Ch75 - (II). Do you want me to gently lull you to sleep?

That night, Yan Chen stepped out of the bathroom, steam still clinging faintly to his skin as he absently dried his hair with a towel. Almost without thinking, his gaze drifted toward the other person in the room.

Rong Jun sat propped against the headboard, completely absorbed in his phone. The dim lighting cast shifting shadows across his face, the cool glow of the screen rendering his expression distant and unreadable.

A towel hung loosely around his neck. His shoulder-length silver hair was still damp, with droplets of water slipping down and soaking into the fabric of his pajamas, yet he seemed utterly unaware.

“What are you looking at?”

Yan Chen tossed the towel over his own head, then moved closer, casually draping part of it over Rong Jun’s hair as well, beginning to dry it. As he leaned in, trying to catch a glimpse of the screen, Rong Jun abruptly flipped the phone face down onto his lap, as if hiding something.

Yan Chen’s expression darkened slightly. “Why are you hiding it?”

Rong Jun set the phone aside near the pillow and leaned back against him as if nothing had happened. “Just work messages. Not convenient for you to read.”

Yan Chen didn’t answer right away.

Instead, he reached out, pinching Rong Jun’s chin and tilting his head back until it rested against his shoulder.

His fingers trailed slowly downward, over his neck, his throat, the line of his collarbone… then he leaned closer, his breath warm against Rong Jun’s cheek.

“Is it really just work?”

“Mmm… it is…”

The meaning behind his words didn’t need to be spelled out.

Rong Jun swallowed. He knew Yan Chen wouldn’t drop this easily and once things went further, there would be no space left to think.

But he couldn’t let him find out.

At least not yet.

After a long moment, he made his choice.

He lifted his head, his cheeks flushing red, he then wrapped his arms around Yan Chen’s neck. His eyes were bright even in the dim light, holding a quiet pull that was hard to resist.

Yan Chen’s restraint snapped seeing his alluring gaze.

In the next instant, Rong Jun was pressed back against the bed.

The room fell into the sounds of uneven breaths and rustling sheets. The stillness of the night seemed to amplify everything, the closeness, the warmth, the quiet tension finally unraveling as the two rolled on the sheets.

…

The next morning, Rong Jun stood in front of the sink, staring at his reflection with a helpless expression.

Faint traces of the night before marked his skin, but his neck remained conspicuously untouched. As long as he wore a shirt, nothing would show.

A short, incredulous laugh escaped him.

He wasn’t sure whether to call it excessive… or considerate.

Yan Chen just loves giving him a lot of bite marks, thankfully, not in the most visible places.

After washing up, he returned to the bedroom to find it empty.

Yan Chen was probably making breakfast.

Taking advantage of the moment, Rong Jun crossed quickly to the bed, grabbed his phone, and reopened the page he had left earlier. His fingers moved rapidly across the screen, his gaze flicking now and then toward the half-open door.

Only when the words Order Successful appeared did he finally stop.

His breathing was uneven for a moment before gradually settling.

Letting out a long breath, he dropped back onto the bed, his arms spread, and his eyes closing.

Something lingered in his thoughts, whatever it was, it drew an unconscious smile to his lips, a faint blush rising to his cheeks.

“Qingqing, are you okay? Come out and eat!” Yan Chen called from outside.

Rong Jun immediately sat up, his mind snapping back into place.

“Coming!”
