In the next few days, Zhang Guo Qing was extremely busy. There was too much money to be converted into gold, he needed to have network connections in order to convert all of the money to gold. He also had to secretly prepare an investigation for the financial statements of Zhang family’s company. There were people he also needed to meet and maintain connections with while his grandpa was still alive. Then he had promised to meet with all of his father’s friends. He would leave early every day, but return late at night- unless it was to accompany his grandpa he didn’t have any time to rest and sleep.

Zhou Jiao knew that, during this period, Zhang Guo Qing was very busy and didn’t want to bother her. She stayed at the old house and ate well and rested well. Her responsibility was to give birth to the baby smoothly and safely.

During this period, in addition to handing some gold to Zhou Jiao, Zhang Guo Qing rented a huge storage space where he filled with certified milk powder from foreign places- the amount of powder could probably last a baby until it became an adult. There was even milk powder for pregnant ladies. Hehe, they could have ten babies and there would still be enough powder for all of them. There were also baby products as well, like diapers, toys, pacifiers, and more.

In regards to her husband’s attitude of treating tomorrow like it’s the end of the world, Zhou Jiao didn’t say much. In this lifetime and world, what one can hope for is a tranquil and peaceful life, a stable life, a life where she can see her husband’s smile every day.

Zhang Guo Qing thought that, since the space can keep all items in good condition and they won’t lack money, he was willing to do many things. At the end, what he really wanted to do was probably to fulfill his unfulfilled childhood desires, the things he longed for during his time at the orphanage- things like milk candy, toys, and new clothes.

For the him that was born as an orphan, this soon-to-be born child held all his wishes- not necessarily wishes that pressure him to become successful in the future, but wishes for real family members that share the same blood. No suspicion or manipulation between family. He hopes his child can have this type of heartwarming and loving family. A handsome father, a beautiful mother, and an adorable, energetic little treasure.

In addition to gold, food and materials can bring a sense of security. When he was a teenager, he really wished he could grow up faster, but now he wanted time to go slower so he could prepare all the best things in the world and give them to his son, besides he had plans to have many more children.

Besides going to a private hospital for checkups, Zhou Jiao would visit grandpa and chat about Zhang Guo Qing with him. They would talk about Zhang Guo Qing’s brilliant moments in school and then Father Zhang’s amazing feats. In actuality, Grandpa Zhang knew all about these things, but maybe it’s because of age—he enjoys reminiscing more and talking about the past.

She already applied for maternity leave from the school. In the past, she didn’t have much time to take a break and shop whenever she felt like it, but now she and Zhang Guo Qing sometimes find themselves at the malls and buying whatever they wanted.

Mother Zhou has been regularly calling back to L City, and the only thing Zhou Jiao could do was make excuses saying she and Zhang Guo Qing had to leave for a moment. Mother Zhou would suddenly burst out asking about their living expenses and money, whether they found a new job somewhere else, but she would never even ask a single question about how her pregnancy was going. Zhou Jiao, as before, could only promise to continue transferring money every month to them.

In the end, she said one statement: “Raising you was useless.”

Angrily Zhou Jiao exclaimed: “How much did you actually spend to raise me?”

Since then, the phone would be transferred to Zhang Guo Qing every time and Mother Zhang would be dissatisfied with Zhou Jiao. She would complain about the couple leaving L City. When she found out that the house in L City wasn’t owned by Zhang Guo Qing, she would cry saying she let her daughter marry to the wrong man- it angered the couple so much they didn’t know whether to laugh or cry about it.

When she chatted with her older sister through WeChat, she found out that when Mother Zhou couldn’t contact her, she would contact the older sister and torment her. In regards to the recent changes, Zhou Jiao did not reveal anything to her family. But of course, she would still send over money to her parents. Any more than that, she won’t have a part in it. If she had that much money she would be like Zhang Guo Qing and donate it. Last week, this guy donated five million to a senior living facility in hopes to increase his good karma and bring longevity to grandpa and decrease his pains and illnesses. Although superstitious, it caused the old elder much happiness and got him to laugh for a whole day.

After gathering all the family members from the step grandmother’s side of the family, the whole group went to the cemetery.

Not too long ago, the old elder was tightly holding onto Zhang Guo Qing’s hands and peacefully left while smiling. Zhou Jiao still remembers the elder’s entrustment—to stay closely by Zhang Guo Qing’s side, as there is only one lifetime but it may take just that long to grieve for a loved one.

No matter if it was genuine or fake, the sound of crying was heard throughout. The old man suddenly appeared one day and entered their lives, such a gentle elder, he quietly guarded her most loved one, but in the end he faded away like fog. Zhou Jiao was crying while holding onto grandpa’s photo, and it seemed as if she could still hear the chuckling of the elder by her ear—rest in peace grandpa.

