Everyone went home alone, except for Aoba, who had someone to accompany him.
No, not a person, but a ghost, as he was returning with the White Ghost.
The White Ghost, whose form was invisible, floated slightly behind Aoba, and they chatted as they walked.
"How did you feel in that environment?" Aoba asked.
"Very good, it felt like my spirit body was being nourished all the time," the White Ghost replied.
"So, being in a place rich in ghostly energy, as long as you have the right cultivation method, it's not difficult to condense a spirit body!" Aoba nodded and said.
"Yes, Master. I didn't quite understand before, but now that I've experienced that environment, I understand. Even though it was just a short time, I feel that my spirit body is much more condensed than before," the White Ghost said, feeling the difference in his spirit body.
"Let me give you something!" Aoba said, taking out a jade plaque filled with ghostly energy from his bag and handing it to the White Ghost.
Even before he took it, the White Ghost could already feel the abundant ghostly energy emanating from the jade plaque.
"Master, what is this?" the White Ghost asked in surprise.
"This is one of the biggest gains from this trip! I prepared it especially for you, so your cultivation speed will also increase significantly," Aoba smiled and pushed the jade plaque into the White Ghost's hand.
So the White Ghost quickly partially materialized one of his hands and took the jade plaque! In his other hand, he still held his Eight Trigram Disk.
"Thank you, Master." Taking the jade plaque and feeling the energy emanating from it, the White Ghost thanked him with delight, eager to start cultivating immediately.
"Alright, go ahead! You don't have to walk slowly with me," Aoba guessed the White Ghost's thoughts and smiled.
"Then, Master, I'll go back first." The White Ghost didn't stand on ceremony, but after bowing to Aoba, he immediately sped up and headed towards the apartment.
Aoba watched the White Ghost disappear into the distance, shook his head, and continued walking at his own leisurely pace.
Passing by a bakery that was still open, the freshly baked bread emitted a tempting aroma that even Aoba, who rarely ate bread, couldn't resist. He paused, turned, and pushed open the door to the bakery.
"Welcome!" Aoba heard the greeting as soon as he entered. It was a young woman in her twenties, dressed in a white uniform, who was smiling and bowing to him.
"The smell here is so good! I couldn't help but be drawn in," Aoba smiled and said.
"It's freshly baked French croissants. Would you like to try some?" A man in the same white uniform smiled and asked from behind the counter.
"Sure, I'll take two! And I'll look around a bit more," Aoba said as he walked into the small shop.
"Sure, I'll get them for you right away." The woman smiled sweetly and turned to prepare the bread for Aoba.
Soon, the bread was ready.
"Here's your bread." The woman placed the bread in a paper bag and handed it to Aoba.
"This smell is irresistible! I'll try it first!" Aoba took the paper bag and tore off a piece of bread, putting it in his mouth without hesitation.
"Mm, delicious." Aoba praised.
The woman and the man both laughed, exchanging a glance filled with sweetness.
"We have seats inside. Would you like to sit down and eat?" the woman asked.
"Sure, I'll finish eating before I leave," Aoba nodded and walked to one of the two tables, sitting down at one of them.
"Would you like a cup of coffee?" the woman asked.
"Coffee? Come to think of it, I haven't had it many times. Thank you!" Aoba nodded and smiled.
"Sure, please wait a moment." The woman turned and quickly brought a cup of coffee.
"Thank you." Aoba thanked her.
"You're welcome. If you need anything else, just let me know." The woman smiled, turned back to the counter, and started working with the man.
The two of them placed the newly baked bread on the shelves and attached price tags, waiting for customers to come and buy.
Occasionally, their hands would touch, and they would exchange glances and smiles, a scene so sweet it could blind any single person.
"Are you a couple?" Aoba asked curiously.
"No!" they both said at the same time, then exchanged a glance and smiled sweetly, adding, "We are a married couple."
"Married couple? Already married?" Aoba was also surprised.
"Yes, we just got married last month," the man replied.
"Just got married? No wonder you two look like you're still in the honeymoon phase," Aoba laughed.
"Not just now, we will always be in the honeymoon phase," the man said, looking at the woman with a happy expression.
Aoba smiled, took a sip of coffee, and nodded in satisfaction.
"Very good, the coffee is delicious." Aoba praised.
"Thank you for your kind words." The woman stopped her work, bowed, and smiled happily, clearly pleased that her coffee had received a good review from a customer.
After placing the newly baked bread on the shelves, the man returned to the counter and started making a cake.
Aoba watched curiously as the man skillfully spread cream on the cake, creating beautiful patterns, and added small pieces of fruit and finely chopped chocolate, making the cake look like a work of art that one would hesitate to eat. Soon, the cake was finished, and the man placed it on the counter, starting on the next one.
"Can I have a few pieces of cake?" Aoba finished the last bite of the croissant and the last sip of coffee, then asked.
"Sure, which ones would you like?" the woman asked.
"Um, I'll take this one, this one, and this one." Aoba came to the counter and chose a few pieces from the cakes the man had just made.
The woman immediately packed the cakes into a beautiful box for him.
"Thank you for your purchase. We hope to see you again."
After paying, Aoba took the box of cakes and pushed open the door to leave, hearing the voices of the man and woman behind him.
Aoba turned and nodded slightly in acknowledgment before closing the door and preparing to leave.
However, just as he had taken a few steps, he saw two high school girls in uniform laughing and talking as they pushed open the door and entered the shop.
The shop rang out with the greeting, "Welcome!"
Smelling the lingering sweet aroma in the air, Aoba suddenly wanted to eat a croissant again. But after smacking his lips and feeling the lingering taste of the croissant in his mouth, Aoba smiled, shook his head, and walked away.
