Changda boss had forced a vice mayor of Yunhai City to leave. However, last year, that person not only returned to Yunhai City but also became the executive vice governor of Dongjiang Province, the fourth most powerful person in the province!

This executive vice governor, due to his connection with a powerful figure in Beijing, was a hot candidate for the next governor. His son was also a tough character, vowing to take revenge for the old grudge as soon as he returned to Yunhai.

Now, the father of the Changda boss had passed away, and his influence had greatly diminished. Several shareholders withdrew their shares upon hearing the news, and the bank demanded repayment, causing a cash flow problem for Changda. The boss of Changda had no ability to compete with the fourth most powerful person in the province and was unwilling to be manipulated, so he fled to the United States to avoid the storm.

Thus, all the villas in Chang'an Garden were left vacant. Those who bought them didn't live there, and those who didn't buy them wouldn't buy now. With the current uncertain situation, no one would offend the fourth most powerful person in the province or even the future second most powerful person for a villa.

Fang Tianfeng didn't know much about the domestic political scene, but he understood that in a province, the party secretary was the first, the governor was the second, the deputy party secretary was the third, and the executive vice governor was the fourth.

If Dongjiang Province were a small country, its area would rank around 70th in the world, and its population would rank around 30th, showing how powerful the fourth most powerful person in the province was.

This was just one person's account. Some on the forum thought the informant was spreading rumors, while others claimed that the Changda boss had long transferred his assets to his foreign wife and children but used the excuse of going to the United States for study to avoid the storm.

Fang Tianfeng couldn't verify the truth, but he felt relieved. Even if it were true, it would be a fight between powerful figures and wouldn't affect him.

After getting off the bus, Fang Tianfeng walked towards Chang'an Garden.

Chang'an Garden was located in the western part of Yunhai City, less than a 20-minute drive from Yunhai Airport and less than a 10-minute drive from the provincial hospital. The surrounding facilities were complete. Chang'an Garden was blocked by a dark red wall, and Fang Tianfeng only saw the villas inside when he reached the entrance.

The trees, gardens, and lawns nearby were well-maintained, looking vibrant, but looking further, there was a sense of decay.

The security booth at the entrance of Chang'an Garden was large, and four security guards were playing cards inside, all looking at Fang Tianfeng.

Fang Tianfeng took out his phone and called the number Shen Xin had given him.

"Hello."

"Hello, Manager Bi. I'm Fang Tianfeng. Sister Xin said I would come, and I'm now at the entrance of Chang'an Garden."

"Oh, it's you, Xiao Fang. Please wait, I'm almost there."

Fang Tianfeng stood at the entrance. Soon, the four security guards came out of the booth, all smiling. They were dressed sloppily, with stains on their uniforms, looking very rough and careless.

The middle-aged man in the lead, holding a cigarette, smiled and extended his hand, saying, "Are you Fang Tianfeng? Manager Bi said you'll be living here. If you need anything, just call us, and we'll be there to help. I'm Xin Lao San. If you give me some face, call me Brother San."

Fang Tianfeng didn't expect the security guards in such a luxurious villa complex to be like this, but he thought that since the developer had fled, there were no residents, and the property management company didn't get much money, the management must be lax. These people were likely not formal security guards but thugs.

Fang Tianfeng shook hands with Xin Lao San and smiled, "Hello, Brother San. Just call me Xiao Fang."

Xin Lao San was about to speak when a car drove up. Xin Lao San immediately left Fang Tianfeng and ran over, his face full of humility.

"Manager Bi, you're here."

The car stopped, and Manager Bi, dressed in a gray suit, got out. He had a slightly effeminate appearance, nodded at Xin Lao San, and then smiled and walked towards Fang Tianfeng.

"Are you Fang Tianfeng? Let's go in." Manager Bi said warmly and led Fang Tianfeng into the villa.

It took a while to walk from the entrance to Villa No. 6. Fang Tianfeng thought Manager Bi would drive him in, but unexpectedly, he walked.

"I'm a few years older than you, so I'll call you Xiao Fang. You don't mind, right?"

"Manager Bi, you're too polite. Calling me Xiao Fang is fine."

"Manager Shen said on the phone to take good care of you, my young brother. I heard that Manager Shen rarely takes care of people. Where do you work, and how long do you plan to stay here?"

Fang Tianfeng was taken aback and immediately understood the meaning. He had to tell the truth, "Manager Bi, you misunderstood. I used to work at the same company as Sister Xin. After I was fired, Sister Xin said there was a job to look after a villa, and I thought it was good, so I took it. I'm not here to live."

"Oh?" Manager Bi suddenly stopped, his disappointment flashing across his face, but he quickly smiled, "Are you joking, young brother? How could such an important villa be entrusted to an outsider? You and Manager Shen must have a special relationship. Manager Shen even said you're her brother."

Fang Tianfeng smiled, "Manager Bi, you're still misunderstanding. I'm her newly recognized godson, with no blood relation. I'm just an ordinary person. I might need your help in the future to earn a living."

Manager Bi laughed, "Young brother, you're wrong. Manager Shen's friends are my friends. If you need anything, call me. Let's go, I'll take you to Villa No. 6!" He patted Fang Tianfeng's shoulder affectionately and walked towards Villa No. 6.

At the entrance, Manager Bi smiled politely, "Here it is. I can't go in. I have some things to handle, so I'll leave. Don't forget to call me if you need anything."

"Thank you, Manager Bi."

After Manager Bi left, Fang Tianfeng carefully examined the villa.

The three-story villa was mainly white and gray, with two pillars at the entrance, and the architectural style was a blend of Chinese and Western elements.

Opening the door, the first thing he saw was a spacious living room. The large floor-to-ceiling windows behind it made the space feel vast. The most prominent feature in the living room was the white home theater screen.

Since Fang Tianfeng had seen the floor plan before, he quickly became familiar with the layout of the first floor.

The first floor had a living room, dining room, bar, kitchen, and a guest bedroom with a bathroom. After a quick look, he went up the stairs to the second floor. The second floor had two bedrooms, one large and one small, a bathroom and a shower room separated by doors, a study, a small living room, a walk-in closet, and a dressing room.

In the guest bedroom, he saw a computer, turned it on, checked the configuration, and tested the internet speed, confirming that his old computer could retire. A 20 Mbps fiber-optic connection would be great for downloading.

Fang Tianfeng went to the third floor and was immediately attracted by the outdoor balcony. The balcony took up about a quarter of the third floor and even had a flower bed, though no flowers had been planted yet, but a grape arbor had been set up.

On the third floor, besides the balcony, there were two bedrooms, a bathroom, a small living room, and a walk-in closet.
