As the Governor was a high official, he quickly recovered from the horror. He accused the Chief Bailiff of speaking nonsense and demanded he show conclusive evidence. Everything was done verbally and there was no material evidence left. The Chief Bailiff just stood there baffled.

The Governor was quite pleased with himself and asked Magistrate Zhao to invite another coroner to examine the corpse, then he waited. Anyway, the higher-ups had already made up their minds to kill off the senior branch of the Zhao family and there was no use changing coroners. That is, unless they could find the real Sun Xique and Fang Sheng. However, the higher ups have already dispatched hidden guards to hunt and kill the both of them.
