A soft touch of lips could easily draw someone into that indescribable sweetness. Without realizing it, one would close their eyes and let every sense focus entirely on the other person.
And that’s what exactly happened to Rong Jun.
“Ughhh—!!!”
The moment the memory surfaced, Rong Jun’s face flushed bright red. He nearly writhed across the bed, the sheets beneath him crumpling into chaos from his exaggerated movements.
He yanked the blanket over himself and wrapped it tightly around his body, curling up until he formed a small mound beneath the covers.
Then suddenly—absolute silence.
A few seconds passed and out if nowhere…
“Ahhh!!!”
Another muffled cry burst out from under the blanket as he screamed again.
Slowly, Rong Jun peeked out, his face still burning. He collapsed onto the mattress with an expression of utter despair, the blush on his cheeks refusing to fade.
After a moment, he raised his hand and absentmindedly touched his lower lip.
The instant his fingers brushed over it, he jerked back under the covers like a kitten whose tail had been stepped on.
Hidden beneath the blanket, he curled into himself as if doing so could block out the world and the humiliating scene replaying endlessly in his mind.
Rong Jun could hardly believe it.
He had actually kissed Yan Chen first.
And not only that… He had even… even stuck out his tongue!
Tomorrow… He absolutely could not go see him tomorrow!
Absolutely not!
…
Rong Jun tossed and turned for most of the night, and he had no idea when he finally fell asleep.
When he opened his eyes again, the room was filled with the rays of the morning light.
He rubbed his eyes and reached for the phone beside his pillow to check the time, but his attention was immediately drawn to an unread message.

But now… Now he and Yan Chen were together.
Which meant he should probably tell him about his plan of going home.
‘If I tell him we’re going to be long-distance when we’ve been together for less than a day… Yan Chen will probably be upset, right?’ he pondered.
Just as he was worrying about it, the alarm on his phone suddenly rang.
Rong Jun jumped in fright and hurriedly turned it off.
Since it was the weekend, he planned to lie in bed a little longer, but only after a few minutes passed, his phone made a sound again.
This time it was a call.
It was Yan Chen!
He quickly felt his mind stop.
Rong Jun wasn’t startled, but he was a little flustered. He patted his chest, which was still rising and falling quickly, then cleared his throat several times to make sure his voice sounded normal before answering.
Even so, he didn’t speak first. He simply held the phone to his ear and waited.
“…Qingqing?”
“Mm.”
“Are you awake?”
Rong Jun paused, then replied dryly, “Do you think you’re talking to a ghost right now?”
Yan Chen chuckled softly on the other end.
“So… are you coming over, or should I come to you?”
Rong Jun suddenly fell silent.
He slowly shrank deeper into the blanket, as if trying to hide himself completely. After a while, he finally murmured,
“…Come here.”
“Alright. I’ll head down now.”
“Wait.”
“What’s wrong?”
“There’s something I need to tell you.”
“Go ahead.”
Rong Jun hesitated, fiddling with the bedsheet beneath his fingers.
“It’s just… after the exams next week, we’ll have our holiday.”
He felt it was much easier to say this over the phone than face-to-face.
“…So I’ll be going back to my ancestral home.”
After he finished speaking, Rong Jun held his breath and listened carefully.
But for a long time—there was no sound from the other end.
A trace of guilt crept into his chest.
“Yan Chen?”
“…Can’t you just not go back?”
The frustration in Yan Chen’s voice was so obvious it carried clearly through the phone.
“Sorry.”
“……”
Silence fell again.
Yan Chen didn’t want to sound unreasonable. Part of him even wanted to act generous and say it didn’t matter.
But he had finally managed to win Rong Jun over, and before they had even spent a full day together, he was being told they’d have to be in a long-distance relationship.
Of course he felt sad and frustrated.
His silence carried a stubborn note of resistance. He simply didn’t want to give in so quickly.
Meanwhile, Rong Jun scratched the back of his neck helplessly. His brows knit together as he racked his brain, trying to think of some way to coax Yan Chen.
‘Maybe I rushed things too much…’ he thought.
After hesitating for a moment, he blurted out,
“…Do you want to come back with me?”
Only after the words left his mouth did Rong Jun realize how impulsive they sounded.
But before he could scramble to explain. Yan Chen answered without the slightest hesitation.
“Okay!”
“…Huh?”
“And what about your family…?” Rong Jun asked uncertainly.
“They won’t care.”
“…Don’t you have plans for the holiday?”
“No.”
“You’re really sure you want to come?”
“Absolutely sure.”
Rong Jun froze.
So that meant—this entire summer vacation…he was going to be living under the same roof as Yan Chen?
His heart wasn’t prepared for that at all!
