Cao Shuo, accompanied by two guards, set off for Cao's camp, braving the wind and snow.
At this time, most of the soldiers in Cao's camp, unaware of the impending crisis, had already fallen asleep, with only a few night patrols still walking around the camp.
In the main tent, Cao Cao was sound asleep, hugging Zou Shi.
Ever since his nephew Cao Anmin brought the widow of General Zhang Ji to him, Cao Cao had been spending his days and nights with this beautiful woman.
Zou Shi, in her early twenties, had fair skin, a beautiful face, and a graceful figure.
Especially in bed, she was particularly skilled at pleasing him, and each time she could make Cao Cao feel as if his soul had soared to the heavens.
Throughout history, heroes have found it hard to resist the allure of beautiful women.
Cao Cao, by nature a womanizer, naturally spent every night in pleasure with such a beauty.
With the situation in Wan City stabilized, his vigilance against Zhang Xiu had diminished.
In her sleep, Zou Shi turned over and wrapped her white, tender arm around Cao Cao.
Their chests pressed together, the sleeping Cao Cao smacked his lips and hugged Zou Shi even tighter.
With the warmth and softness of a beauty in his arms, Cao Cao was sleeping soundly when a shout came from the camp: "Zhang Xiu is raiding the camp!"
Immediately, the thunderous sound of hooves and the cries of battle deafened the ears, and the previously calm camp was thrown into chaos.
Cao Cao was suddenly jolted awake from his sleep.
"What's all the noise?" he shouted.
The tent flap was lifted, and a towering, muscular man rushed into the main tent: "Lord Cao, quickly leave! Zhang Xiu is raiding the camp!"
Zou Shi, who was lying next to Cao Cao, also woke up.
She curled up in a ball, hugging the blanket, trembling violently from fear.
The man who rushed into the tent was none other than Cao Cao's personal guard, Dian Wei.
Cao Cao quickly got up, and Dian Wei helped him put on his clothes. The two of them, without a second thought for Zou Shi, rushed out of the tent.
Suddenly attacked, the Cao army, leaderless, was in disarray.
Many soldiers, without even having time to put on their armor, fled in all directions in panic.
The vanguard of Zhang Xiu's cavalry, brandishing their weapons, cut down the Cao soldiers they encountered.
"Where is Cao Cao? Don't let him escape!" a voice reached Cao Cao's ears.
Startled, Cao Cao looked in the direction of the voice.
In the darkness, several fast horses scattered the fleeing Cao soldiers and charged towards him.
"Protect Lord Cao, quickly go!" Dian Wei, grabbing two Cao soldiers who were running past, shouted, drawing his short halberd and charging towards the oncoming cavalry.
The two Cao soldiers lifted Cao Cao and turned to run.
As they fled, Cao Cao looked back.
Rushing to the front of the horses, Dian Wei roared, his right hand's short halberd drawing a silver arc and piercing the head of the leading warhorse.
Another horse was about to charge past him, and he kicked the horse's belly with his foot, sending the horse and its rider tumbling.
The two soldiers supporting Cao Cao ran towards the horses tied nearby.
Just as Cao Cao mounted his horse, another wave of battle cries came from behind.
Seeing this, the soldiers quickly struck the horse's rump.
The horse, in pain, let out a long neigh and galloped away.
Cao Cao's mount was named Jueying, not as good as Lu Bu's Red Hare, but still a top-quality horse.
In the darkness, with battle cries everywhere, Cao Cao lay on the horse's back, not caring which direction he was going, and let Jueying carry him away at full speed.
When Zhang Xiu launched his surprise attack, Cao Shuo and his two guards had arrived at the rear of the main army.
Crouching in the snow, using the distant firelight, Cao Shuo watched the rear guard of Zhang Xiu's army.
"Originally, we planned to bypass the battlefield, but I didn't expect Zhang Xiu to be so impatient. With this commotion, if we want to get away, we'll need to steal some horses," Cao Shuo said softly to the two guards.
"Raiders have already mounted their horses, it won't be easy to steal them," one of the guards said.
"Steal?" Cao Shuo said, "Do you still need to steal when you're with me? If we want horses, we'll just go and take them!"
The two guards were taken aback and looked at him.
The battle was still ongoing, and Zhang Xiu's cavalry was pursuing the fleeing Cao soldiers. Where would they find horses to take?
Waving his hand, Cao Shuo led the two guards around to the side of the battlefield.
The defeated Cao soldiers were fleeing in all directions, with some of Zhang Xiu's cavalry following closely behind, slashing at them.
After running not far, Cao Shuo made a gesture.
Crouching in the snow again, the three of them looked ahead.
Not far from them, more than ten panicked Cao soldiers were surrounded by five or six mounted Zhang Xiu soldiers.
In terms of numbers, the Cao soldiers had the advantage.
However, most of the Cao soldiers had discarded their weapons and armor in their hasty retreat, making them easy prey for the fully armed Zhang Xiu soldiers.
"Six of them," Cao Shuo counted. "One for each of you, two each. Any problems?"
"No problems," the two guards replied.
At this point, they were no longer worried about Cao Shuo's ability to kill.
Although Cao Shuo was frail, his killing skills were no less than those of anyone they had seen.
If his body were stronger, he would be almost unmatched on the battlefield!
Cao Shuo led the two guards and quickly ran towards the cavalry.
Hearing footsteps behind them, two of the cavalry turned to look.
Seeing three infantrymen running over, one of the cavalry shouted, "You few, cut off their retreat, don't let anyone escape!"
Cao Shuo ignored him and continued running with his head down.
As he ran, he drew his long sword.
The two guards also drew their swords and charged towards the Zhang Xiu cavalry.
Thinking they were there to cut off the Cao soldiers' retreat, the cavalry paid no attention, and the two who had turned back even turned their faces away.
Just as they approached, Cao Shuo and his men immediately scattered.
Their arrival made the more than ten surrounded Cao soldiers even more panicked.
However, what happened next was unexpected for the trapped Cao soldiers.
Rushing between two cavalry, Cao Shuo thrust his sword into the waist of the one on the left. Before the one on the right could react, he had already pulled out his sword and slashed at the other's neck.
In a flash, one cavalry had blood gushing from his waist, and the other, clutching his throat, fell off his horse.
The other four cavalry, realizing something was wrong, were just stunned for a moment when two of them were knocked off their horses by the guards following Cao Shuo.
Seeing this, the more than ten Cao soldiers, without thinking, rushed towards the remaining two cavalry, knocking them and their horses to the ground.
After dealing with the Zhang Xiu cavalry, the Cao soldiers, red-eyed, turned to attack Cao Shuo.
"Second Young Master is here, who dares to be unreasonable?" one of the guards stepped forward, sword in hand.
Shouted at, the Cao soldiers stopped.
Only then did they realize that the handsome young man in enemy armor was actually the second young master of the Cao family!
"Still not leaving? Do you want to live or die?" Cao Shuo shouted, jumping onto a warhorse.
The more than ten Cao soldiers, coming to their senses, turned and fled, each for their own survival.
Cao Shuo and the two guards mounted their horses and headed towards the direction with the most Zhang Xiu soldiers.