After overseeing all the funeral tasks, Zhang Guo Qing’s whole person seemed even more depressed. He would often rush to the cemetery site and stay dazed there for a whole day. At the movement of his baby, his consciousness was brought back after much difficulty, Zhou Jiao silently let out a sigh of relief.

Zhang Guo Qing took over the position as head of the household, on the surface he seemed very calm, but internally he was furious. He has known early on who forced his mother to leave and how his father’s death was actually premeditated. How could Zhang Guo Qing not be furious?

Seeing as Zhou Jiao was pregnant for more than seven months, he had to get rid of this danger before his child was born. There were some ill-intentioned people who, seeing as the elder was gone, was slowly planning things in the dark.

After taking over the company, with the help of many of his father’s friends, Zhang Guo Qing quickly got rid of all the people causing a disturbance in the company and smoothly took over. Following this, the couple quietly waited for their child to be born.

In his spare time, Zhang Guo Qing would occasionally accompany his wife to go shopping, visit some old friends who started running an agriculture company and chat for a while, take long walks, go fishing, and sometimes help his friends with their agriculture business and products. Since they had a space, the couple would drive out and buy bags and bags of products, no matter what the product was, Zhou Jiao would be responsible for collection the items. At times, she would worry that she would be too busy post-natal and would not be able to care for Zhang Guo Qing so she would pack a lot of food into the space. At times, she would see some fruits they both loved and she would place them in the space. The space probably held everything, but when Zhang Guo Qing doubted whether they had the item or not he would end up buying it, he even crazily bought a lot of organic rice and placed them all in the space.

Back at the old house, Uncle Guang would always drug and poison test the food before letting the couple eat anything—such is the life of the rich. Occasionally, Zhou Jiao would look into the space and see the cured meats and other miscellaneous items, and wouldn’t know whether to cry or laugh, not to mention the packaged food. She looked for a professional and even ordered custom-made shelf organizers and some clear bins. She organized the raw meats to one area and the cooked meats to a different area, otherwise she wouldn’t dare eat the meats.

A little time later, the much awaited winter and baby due date was fast approaching. Within the old house, no matter if it was Uncle Guang or the couple, they busied themselves with preparing the items to bring with them as they headed to the private hospital.

The couple was full of smiles as the car drove towards the private hospital in the suburbs, the road was pretty clear of cars that day. After half an hour has passed, just as the car was making a turn at a three lane intersection, a truck that lost control suddenly appeared on the right side—heading straight for them. Zhang Guo Qing paled and hurriedly turned left, however the brakes were also not working; this was a clearly planned car accident. All Zhang Guo Qing could do was embrace Zhou Jiao tightly in his arms, hoping that the body guards following closely will catch up on time. Zhou Jiao stretched out her hands to tightly grab onto Zhang Guo Qing, if there really was a heaven and a hell- let us go together. To live without the other would be more painful than death.

It turned out that they were waiting there from the beginning, even if their family of three were to die, did they believe they could inherit the family’s fortunes? Dream on. Zhang Guo Qing thought, sorry Jiao Jiao, let’s be together again in the next lifetime, you need to bring the child with you and we can all reincarnate together.

With a loud bang, the glass all shattered and smashed onto the bodies of Zhang Guo Qing and Zhou Jiao, the blood from the both of them flowed downwards onto the necklace on Zhou Jiao.

The bodyguards that followed behind quickly called the police and ambulance, while holding onto the driver of the truck.

The next day, major newspapers across the country issued the following news report: “The CEO of the Zhang’s company, Mr. Zhang Guo Qing, the invisible richest man in the country, and his pregnant wife encountered a premeditated car accident on their drive to a private hospital. The couple died and even their unborn child was not spared. The Public Security Department has declared that they have caught the people in question. Mr. Zhang Guo Qing and his wife left a will before their accident. All the money and assets under their name will be donated to orphanages across China. In addition to the old Zhang house, the large inheritance was the main incentive for this accident. As of right now, the Zhang family has grouped together and are keeping their silence. People in the inner circle have revealed that the death of Mr. Zhang Guo Qing’s father was most likely a premeditated accident. Mr. Zhang Guo Qing has lived at an orphanage since birth and only came back to the Zhang family in the last year. Please stay in tune for more updates in the future.”

All of sudden, there was a lot of talk in the air. Clear-minded people understood the meaning behind the will. Besides his wife, how could all the Zhang family members not have a part in the will? As for the large amount of money given to foundations, after a few months of investigation the police discovered some evidence. One such evidence came from the imprisonment of the second uncle for the step grandmother’s side of the family. It was revealed that the killer behind Father Zhang’s premeditated accident was an assassin paid by the step grandmother. There were a lot more evidence and the Zhang family pleaded not guilty to no avail……
