The next morning,
Yamayama Naoki got into his beloved car and set off,
Sure enough, the morning temperature was quite cool, and the traffic on the road was very smooth,
When he arrived at the meeting place in Akihabara, he found that Fujita Keiko was already waiting. Over the past half year, in a white shirt and black skirt, with a neat and tidy appearance, this young lady had become even more like an office lady.
"Keiko-san, you're here so early? Did you wait long?"
Seeing Yamayama Naoki get out of a convertible sports car, Fujita Keiko was once again amazed by his earning ability,
"Not really, is this car Naoki-san's own purchase?"
"Hey, I've had it for quite a while now."
Fujita Keiko then said, "As expected of Naoki-san, you're amazing!"
After several months, hearing the familiar praise again, it felt a bit like déjà vu. Indeed, in Japan, the only way to praise someone is to say they're amazing....
The shop in Akihabara was a ground-floor store, about 20 tsubo in size. The price was not expensive, only 80 million yen, much cheaper than the shops in Shibuya.
Knowing the location, there wasn't much else to see, as it would eventually be rented out anyway.
"Keiko-san, there's no problem with this shop. I plan to buy it."
"Hey! Then let's go to the next location." Fujita Keiko said, indeed Naoki-san is straightforward.
Fujita Keiko led the way, with Yamayama Naoki following behind. They drove to a residence in Chiyoda Ward.
It was a typical Japanese single-family house, with a plot of only 30 tsubo. However, the style was a Western-style two-story villa. The first floor had a living room, kitchen, storage room, and bathroom, while the second floor had two bedrooms and a toilet. There was also a spacious balcony that protruded outward.
From the outside, it looked a bit like the Makino family's house that Yamayama Naoki used to rent. The price was 42 million yen.
The owner had already emptied the house, and Yamayama Naoki saw the interior. At least some of the hard finishes were quite modern, with an open kitchen, marble countertops, crystal chandeliers, and solid wood floors that were about 70-80% new.
Behind the living room was a full glass sliding door that led directly to a wooden corridor, and there was even a cherry blossom tree in the yard.
While showing him around, Fujita Keiko explained, "This house was built and renovated a few years ago. The owner is a businessman in the import and export trade, who occasionally stays here when he returns. He has now immigrated to the United States for development, so he wants to sell this house.
The house style is Western but incorporates Japanese characteristics. The living room, kitchen, corridor, and courtyard on the first floor are connected by Japanese sliding doors, which seem to have been designed by an interior designer."
These days, anyone who can build a house in Chiyoda is usually quite wealthy.
And being able to immigrate to the United States for development is even more enviable.
After a few rounds, Yamayama Naoki had no complaints about the interior. The courtyard outside might need some maintenance, but the combination of Western and Japanese styles looked quite good.
"Keiko-san, after looking around, there's no problem. Let's go with it!" Yamayama Naoki decided directly.
"Hey, I'll take care of the procedures as soon as possible!"
Fujita Keiko was delighted to have signed two big deals and even wanted to treat Yamayama Naoki to a meal.
"Naoki-san, would you like to have lunch together? To celebrate buying two more properties?"
"Sorry, Keiko-san, I still have to go to the Shogakukan publishing house in the morning. Let's do it another day." Yamayama Naoki politely declined Fujita Keiko's invitation again.
"Will it take a long time at the publishing house? I can wait and eat later~" Fujita Keiko looked a bit reluctant, trying to persuade him.
"It might take some time, I have to sign a copyright contract."
"Eh? Has Naoki-san published a book?"
"Hey, I wrote a novel a while ago....
"Eh?!!"
In fact, the trip to the publishing house was quite short. All the terms had been discussed, and it was a standard contract. With Morikawa Koji, a senior editor, explaining everything clearly, it took less than an hour. By the time it was over, it was not even 10:00 AM.
Of course, it was too early for lunch, so they agreed to treat each other when the first batch of novels was produced.
....
At noon, Yamayama Naoki found a sushi restaurant. With the weather getting hotter, only cold dishes could really whet the appetite.
Having woken up early in the morning, he felt a bit drowsy after eating. By the time he got home, it was the hottest part of the day.
After parking his car, Yamayama Naoki remembered that the fridge upstairs was empty.
Not wanting to go out again in the afternoon, he had to stop by a convenience store to restock his fridge.
On the way to buy groceries, he passed by a flower shop, which reminded him of yesterday.
So he bought some flower seeds and pots, planning to grow some green plants himself, including some cosmos.
When he arrived at the apartment building,
Haruyama Kazuya, Uesugi Eda, and Akita Shige, the three kids, were indeed playing in the old house again.
Seeing them enthusiastically playing a game similar to hopscotch in the shade of the yard, with no intention of stopping even though they were drenched in sweat,
Yamayama Naoki was speechless,
Do kids these days not fear the heat?
"Hey, you three~"
Seeing the big brother who seemed fierce before but later gave them cola, the kids were momentarily speechless,
It was Akita Shige who spoke first, in a very social manner,
"Oyaji, what do you need?"
Oyaji? Yamayama Naoki laughed. Is this how yakuza members address their boss?
If you call me Oyaji, you should at least snap your fingers and say "Kono~yaro~~~" to show respect....
"Kono~yaro~~~" Yamayama Naoki did it right away, "You guys actually know? Has my yakuza identity been exposed?"
This left the kids at a loss,
Oh no, we've really met a real one....
After a moment of mischief, Yamayama Naoki laughed.
"Alright, alright, don't play this yakuza game. Be careful you don't really become yakuza~"
"I've seen you guys playing here a lot lately. Does the old man have any objections?"
"Hey, Grandpa Nagai said that as long as we keep it clean, he'll let us use the yard~"
"Is that so?"
Yamayama Naoki began to guide their thinking, "Since you've accepted his kindness, have you thought about how to repay him?"
Haruyama Kazuya, Uesugi Eda, and Akita Shige looked at each other,
It seemed they hadn't really thought about repaying him.
Haruyama Kazuya said, "How about treating Grandpa Nagai to some cola?"
"Are you an idiot? Old people generally don't like cola!" Uesugi Eda replied, "How about helping with the cleaning?"
Akita Shige said, "Grandpa Nagai doesn't seem to like people entering his house. It's quite dark inside....
"Is there a monster in there?"
The other two started to get creative with their ideas.
Seeing the conversation veer off track, Yamayama Naoki quickly steered it back,
"Actually, repaying him is quite simple."
The three pairs of eyes looked at him, "Nani?"
"Look at the yard, it's empty after the weeds are cleared. Why not add some decorations?"
"Move some rocks? Stack them into a hill?" Haruyama Kazuya suggested a not-so-good idea,
"Add some sand, and you can make a karesansui (dry landscape garden)." Uesugi Eda, surprisingly, had a good idea.
Akita Shige dismissed the idea with one sentence, "That would cost money, right?"
Seeing the kids getting off track, Yamayama Naoki said directly,
"I just bought some flower seeds. I can give you some. Planting some flowers should be enough."
He then took out a small bag of seeds, about the size of a palm.
Seeing only that much, "How many flowers can this grow?"
"Probably a few thousand, if they survive~"
"So many?"
"Just like sprinkling salt, sprinkle a little, cover with a thin layer of soil, and remember to water them."
Then it's up to nature. No one knows how many cosmos will grow in the end.
Watching the three kids scatter the seeds in most of the yard, Yamayama Naoki went home with anticipation.
Maybe in the fall, the yard will be full of flowers~
