After enduring that irritable evening, Rong Jun finally calmed down and thought things through.
In the end, he came to a firm conclusion.
Yan Chen was definitely laying the groundwork.
After all, in Yan Chen’s eyes, he was not someone who would easily agree to such things. So Yan Chen’s restraint only proved that he was trying to maintain a good image in front of him.
That had to be it! There was no way it was because he wasn’t attractive.
Yan Chen liked him so much, how could he not want to do what couples were supposed to do?
“Hmph.”
Rong Jun crossed his arms.
Let’s see how long you can hold out!
…
With Rong Jun deliberately keeping his distance from the rest of the family, and Yan Chen showing no interest in socializing, the manor soon returned to its usual quiet state.
Rong Li was busy as ever. After briefly checking in, he informed Rong Jun that their mother would be returning in two days, along with his nephew.
This time, however, Rong Jun didn’t feel bored.
With Yan Chen around. and with his own matters to occupy him, he had no shortage of things to think about.
Without exception, Yan Chen came to sleep with him every single night.
During the first few days, he would still politely ask for permission.
But soon enough, he stopped asking altogether.
When it was time for bed, he would simply slip under the covers and pull Rong Jun into his arms as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
And yet…nothing happened.
Absolutely nothing.
At most, Yan Chen’s hands would occasionally wander, brushing over his waist or back… But every time things seemed about to go further, he would stop himself.
Again and again.
Until finally… Rong Jun began to suspect something was wrong with him.
Of course, he firmly refused to consider that the problem might lie with himself.

“Say it!” Rong Jun gritted his teeth, eager to find a solution.
Qu Po lowered his voice and rattled off a string of extremely naughty advice.
“What? That’s crazy!” Rong Jun snapped, slamming his phone onto the table and covering his burning face with both hands.
After a long moment, he picked it up again, his voice barely audible.
“…It’ll work, right?”
“Relax,” Qu Po said confidently. “If he can still keep his cool after that, I’ll call him ‘Dad’ from now on.”
Rong Jun’s expression darkened.
“You know why I’m telling you this, right?”
“Heaven knows, earth knows, you know, and I know.”
“…Good.”
“To show my sincerity,” Qu Po added cheerfully, “I’ve even prepared a little gift for you. It should arrive before tonight.”
“What gift?”
“You’ll see.”
…
Sure enough, not long after sunset, the butler knocked on Rong Jun’s door.
“Master Rong, a package has arrived for you.”
Rong Jun took the box.
It wasn’t too large, but it had a noticeable weight to it. From the outside, there was no hint of what might be inside.
Given that phone call earlier, he already had a bad feeling.
So he deliberately avoided Yan Chen and slipped into the bedroom to open it in private.
The moment he lifted the lid, a flash of bright red assaulted his vision.
Rong Jun froze.
Then nearly dropped the box.
A blush spread rapidly across his face as he covered his eyes, his heart pounding wildly.
Inside was something barely recognizable as clothing. A few thin straps of fabric, held together by scraps of lace.
There was no way he would ever wear something like that.
Absolutely not.
What on earth was Qu Po thinking?!
With a burning face, Rong Jun grabbed the item and immediately crumpled it into a ball, intending to throw it away.
But then he hesitated. What if someone saw it?
In the end, he stuffed everything into the bottom drawer of his bedside table, planning to deal with it later.
And it wasn’t just that.
There were also several small bottles and a neat row of boxes clearly meant for… certain purposes.
Rong Jun slammed the drawer shut.
That damned fox.
What was with those sizes?!
Did he think Rong Jun would be the one at a disadvantage?!
“Qingqing? What are you doing?”
Yan Chen’s voice suddenly came from behind him.
Rong Jun nearly jumped.
“Nothing!” he said quickly, forcing himself to stay calm. “I’m coming out now.”
He casually placed the empty box by the trash, pretending nothing had happened.
…
Night fell once again.
Following Qu Po’s “advice,” Rong Jun lingered in the bathroom far longer than usual, listening carefully for any movement outside.
According to Qu Po, what was most irresistible was that half-covered out of the bath look.
Warm mist clinging to the skin. Damp hair. Bare shoulders. Subtle. Suggestive. Impossible to ignore.
By the time Rong Jun turned off the water, he made sure not to dry himself completely.
Droplets still clung to his skin. His hair remained half-damp. Then—he heard footsteps outside.
Rong Jun’s heartbeat instantly quickened.
He quickly put on minimal clothing, grabbed a towel, and loosely wrapped it around his waist before stepping out.
The door to the bathroom opened and just at the same time Yan Chen walked inside and stumbled at the sight of him and instantly froze on the spot.
For a moment, he didn’t move at all.
His gaze followed every movement of Rong Jun’s body, dark and intense, utterly unlike his usual composed self.
A chill ran down Rong Jun’s spine under that intense gaze, but at the same time, a strange sense of satisfaction rose in his chest.
Suppressing his embarrassment, he spoke as naturally as he could.
“I forgot to bring my pajamas in.”
Yan Chen finally reacted.
But the moment he tried to speak, he choked on his own breath, coughing as his face turned red.
Rong Jun couldn’t help but laugh inwardly.
Calmly, he walked to the bedside. Then, right in front of Yan Chen…he let the towel slip.
The fabric fell away. And for the first time, he fully exposed himself before the man who had remained “restrained” all this time.
At this moment, he was absolutely certain. The fire blazing in Yan Chen’s eyes left no room for doubt.
He was going to win.
