Rong Jun stood outside the door and handed a delicate paper bag in his hand to Yan Chen.
“This is a scented candle, I hope you like its smell.”
The fact that Rong Jun came here with a gift was not out of Yan Chen’s expectation, it was in line with his personality, but nevertheless he was still surprised.
“Thank you.”
Yan Chen lowered his head and looked at the bow tied paper bag on his hand.
He moved his nose slightly and smelled the scent coming out of it. It was a smell that often lingered on Rong Jun’s body.
Yan Chen raised his eyes and smiled at him, “I definitely like it.”
The ambiguous meaning in his words made Rong Jun flustered for a moment, he was not good at dealing with such conversations, so he pretended to be calm on the surface to cover up his panic, pursed his lips and smiled back at him.
“Come in. I made something delicious for you.”
“…” Rong Jun entered, and upon seeing the dishes piled up on the table, he couldn’t help but look at it blankly with his big eyes.
The reason for his surprise was not because of the large number of dishes being served, but because every dish here was his favorite.
This kind of weird coincidence made him feel a little nervous, and he finally couldn’t help shivering.
‘He can’t be a perverted stalker, right? Unless he squats next to the trash can every day to dig through my kitchen waste, otherwise it is impossible to fully know the food I like. No… it must be really just a huge coincidence.’
Yan Chen examined his face and saw his doubts. He recently has been doing well putting up a facade in front of Rong Jun, which made him forget that Rong Jun is actually a smart peacock. The table is full of his favorite dishes, so he must be suspicious of him because he knows all of his favorite foods.
Yan Chen slowly picked up the glass jug on the side and poured a glass of water for Rong Jun.
He deliberately mixed a bit of probing into his words, and said, “I don’t know what peacocks like to eat, so I checked some recipes on the Internet. Does it suit your taste?”
“No, I quite like it.” His made up excuse failed to completely dispel Rong Jun’s doubts, and Yan Chen’s attitude just now which to him was too calculated made him even more doubtful if Yan Chen really has malicious intentions towards him.
Rong Jun’s smile that was originally rippling on his face became faint, no longer so natural, as if shrouded in a hazy mist.
Yan Chen, who was always paying attention to his subtle changes, suddenly became frightened in his heart, and his fingers that were holding the glass tightened helplessly, so hard that his fingertips turned white.
…
Their first dinner was not as good as Yan Chen imagined. Even though Rong Jun ate every food he prepared and praised him for his superb cooking skills, he knew he was still being cautious around him.
After the meal, Yan Chen escorted him out and made sure that Rong Jun boarded the elevator safely.
Shortly after Rong Jun left, he went inside, his apartment that was once again covered in an eerie silence.
He turned his head to the kitchen counter on his right. On it was a hammer glass fruit plate, which was filled with pears of excellent appearance that happens to Rong Jun’s favorite fruit.
He blankly stared at the dishes that were left on the table, the restlessness that had been suppressed in his heart wandered in his chest, and finally all turned into a long sigh.
‘Sooner or later you’ll be mine again, Qingqing.’ He thought, clenching his fist, as he gazed at the scene of the open window in front of him.
…
As soon as Rong Jun entered the door, he pressed a few switches on the wall of the entrance, turning on the lights in the whole room.
He took off his shoes and then his socks, went to the bathroom and threw them into the laundry basket inside the door, and then dragged his exhausted body to the living room, and crashed into the sofa.
Half of his face was sunken in the gray velvet foam and squeezed out of shape, and the two originally bright red pupils also lost their lister, his gaze dull and lifeless.
Now Rong Jun looked like a dilapidated doll picked up from nowhere, lifelessly staring ahead with his eyes that were void of anything.
He was a little panicked just now, and really didn’t know how to deal with this situation wih Yan Chen.
‘Should I start avoiding him?…’
…
The next day, Rong Jun got up early to catch up with his first class.
He came out of the house running, and pressed the elevator button and looked up at the floor number displayed on it, and it happened to stop on the 12th floor.
His heart suddenly beat violently, and a strange feeling passed through his body.
When he was hesitating whether to take the stairs, the elevator stopped at his floor and slowly opened in front of him, and inside, as he expected, stood a handsome young man smiling at him.
“Morning.” Yan Chen took the initiative to say hello.
Rong Jun couldn’t control his expression well, his uneasiness creeping out in his face.
Yan Chen saw through all of his actions and was frustrated, but still tried to maintain a positive look, and smiled while asking, “Aren’t you coming in?”
Yan Chen’s voice brought back Rong Jun’s thoughts that were floating, he hurriedly took a few steps into the elevator, and habitually pressed the button on the first floor.
The elevator door slowly closed again, and the two of them remained silent in the small space.
Rong Jun felt really nervous, to the point that he could clearly hear his own breathing and heartbeat.
And Yan Chen’s face , who was at the side, became more and more ugly following Rong Jun’s attitude towards him.
The ten second lift was such a torture to Yan Chen. And the moment the elevator came to a complete stop and the door opened, he then heard Rong Jun let out a long sigh of relief which made his heart drop.
‘Does Qingqing hate me?’ This thought made Yan Chen’s scalp tingle, so the moment Rong Jun was about to step out of the elevator, he thoughtlessly reached out and grabbed his arm, pulling him back inside.
However, due to Yan Chen’s excessive panic at that moment, he couldn’t control the strength of his hands well, causing Rong Jun to crash into his arms unexpectedly.
