Geonwoo, who had just returned home, entered the study with Secretary Kim, who had left the office together. While sitting on the sofa reading a book, Yeonhwa kept looking back to the library. When he entered the house, Geonwoo didn’t look so good. Yeonhwa was worried something was wrong even though he didn’t reveal his feelings on his face, but when she saw the dark expression of Secretary Kim who followed him, Yeonhwa realized that she wasn’t mistaken.
About half an hour had passed, the library door opened, and Secretary Kim bowed politely to Geonwoo and came out.
“I am going, Mr President.”
Closing the door, secretary Kim bowed again when he saw Yeonhwa sitting on the living room sofa.
“I am going, madam.”
As Secretary Kim turned around, Yeonhwa stood up while covering the book that she had been reading.
“Secretary Kim, I have something to ask.”
“Yes, madam. Please speak.”
After walking to Secretary Kim, Yeonhwa swept her arms down and turned to the library.
“What’s happening today with my husband?”
Seeing Secretary Kim stayed silent, it was clear that something had happened. Yeonhwa asked, taking her gaze away from the tightly closed door.
“What is it? Is there a problem with the company?”
“Not really.”
Secretary Kim, with his lips rolled in, wondered if he should tell Yeonhwa. If something happened at the company, there shouldn’t be anything to leak outside, but it was more conflicting because it was a fight with Youngsook, not inside the company. Secretary Kim, who was frustrated, lowered his voice and explained what had happened today. Yeonhwa, who was listening to the story
silently raised her eyes. It was not surprising to think of what Youngsook had done to Geonwoo. However, her heart sank after knowing Geonwoo was injured. Yeonhwa wanted to speak calmly, but her voice was gradually infuriated because of her emotions.
“Did he injure badly? Even if my husband said he was okay, you should have made him go home earlier.”
Even though Yeonhwa knew this wasn’t something to blame Secretary Kim for, she couldn’t control her feelings. Then Yeonhwa, who put her hand on her mouth, shook her head.
“I am sorry. I know it’s not even your fault.”
“No, I know you are saying this to me because you are worried about Mr President.”
When Yeonhwa heard a rustling sound, secretary Kim’s hand, which was holding a bag with a burn ointment, came to her sight.
“I bought the burn ointment while buying a new change of clothes for him, but I couldn’t give it to him because he said he was okay. Would you please apply this on his chest?”
Yeonhwa accepted the ointment, but she wondered how she could apply it. After secretary Kim left the house, with a burden in her heart, Yeonhwa stood in front of the library, holding the ointment.
Knock.
Knock.
The moment Yeonhwa, who knocked on the door briefly, tried to grab the doorknob, the door burst from the inside first. Geonwoo, who was only wearing a shirt, greeted Yeonhwa with a tired face.
“Are you done with your work?”
When asked by Yeonhwa, Geonwoo nodded and closed the library door behind his back. Then Geonwoo headed for the bedroom perhaps to go change out his clothes but Yeonhwa blocked his way.
“I heard you got hurt.”
Geonwoo’s face, which was tired, filled with alertness.
“Where did you hear it? What did secretary Kim say?”
Yeonhwa only thought that she had committed a big mistake by her quiet voice. Yeonhwa opened her lips as she looked at Geonwoo’s expression waiting for an answer.
“I heard that my grandmother went to the company today.”
“And?”
”Something happened and you got hit with the teacup by your grandmother.”
Fortunately, it seemed that Yeonhwa didn’t know the cause of the fight. Geonwoo was sure that Yeonhwa would have a hard time if she knew she was the reason for the fight. Geonwoo exhaled a deep breath and tried to turn around, but Yeonhwa grabbed his arm.
“How much did you hurt? Secretary Kim said it was a hot tea.”
“I am okay. It wasn’t that hot.”
As said so, Geonwoo reached out to Yeonhwa.
“Give me the ointment , I’ll apply it.”
“No, I can’t.”
Probably, if he said he would apply medicine from the beginning, Yeonhwa would have given him the ointment. However, as Geonwoo showed stubbornness like this, Yeonhwa knew he would not use the ointment even if she gave it to him.
“Show me.”
Geonwoo’s eyebrows frowned.
“What do you want me to show you now?”
“Whether the wound would be healed by applying the ointment or should you go to the hospital. You keep saying it’s okay, so I have to look and judge.”
