Chapter 17

The sound of swords being drawn filled the air as dozens of Blood Prison guards simultaneously pulled out their two-handed decapitating swords from their backs. The crystals embedded in the swords were activated, emitting a faint hum as the 1.8-meter-long decapitating swords were enveloped in a dazzling light.
Fayn Lam and the other two Grand Chancellors of the Great Berlin City State stood up at the same time. Jolus, already in a terrible mood due to Lightning's death, angrily shouted, "Who are you? How did you break in?"
This was the Blood Prison, the most heavily fortified prison of the Great Berlin City State. From the entrance to the deepest level of the Blood Prison, there were at least a hundred layers of defensive restrictions and formations. Even if the Grand Chancellors like Jolus used force, it would take them at least three to five days to break in!
But this white-haired, white-bearded old man had somehow sneaked in so mysteriously!
Thunder roared, and Jolus's body was enveloped in a thick layer of lightning. He waved his staff, and the lightning suddenly flickered. Twelve ball-shaped lightning bolts, each the size of a human head, silently emerged from the lightning and quickly began to rotate around Jolus.
These ball-shaped lightning bolts were smooth and lustrous, like crystal sculptures. Each core of the ball-shaped lightning contained a fist-sized purple-blue rune that flickered. These runes emitted a faint divine power, clearly originating from the same source as the words on the cross that restrained Yin Xuege.
Allen hummed lightly, and his body was suddenly surrounded by countless ice crystals. The ice crystals, like diamond dust, whistled and rapidly spiraled around his body, causing the temperature in the entire torture chamber to plummet. The boiling steel in the crucible instantly solidified. With a sharp cracking sound, the crucible was shattered into dozens of pieces, and the solidified steel ingot was covered in countless tiny cracks.
"Don't get excited, my friends!" Fayn Lam hurriedly stopped Jolus and Allen's impulsiveness. "He's a friend, a friend I know. Let me introduce you. This is Elder Jiang Ruren from the ancient Jiang family of the East!"
After introducing the white-haired, white-bearded old man, Fayn Lam smiled and extended her right hand to Jiang Ruren. "It's been over ten years, hasn't it? Honorable sir, I still remember that you killed that terrifying dark creature in Australia, saving me and my companions!"
Jiang Ruren glanced at Fayn Lam's extended hand but did not follow Western etiquette by shaking the well-maintained, fair, and delicate hand. Instead, he clasped his hands and made a bow, neither warm nor cold.
"High Priestess Fayn Lam, it has indeed been a long time. I have come here for your help!"
His gaze quickly swept over the blood-soaked torture chamber, and Jiang Ruren said calmly, "Of course, this will benefit you as well. It's a tremendous benefit! However, the news of my arrival cannot be leaked in the slightest, so I entered without permission. If I have offended anyone, please forgive me!"
Allen and Jolus's faces were far from pleasant. "If I have offended anyone"? You have already offended countless people! Regardless of Jiang Ruren's background, his bold infiltration of the deepest part of the Blood Prison was undoubtedly a slap in the face of all the leaders of the Great Berlin City State. How could this not be considered an offense?
Fayn Lam awkwardly retracted her right hand, gracefully lifted her long skirt, and performed an ancient Western court bow to Jiang Ruren. She glanced at her companions, her eyes flashing a warning not to make any rash moves, then smiled warmly at Jiang Ruren.
"I understand your feelings. For someone as esteemed as you, coming here must be for something very important. For someone as transcendent as you, trivial rules are meaningless."
She lightly clapped her hands and ordered all the guards to put away their weapons. Then, with authority, she pointed at Yin Xuege. "Take this dark child back to his cell and guard him strictly! You have seen his cruelty and deceit; don't give him any chance to do evil!"
Two executioners quickly took Yin Xuege off the cross, and several guards rushed forward, binding him tightly with special shackles. They then dragged him out of the torture chamber. Due to Jiang Ruren's arrival, the interrogation was undoubtedly interrupted.
Jiang Ruren looked at Yin Xuege curiously and asked with a smile, "He's just a child. What did he do?"
