Arguably the most tiring incident of the day was Valeria lying at my feet. The stench was so terrible that I wanted to take off my clothes from where I was, but I couldn’t. Since the discovery of Belbourne’s body, Valeria and I had been locked up in a room. We could not move because of the knights at the door until noon the next day.
“Lady, what are we going to do?”
Perhaps it was shocking to see the body, Valeria’s face became pale in a day. I was starting to get tired of her being clingy instead of forgetting it, but I had no right to complain. She was the only one on my side in this vast Imperial Palace, so I had to console her.
“Don’t worry, Valeria. Because I have a way.”
“I-I only trust you.”
“Of course.”
Of course, there was no way such a room existed. The only weapon I had was Vivianne, who didn’t even look at me because of Hillmartino and Wilhelm, who treated me like I was missing for the fourth day, and the truth was that I wasn’t the murderer of Count Belbourne.
I didn’t think Wilhelm would have created this cumbersome situation to kill me. Only this was certain. Wilhelm wanted me to be in more trouble than I was now. The tightly closed door opened after sunset.
“I’m sorry, Agrane. I am very late.”
Those who appeared beyond the door were many unknown knights, many servants, many nobles,
And Wilhelm.