When Yeonhwa grabbed the shirt near the chest, Geonwoo opened his eyes as fiercely as possible and grabbed his shirt.
“I said I would.”
“Why can’t you show me? Is it because you hurt a lot and you don’t want to show it?”
“It’s not like that.”
“Then show me. I didn’t say I’m going to apply the ointment!”
While she was talking, Yeonhwa’s hands gradually gained strength, and Geonwoo tried to separate her hands. When Geonwoo was confused by the hidden power of Yeonhwa, she opened Geonwoo’s shirt wide as if opening a curtain.
Tuduk, tuduk, ting-
White buttons freedomly bounced in all directions and rolled over the floor. Yeonhwa was inevitably surprised because she didn’t know that his clothes would tear without strength. Without saying that she was sorry, Geonwoo’s red chest came into her eyes.
“It’s red!”
The moment she saw his skin glowing red, Yeonhwa’s heart felt heavy. Yeonhwa raised her voice as she was frustrated by the fact that Geonwoo said he was fine.
“Why don’t you know how to take care of your body while trembling so much about my wounds!”
Really upset, Yeonhwa, who became tearful, quickly went to the kitchen and put ice in a plastic bag. It would have been hot and tingling, but Geonwoo only sighed out of frustration after working all day.
“Come this way.”
Yeonhwa grabbed Geonwoo’s arm, who was standing tall in the living room, and brought him to the sofa and sat down. Yeonhwa, who sat next to him, rubbed an ice pack on Geonwoo’s left chest which was red. After cooling off to some extent, Yeonhwa opened his shirt a little more to examine his chest.
“Fortunately, I don’t see blisters.”
“This is enough.”
Geonwoo hurriedly pulled the shirt and tried to button it up, but none of the buttons remained intact. Then Yeonhwa picked up the ointment placed on the table and grabbed Geonwoo’s hand.
“Wait. I have to apply some ointment too.”
“I’ll do that.”
Geonwoo took the ointment from Yeonhwa’s hand and put it in his pocket. Yeonhwa wanted to treat the affected area until the end, but it seemed that Geonwoo had no intention of giving her back the ointment. Yeonhwa, who gave up, stood up from her seat and looked at the back of Geonwoo .
“Today .. You don’t look so good.”
Geonwoo replied without turning.
“No, it’s not good.”
“If I ask you what happened, will you not tell me?”
There was no answer this time. Yeonhwa’s heart felt empty as if a large hole had been drilled. It wasn’t something that she could solve, but Yeonhwa wanted Geonwoo to share his worries when he had troubles. However Geonwoo never did that.
Yeonhwa felt especially frustrated today. She thought they got a little closer but it seemed to be her own illusion. Yeonhwa, who couldn’t do anything to help, called Geonwoo who was moving away.
” Yoon Geonwoo.”
Geonwoo looked back at her.
“Before I lost my memory, what did you do when you were struggling?”
“Are you trying to comfort me?”
Because Geonwoo looked tired and seemed troubled, so Yeonhwa wanted to comfort him, that was the only thing she could do.
However after much consideration, Geonwoo answered shortly.
“It’s alright.”
”I know there’s nothing much that I can do for you so I just want to comfort you.
Yeonhwa’s voice trembled. Whenever Geon-woo struggled with Youngsook, Yeonhwa just only stood by and could not help him. He was always keeping his distance from her. But now it was different. The relationship between the two took a slightly different form than before. Yeonhwa’s heavy gaze penetrated Geonwoo intensely. Geonwoo’s lips, which had been closed for a long time, opened.
“Don’t look at me like that.”
In an instant, Yeonhwa’s eyes shook.
“Are you offended by what I see?”
“No. It was the opposite.”
“I know you didn’t lose any memories of the past. But why are you trying to comfort me? You know what I want and you put me to the test with those words. I’m barely holding back my desire to hold you in my arms right now. Why do you want to test my patience?” Geonwoo thought to himself. Then he spoke without hesitation.
“Yes, do it. Comfort me.”
Geonwoo stepped forward and approached Yeonhwa.
He reached out and wrapped his hand around Yeonhwa’s head. As he pulled YeonHwa’s head close, she stumbled and put her hand on his chest, then Geon-woo’s lips landed on hers, taking in the feeling of being comforted. Now, self control was out of the question.
“I only accepted the comfort you gave me in my own way. This is not my fault. You said you wanted to comfort me and looked at me with those pretty eyes. It’s because of you. All because of you.”
