Japan, Tokyo.

As the sky grew darker, Gu Qingye, who had been busy all day packing, stretched lazily at the window, looking at the golden sunset that was scattered on the streets, feeling particularly relaxed.

From today on, this place would be her home. Thinking this, Gu Qingye turned around and looked at the small room again, a smile appearing on her face.

Although the room was small, it had a kitchen and bathroom, and more importantly, it was cheap, which was the most satisfying point for Gu Qingye, who was not well-off.

According to Japanese custom, after moving into a new home, one needs to visit the neighbors.

So, after resting for a while, Gu Qingye went out with a small gift she had prepared.

"Hello, I just moved in next door, my name is Shōzan Aoye, please take care of me," Gu Qingye knocked on the neighbor's door and said to the balding man who opened it.

"Hello, hello," the balding man said friendly.

Shōzan Aoye was Aoye's Japanese name. Aoye's mother was a Sino-Japanese mixed-blood, so Aoye was a quarter Japanese. The surname Shōzan belonged to her mother.

The surname Gu came from her father, so her real name should be Gu Qingye. However, due to the well-known xenophobia of the Japanese, since the family moved from China to Japan three years ago, to avoid some trouble, she used her mother's surname while in Japan.

Originally, Aoye had a happy family, with loving parents. However, everything changed half a year ago when she was in the third year of junior high school. Her parents died in an accident, leaving only Aoye.

After greeting the neighbors one by one, whether it was the balding construction worker next door or the Shibuya-style beauty in the room next to her, everyone welcomed Aoye's arrival warmly!

It didn't take long for Aoye to finish greeting everyone.

Back in the room, Aoye didn't continue to unpack, because tomorrow was the first day of high school, and Aoye didn't want to be late on her first day.

So, Aoye walked into the small bathroom and started to wash up.

While washing, Aoye suddenly noticed a black shadow flash by in the mirror.

Aoye looked up, but the mirror was empty.

Shaking her head, thinking she had seen things, Aoye continued to wash. But as soon as she lowered her head, she saw that the water from the faucet was no longer water, but blood—dark red blood, with a strong smell of blood.

"Ahh!" Aoye screamed, stepping back two steps, sweating profusely, and staring at the faucet that continued to spout dark red blood. She raised her hands to look, and they were also covered in blood.

With wide, frightened eyes, Aoye looked up, her gaze fixed on the mirror in front of her.

In the mirror, she saw a figure in white, with disheveled hair, standing quietly beside her.

Aoye was immediately stunned, her lips trembling, her teeth chattering.

But she still mustered the courage to turn her head and look to the side.

The next moment, Aoye's eyes widened to their limit, and a figure with disheveled hair, similar to the one in the movie "The Ring," was floating beside her.

This was not a ghost from a movie but a real ghost that appeared beside her. It could be said that Aoye's bravery was enough to prevent her from fainting immediately.

Aoye screamed like a child, backing out of the bathroom in terror.

The female ghost followed, floating out after her.

At this moment, Aoye was filled with regret, realizing that she shouldn't have rented this apartment just to save money. Now she understood why the rent for this apartment was so cheap and why there was a strange rule requiring three years' rent to be paid in advance.

As the female ghost pursued her relentlessly, Aoye, in a panic, continued to back away. The semi-transparent ghost suddenly raised her head, her eyes, completely black, looking at Aoye, with two streaks of blood running down from the corners of her eyes.

Aoye was so frightened that her body trembled, her legs weak. In her hurried retreat, she knocked over several unopened suitcases behind her.

At the same time, the ghost's floating figure lunged forward, passing through Aoye's body with a whoosh. Aoye felt the ghost's figure growing larger in her vision, then passing through her body, and a bone-chilling cold instantly invaded her internal organs.

Whether it was due to the shock or the ghost's cold, Aoye felt her body stiffen, and her already unsteady body fell backward.

Then, with a thud, Aoye's head hit the corner of a table, her eyes rolled back, and she fell onto the tatami floor, unconscious.

Aoye had a dream, a very long dream.

On a vast plain, tens of thousands of people were fighting. One side was ragged refugees, the other was an army in full armor.

Aoye was among the refugees, holding a rusty iron knife, fighting against the army.

"Kill!" Aoye shouted, cutting down a soldier, and was splattered with blood.

On a nine-story platform, Aoye stood alone.

From a distance, it could be seen that this was in a prosperous and rich ancient city.

Below the platform, civil and military officials were lined up on both sides, with rows of armored guards from near to far.

"Long live the emperor, long live, long live for ten thousand years," the officials below knelt and shouted.

"Rise, all of you," Aoye's voice said.

On the battlefield, generals and soldiers waited for the emperor's command.

As Aoye drew his sword and pointed it forward, the vast army advanced in formation.

Where the sword pointed, nothing could stand in its way.

On a dangerous peak with strange rocks, Aoye, wearing a tattered battle robe, sat dazed against a large rock. The blood on the robe had dried to a dark brown, emitting a foul smell.

After sitting for a long time, Aoye stood up and slowly walked to the edge of the cliff.

As she reached the edge of the cliff and took a step without hesitation, just as she was about to fall into the abyss, a gentle breeze blew, and Aoye, who had not yet taken the step, fell to the edge of the cliff, unconscious.

Then, with the breeze, a figure in a Taoist robe appeared beside her.

On a mountain peak in a storm, a small thatched cottage stood.

In front of the cottage, on a stone the size of a millstone, Aoye, wearing a simple coarse Taoist robe, sat cross-legged with her eyes closed.

Suddenly, a bolt of lightning struck, accompanied by a loud thunder, landing on Aoye. The lightning enveloped Aoye's body and was gradually absorbed, disappearing into her body.

After absorbing the lightning, Aoye opened her eyes, which were also filled with electric light.

"From today on, my Taoist name is Leixiaozi."
