Chapter 61 of 93

Ch61 - (II). Clearing up the misunderstanding

3 min read852 wordsMature

Around eight in the morning, Yan Chen woke up as usual, guided by his internal clock.

Beside him, however, Rong Jun was still sleeping soundly, his breathing slow and even.

Yan Chen lifted a corner of the blanket to get out of bed, but the moment the cool air slipped in, Rong Jun shivered slightly and let out a soft whimper. Yan Chen paused, then quickly got up and carefully tucked the blanket back around him.

After quietly washing up, Yan Chen tidied the room. In the process, he accidentally disturbed Rong Jun, who slowly sat up, still wrapped tightly in the blanket. Without opening his eyes, he mumbled drowsily, “Yan Chen… I want some water.”

Yan Chen, who had been standing nearby and still hadn’t quite let go of yesterday’s frustration, couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight. He poured a glass of water, sat at the edge of the bed, and helped him drink it slowly.

“Feeling unwell?”

After drinking, Rong Jun ignored him completely and simply lay back down to sleep.

Yan Chen sighed softly, brushing aside his slightly messy hair. With nothing else to do, he remained seated by the bed, quietly watching the peaceful face before him. As always, when facing Rong Jun, something stirred in his chest.

In the end, he leaned down and gently pressed a kiss to his forehead.

Rong Jun slept deeply through the morning, only waking when the sunlight outside had grown bright. Yan Chen, who had stayed by his side the entire time, set aside his phone and watched as Rong Jun slowly sat up.

For a brief moment, Rong Jun looked completely lost.

“…Huh?”

“Qingqing, you’re awake.”

Yan Chen’s voice drew his attention. Perhaps it was because he had been waiting for this moment, or perhaps it was the lingering memory of last night, but there was a faint darkness in his expression that made Rong Jun instinctively wary.

Without hesitation, he turned to escape.

But Yan Chen had already anticipated it. He easily pinned him down, leaning close to whisper by his ear,

“Qingqing, I already told them you won’t be going out today.”

Rong Jun froze.

The meaning behind those words was unmistakable.

He trembled, struggling weakly beneath him, his voice on the verge of breaking. “Are you even human?”

Yan Chen paused, then recalled something Rong Jun had once said, replying calmly,

“I’m not human. I’m a wolf.”

…

“Yan Chen, let me go!”

Rong Jun’s voice dropped as he protested.

He was forced to kneel facing the headboard, his hands bound together, making it impossible to free himself. The blanket had long since slipped away, leaving him exposed, his posture unstable as he leaned forward against the pillows.

Behind him, Yan Chen hovered close, his presence overwhelming his senses. His breath brushed against Rong Jun’s skin deliberately, as if savoring every reaction.

The teasing contact made Rong Jun’s body tense, a shiver running through him despite trying to calm himself down.

Yan Chen’s hand trailed slowly down his chest, over his abdomen, his touch was teasingly slow that it burned Rong Jun’s body with every contact.

Rong Jun’s breath hitched, his composure slipping.

Sensing that this was more than just intimidation, he quickly softened his tone, trying to negotiate.

“Yan Chen… I drank too much yesterday. I didn’t mean what I said. Can we just… talk this out?”

“Aren’t we talking right now?” Yan Chen replied calmly.

But the look in his eyes said otherwise.

Instead of relenting, his grip tightened slightly, his voice lowering,

“You’ll understand properly once you experience it. Then there won’t be any misunderstanding.”

“Yan—Yan Chen, I…” Rong Jun’s voice faltered, tension and unease creeping in.

Before he could finish, the sudden closeness and overwhelming sensation made him go still, his body reacting before his thoughts could catch up.

“Wait—no… Yan Chen…”

His resistance weakened, his voice breaking into uneven breaths.

The tension in the room shifted, the earlier defiance giving way to something far more erotic.

“Yan Chen…”

His voice softened unconsciously, almost pleading.

His fingers then tightened against the sheets, his silver hair falling forward to hide his expression.

But no matter how much he tried to hide what he was feeling, the way his body trembled and the way his voice changed, it didn’t go unnoticed by Yan Chen as a smirk made its way to his lips.
