Chapter 9: Money Comes, I'll Buy You Anything!

Qin Liuxi slept for two days. When she stepped out of the house, the sky was filled with red clouds, a beautiful sight indeed.

However, this beautiful scene didn't last long before it was ruined by some discordant noise.

Qin Liuxi's pleasant mood instantly dissipated. She pursed her lips and headed towards the source of the noise.

The old residence of the Qin family was a three-section house. In the past, only Qin Liuxi, the mistress, lived there. Despite the vast size of the house, she only occupied a small courtyard near the back street for easy access.

The noise was coming from the flower hall.

When Qin Liuxi arrived, Aunt Li and Xiaoxue were standing at the entrance, looking somewhat aggrieved. Their eyes lit up when they saw her.

"Miss," they both bowed to her in unison.

Qin Liuxi waved her hand and stepped inside, "What's going on?"

She glanced around, and the large flower hall was crowded with people, young and old, all looking at her. Some of their faces showed disapproval.

In the flower hall, there were two large round tables, with a few dishes that could hardly be called exquisite: a steamed fish, a dish of pickled vegetables stir-fried with pork offal, two plates of vegetarian dishes, and a large bowl of steamed buns.

Qin Liuxi raised an eyebrow. It was already time for dinner, but clearly, these dishes could not satisfy the group of masters and mistresses.

"What's going on?" Xie Shi pointed to the dishes on the table, her face stern. "Xiaoyao, look at this. Is this what people eat? Even our servants don't eat this. Is this supposed to be dinner? It was the same yesterday, and I didn't say anything, but it's the same today. If the kitchen staff can't cook, then we should replace them with someone capable."

As she spoke, she glared at Aunt Li and her daughter.

Aunt Li, who had a quick temper, hurriedly said, "Miss, in the past, there were few people in the house, and you never liked rich and fatty foods. My family always bought simple and light ingredients. With the sudden addition of so many people these past two days, it's hard to change our purchasing habits. We can only buy in bulk, and as for the money..."

Aunt Li paused, finding it hard to continue.

The budget for daily expenses in a household was fixed. In the past, the old residence only had Qin Liuxi as the mistress, and the rest were a few servants. Apart from Qin Liuxi's food, which was more refined, the servants ate like ordinary people, which was sufficient.

However, in the past two days, more than ten people suddenly moved in. Without enough money, how could they buy more? They could only buy some filling and affordable dishes, without considering the quality.

Now, with these masters causing trouble, they felt aggrieved and found it difficult. Even a three-year-old child would know that a skilled cook can't make a meal without ingredients.

"You're lying. I clearly saw you secretly stew a bowl of red date and lean meat soup for her," a girl around thirteen or fourteen years old frowned, pointing at Qin Liuxi.

Qin Liuxi glanced at her. This was her cousin from her second uncle's family, Qin Mingyue.

Aunt Li was taken aback and explained, "Miss hasn't eaten for two days. Is it wrong to leave a bowl of soup for her?"

"Are you saying that Miss is more precious than the old lady?" Xie Shi immediately retorted.

Aunt Li was speechless, "No, this..."

In her heart, Miss was more precious than anyone, but here, how could she dare say that? If she did, Miss would be labeled as unfilial.

Aunt Li looked to Qin Liuxi for help.

Qin Liuxi looked at Xie Shi, her eyes cold.

Xie Shi had thin eyebrows and sharp cheekbones, a face that indicated a strong and domineering personality, cold and calculating, focused on profit. Such a person, she didn't want to have anything to do with and found repulsive.

Qin Liuxi's tone was slightly cold, "So, are you all just here to cause trouble? If you want a refined dinner with a mix of meat and vegetables, should we add some bird's nest and ginseng as well? That's not impossible, Second Aunt, but where's the money?"

She extended her hand in front of Xie Shi, "Money comes, I'll buy you anything!"
