"Then what should we do here?" Battlefront Yukitsuki asked Aoba, who was about to leave.
"Just leave it as it is. No one will think that something this big was done by just the two of us; they will only think it's a gang-related feud." Aoba said indifferently as he pushed the door open.
"Can you tell me why you're helping me?" Battlefront Yukitsuki asked Aoba, who was about to walk out the door.
"Why? There are many reasons. Because you're beautiful, because you remind me of my past self, because I'm in a good mood today. Of course, the most important reason is that I find you likable." Aoba said, waving his hand behind him.
"Will we meet again?" Battlefront Yukitsuki asked.
"If we have a connection, we will naturally meet again." Aoba said.
"Thank you very much for your help today. Thank you." Battlefront Yukitsuki bowed again and said.
"You're welcome." Aoba's final words came as the door closed.
With Aoba's departure, Battlefront Yukitsuki also left.
Under the cover of night, the two left smoothly.
Fortunately, the nearby residents all knew this was the territory of the Tsuda gang, so even though they heard the continuous screams and gunshots, no one dared to come and check. At most, they would secretly call the police after hearing the gunshots.
However, by the time the police arrived, the two were long gone.
"Xiaobai, how do you feel after taking revenge?" Aoba asked Bai Gui softly, who was following him.
"I feel empty." Bai Gui replied.
"Do you still hate them?" Aoba asked.
"No, I don't hate them anymore, but I also feel like I've lost my goal, and suddenly I have no motivation." Bai Gui replied.
"Is that so? Actually, this is a good sign!" Aoba said with a smile.
"Is this a good thing?" Bai Gui asked, puzzled.
"At least this way, you won't be thinking about nothing but cultivation all day. What is the purpose of cultivation? It's different for everyone! But it's definitely not to exhaust yourself every day studying ancient texts. Otherwise, why cultivate at all! I only gradually understood these principles later on." Aoba explained.
"Then can I just continue like this?" Bai Gui asked, confused.
"Of course not." Aoba said firmly.
"But didn't you just say that cultivation isn't about studying ancient texts?" Bai Gui was puzzled.
"I told you not to study ancient texts, meaning you shouldn't be so focused on the inheritance in the Bagua Disk that you never come out. I didn't say you should stop advancing altogether. You should still study, but in moderation." Aoba explained.
"Master, I still don't understand." Bai Gui said, bewildered.
"It's okay if you don't understand. You'll understand gradually! For now, just follow your heart. Since you feel you've lost your goal and motivation, take some time to relax. One day, you'll find your own path, and then you'll understand why you cultivate." Aoba said with a smile.
As they talked, Aoba walked to the convenience store where he usually bought alcohol, thinking that the alcohol at home was running low. He entered the store and bought a lot of beer and some snacks to go with it.
Although there was a faint smell of blood on him, Aoba had deliberately avoided getting splattered, so there were no obvious bloodstains on his clothes. The convenience store clerk at most sniffed curiously but didn't think much of it.
By this time, it was already completely dark, so Aoba didn't encounter Kitagawa Kako, who usually enjoyed sitting on the wooden floor under the apartment building's eaves, drinking tea and watching the sunset.
Pushing open the apartment door, the first room was Kitagawa Kako's manager's room, which was open. Kitagawa Kako was sitting in the room, lost in thought.
Startled by the sound of the door opening, Kitagawa Kako looked up and saw Aoba.
"Good evening, Aoba-kun." Kitagawa Kako greeted.
"Good evening, Kako." Aoba replied.
"You bought beer again?" Kitagawa Kako said, looking at the large pile of beer Aoba was carrying.
"Sure, do you want to join me?" Aoba asked with a smile.
"Sure!" To Aoba's surprise, Kitagawa Kako agreed readily.
"Really? You're going to drink?" Aoba asked, puzzled.
"Of course, Aoba-kun, are you stingy or something?" Kitagawa Kako said with a gentle smile.
"Of course not. Wait, I'll go change my clothes and be right back. Leave the beer here." Aoba put the beer he was carrying at Kitagawa Kako's door and walked to his room to change out of his blood-stained clothes.
Back in his room, Aoba placed the Bagua Disk he was wearing on the desk.
"Alright, Xiaobai, I'm going to have a drink. You can do as you please! Think about why you cultivate. Even if you can't figure it out right away, don't worry. It took me over a hundred years to understand." Aoba said as he changed into a new set of clothes, not bothering to hide from Xiaobai.
Xiaobai didn't mind Aoba changing in front of him. As a ghost, he had few human traits left, such as shyness.
"I will, Master." Xiaobai replied.
So, after changing, Aoba walked back to Kitagawa Kako's manager's room.
When he arrived at Kitagawa Kako's door, he found it still open, and the beer had been brought inside, but Kitagawa Kako was not in the room.
However, Aoba's spiritual sense told him that Kitagawa Kako was in the small kitchen preparing something.
Saying, "I'm coming in," Aoba walked into the room without hesitation.
Kitagawa Kako's voice came from the kitchen, "Aoba-kun, please sit down. I'll prepare some snacks."
"Getting to taste Kako's cooking, it seems my luck is good today!" Aoba said, sitting cross-legged at the low table in the center of the room and opening a can of beer to drink.
"It's just some simple snacks. If Aoba-kun wants to eat my cooking, I'll treat you another day." Kitagawa Kako replied.
"That would be great." Aoba replied, quickly finishing a can of beer.
"Aoba-kun, how could you start drinking without me? You're so sly." Kitagawa Kako came out with a few dishes and gave Aoba a playful glare at the empty beer can on the table.
"Sorry, sorry." Aoba laughed, picked up the chopsticks, and said, "Let me try the taste," and started eating without hesitation.
This completely un-Japanese, unceremonious style was a bit unfamiliar to Kitagawa Kako, but it also made her feel relaxed.
"Mm, it's good, really good!" Aoba praised, giving a thumbs up.
So, Kitagawa Kako smiled, sat down, opened a can of beer, and started drinking with Aoba.
