Chapter 60

The campus, completely shrouded in the night, had a sinister feeling that it lacked during the day.
Perhaps this is why so many ghost stories are set in schools! The stark contrast between the bustling campus during the day and the eerie silence at night indeed makes one feel a chill to the bone.
At this moment, Ishizaka Yuma stood alone at the school gate, looking at the shadows of the trees swaying within the campus, hesitating about whether to go in or not.
He had originally planned to take his homework home, but after dinner, he realized he had forgotten to bring the workbook he needed to complete his assignments.
As the class president, Ishizaka Yuma could not bear the shame of not doing his homework, so he decided to return to school to retrieve the workbook.
After hesitating for a moment at the school gate, his pride as the class president finally overcame his fear, and Ishizaka Yuma climbed over the closed gate and entered the school.
The shadows of the swaying trees cast dancing shadows on the ground, and the bright streetlights outside the school contrasted sharply with the pitch-black campus. Ishizaka Yuma quickened his pace towards the teaching building.
He pushed the main door and was surprised to find it unlocked. He had been prepared to climb in through a window, but now he could skip that step.
Ishizaka Yuma pushed open the glass door, and with the creaking sound, he slipped into the teaching building.
The glass door slammed shut, and the sounds that seemed normal during the day now sounded piercing in the night, making Ishizaka Yuma's heart race even faster.
"Who's there?" He shouted, seeing a shadow flash in front of him.
The shadow disappeared.
Sweat began to bead on Ishizaka Yuma's forehead. As someone born with the ability to see spirits, he had seen countless ghosts.
But precisely because he had seen so many, he was even more cautious!
However, as far as he knew, there should be no ghosts in the school. At least, he had never seen any spirits while at school. Could they be hiding during the day and only come out at night?
Ishizaka Yuma immediately quickened his pace and headed up the stairs to the floor where his classroom was.
Soon, he arrived at his classroom, pulled open the door, and without turning on the lights, he took out his flashlight and went to his seat. He quickly found the workbook he needed and then left the classroom, heading down the stairs.
A series of creaking sounds came from a classroom not far from the stairwell, but when Ishizaka Yuma looked in that direction, he saw nothing.
Without hesitation, he broke into a run and soon reached the ground floor, pushing open the main door and rushing out.
Once outside the teaching building, Ishizaka Yuma finally breathed a sigh of relief, but he still did not relax until he climbed over the school gate and stood under the streetlights outside the school.
Looking back at the dark school, he silently vowed never to come to school at night again. Then, he turned and walked home.
However, Ishizaka Yuma did not know that, not far behind him, in the shadow of the school gate, a figure that seemed to blend into the darkness was watching him. Only after confirming that he had truly left did the figure turn and return to the teaching building.
"Miss, the person has left," the figure reported to another figure with beautiful blonde hair. It turned out that the one who had been watching Ishizaka Yuma until he left was Miyake Reika.
"He's gone, so let's continue!" Yamawaki Natsu said, standing by a window and looking in the direction where Ishizaka Yuma had disappeared.
Then, the two of them turned and headed to the rooftop of the teaching building.
On the completely open rooftop, a magic circle made of various metal components was only half assembled.
With the help of a few not very bright lights, Yamawaki Natsu and Miyake Reika resumed assembling the magic circle.
It must be said that the convenience of modern society is also reflected in the field of magic. In ancient times, collecting the numerous special metals required for such a magic circle would have taken a magician a long time, let alone crafting them into a suitable magic circle, which would have taken even longer. In modern society, however, Yamawaki Natsu simply placed an order, and a machine shop quickly made it for her. All that was left was the assembly.
However, assembling the magic circle was not the end. Next, Yamawaki Natsu and Miyake Reika, master and servant, began to place various instruments in the corners of the campus. It was not until the night grew deeper that they finally finished.
"Ah, I'm so tired!" Yamawaki Natsu stretched, her lazy posture and the graceful curve of her body quite eye-catching, but unfortunately, the only one who could see this was Miyake Reika.
"Let's go back and rest, Miss," Miyake Reika suggested.
"Go back? But I feel a bit reluctant to leave at this in-between time. Let's go to Ono-Tei for a drink," Yamawaki Natsu said.
"Very well, as you wish, Miss," Miyake Reika replied.
"Reika, come in and have a drink with me!" Yamawaki Natsu invited.
"I am your bodyguard and must always remain alert and as inconspicuous as possible. Therefore, I cannot comply with your request," Miyake Reika refused.
"Reika, you're always so serious!" Yamawaki Natsu said with a smile.
"Protecting you is my mission," Miyake Reika said.
"Alright, then I'll call that guy to keep me company," Yamawaki Natsu said, taking out her phone and dialing a number.
"Hello, is this Uesugi? Do you want to come out for a drink?" Yamawaki Natsu said over the phone.
"Really? You're already at Ono-Tei? Looks like we're on the same wavelength. I was just about to go there too," Yamawaki Natsu said as she walked towards her luxury car.
"Alright, wait for me there. I'll be there soon, and don't leave early," Yamawaki Natsu threatened before hanging up.
"Let's go, Reika. We're heading to Ono-Tei," Yamawaki Natsu said, getting into her luxury car.
"Yes, Miss," Miyake Reika replied, starting the car.
Thus, the luxury car drove into the night, heading towards Ono-Tei.