Jolus and Allen's faces darkened again, and their gazes towards Jiang Ruren were filled with hostility. Regardless of his strength, background, or relationship with Fayn Lam, as a guest, he seemed to be overstepping his bounds. Did they need to explain who Yin Xuege was to him?
Fayn Lam's lips twitched, but she still lowered her stance and explained with a smile.
"He himself has committed no crime, but his origin is problematic. He is a blood demon child, Elder Jiang Ruren. You should know the enmity between our Human Federation and those dark creatures. Since the world underwent those terrifying changes, the activities of these dark creatures have become increasingly rampant. We must be cautious and vigilant in dealing with them!"
Jiang Ruren nodded with a smile, but his tone was dismissive. "I see. Such a small child is not important. Fayn Lam, let's talk about serious matters! I have come here for something very important and need your help!"
As he spoke, Jiang Ruren casually glanced at Yin Xuege. A strange light flashed in his eyes, as if a thin purple halo had appeared around his black pupils. His gaze quickly swept over Yin Xuege's body, and his lips curled into a mysterious smile.
But he quickly retracted that smile, straightened his wide sleeves, and assumed the dignified and solemn demeanor of a wise elder, as if the person who had secretly infiltrated the Blood Prison had nothing to do with him.
Yin Xuege, bound by heavy shackles, could barely move. He squinted, using the slits in his eyelids to observe the surroundings. One heavy door after another, one complex restriction after another, his heart sank with each layer, and he felt a chill run through his body.
With his current strength, he had no chance of escaping from the Blood Prison! Not to mention him, even the family's strong warriors like Yin Ji and Yin Huang might find it difficult to escape if they were imprisoned here.
The door to Yin Xuege's cell was opened, and he was thrown in like trash. A guard muttered in a low voice, "Kid, you're lucky today! Next time, you won't be so lucky! You'll die a terrible death!"
"He will certainly die a terrible death!" A voice filled with resentment echoed. Dressed in a white robe, Bright held a silver cross and quickly walked over, flanked by several other white-robed men.
Standing at the door of Yin Xuege's cell, Bright angrily growled, "Wasn't he supposed to be under interrogation? How did this damned thing get sent back? Didn't the three of you personally interrogate him? Why was he sent back?"
Behind the small window of the wooden cell door, a large green eye rolled outward. Umu, in a low voice, sighed, "I really envy you, you stinky bats. After enduring torture, your bodies don't seem to have any injuries. Unlike us, when we get beaten, the wounds take a long time to heal!"
Bright glanced at Umu's cell door and slapped the protruding ball on it. A blinding white light illuminated Umu's cell, and countless thumb-thick light arrows shot around, causing Umu to scream in pain.
"Damn brat, Umu didn't provoke you, why did you attack me?"
Umu howled in pain, and the high-temperature white light arrows created dozens of scorched pits on his body, spewing out large amounts of blood, turning him into a blood-soaked figure. Umu was furious, feeling that this was a complete injustice.
"Lowly beast, it's not your place to speak here!" Bright coldly rebuked and then looked at the motionless Yin Xuege on the ground. "Tell me, why wasn't he being interrogated, but sent back? He's a Daywalker! A Daywalker who can walk freely in the sunlight! He must know the vampires' plans!"
"Oh? A Daywalker?" Jiang Ruren's voice echoed from a distance. "Fayn Lam, if I heard correctly, this child said that the little one is a Daywalker? Haha, those rare blood demons who are not afraid of sunlight?"
The three Grand Chancellors of the Great Berlin City State, along with the uninvited guest Jiang Ruren, had already arrived at Yin Xuege's cell. Jiang Ruren's face was full of smiles, his smile radiant. Fayn Lam and the other two, however, looked somewhat stiff and uneasy, and Jolus glared at Bright, forcing him to lower his head, not daring to speak again.
"Close the cell door and guard it strictly!" Allen took a deep breath, forcing a smile and shaking his head helplessly at Jiang Ruren. "He's just a minor blood demon child, not an important figure! These young people nowadays are easily alarmed!"
Seemingly sensing the oddity of the three Grand Chancellors, Bright dared not speak further. Even though he wanted to torture Yin Xuege to death, he obediently followed the three Grand Chancellors, and they left the Blood Prison.
