"Smelling a long-lost stench!" Aoba frowned and said.

"Stench?" Nawanatsu was puzzled, trying hard to sniff but still couldn't smell anything.

"Follow me. If my senses are correct, there's something bad over there!" Aoba's spiritual awareness had already extended outward.

Guided by his spiritual awareness, Aoba led Nawanatsu through a narrow alley and came to a trash bin, where they saw two figures, one large and one small, lying beside it.

They were two corpses, especially the smaller one, a child no more than ten years old, who had been eviscerated. From their expressions of pain and terror, it was clear how much suffering and fear they endured before death.

Seeing the two corpses, Aoba didn't react much, but Nawanatsu frowned slightly, feeling a bit uncomfortable. Fortunately, Nawanatsu wasn't a delicate young lady; she had seen corpses before, especially the bizarre ones killed by Mifune Retsu, with intestines and limbs scattered everywhere. But seeing the two corpses before her still made her feel uncomfortable, indicating the state of the corpses.

However, besides the discomfort, Nawanatsu felt more anger, an intense anger.

From the two figures, it was clear that they were a mother and daughter.

From the mother's posture at the time of death, it was evident that she was protecting her daughter until the very end! Unfortunately, she didn't succeed, and in the end, both she and her daughter died, dying in such agony.

A sense of empathy suddenly surged through Nawanatsu's body. She thought of herself; her mother had also protected her so desperately back then.

Thus, Nawanatsu felt even more hatred for the deranged murderer.

While Nawanatsu stood there, clenching her fists to suppress her anger,

Aoba had already approached the corpses and bent down to examine them.

Soon, Aoba found something on the corpses and picked it up.

It was a tuft of white hair, like ordinary white fluff. Aoba sniffed it carefully and said, "As expected."

"Aoba, did you find something?" Nawanatsu, who had finally calmed down, asked.

"I already know what the murderer is." Aoba stood up and nodded.

"What is the murderer?" Nawanatsu asked eagerly.

"The murderer is not human!" Aoba turned to her and said.

"Not human?" Nawanatsu was surprised.

"Right, the murderer is a zombie." Aoba repeated.

"Zombie? The legendary zombie?" Nawanatsu's eyes widened.

"Right, look at this." Aoba showed her the tuft of white hair.

"What is it?" Nawanatsu was puzzled.

"It's hair from a hair zombie! It still has the distinctive stench of a zombie." Aoba explained.

"Hair zombie?" Nawanatsu looked at the tuft of white hair in confusion.

"Right, and the reason I'm sure it's a zombie, besides the hair left at the scene and the lingering stench of a zombie in the air, is one more thing! The amount of blood at the scene is incorrect. A person being eviscerated would definitely not bleed so little, so it's certain that most of the blood was either sucked dry by the zombie or collected and stored." Aoba said confidently.

"Aoba, what exactly is a hair zombie?" Nawanatsu asked.

"A hair zombie is a type of zombie, the most basic kind! A hair zombie's body is covered in hair about an inch long, and the color of the hair deepens as the zombie grows stronger. As the hair color deepens, the zombie becomes more powerful! At first, a hair zombie's hair is white, known as a white hair zombie or white zombie. As the hair color deepens, it eventually becomes a black hair zombie or black zombie! The black zombie is the most powerful type of hair zombie! However, the hair zombie responsible for this incident is clearly still a white zombie based on the hair." Aoba continued to explain.

"So this was done by a white hair zombie?" Nawanatsu took the tuft of white hair from Aoba and examined it carefully.

"Right, this white hair zombie isn't very strong, so it usually hides among ordinary people, only revealing its true form when it wants to feed!" Aoba explained.

"Hide among ordinary people? How do they hide?" Nawanatsu continued to ask.

"When a hair zombie retracts its hair into its body, except for being paler than ordinary people, there is no difference. They just have a more vacant gaze and a stronger body odor, so unless you're a professional, you won't notice! However, hair zombies at this stage are still afraid of sunlight and rarely move during the day, even if they do, they try to avoid sunlight." Aoba explained.

"What is the strength of a white hair zombie?" Nawanatsu kept asking.

"In ancient times, if someone wanted to capture a white hair zombie, it would be very troublesome! After becoming a zombie, even a common white hair zombie is much stronger than an ordinary person, and its body is hard to injure and doesn't bleed. A single slash that would kill an ordinary person would only leave a wound on it, and it would heal after a few bloodsuckings."

"But in modern society, with a gun, dealing with one or two white hair zombies is a piece of cake! Although they move faster than ordinary people, they are still within human limits. Their bodies are harder but can't withstand bullets, so with a gun, it's easy to deal with them. Of course, the key is to hit the target! Generally, if you shoot their head, the zombie is eliminated!" Aoba explained in detail.

"I understand." Nawanatsu nodded.

She then asked Aoba more questions about zombies, and Aoba answered them all, thinking she was just curious.

After Nawanatsu's questions were answered, Aoba turned his gaze back to the two corpses on the ground.

"Alright, let's leave here! Then we'll find a place to report it to the police!" Aoba sighed.

Nawanatsu didn't speak, just bit her lip and looked at the mother and daughter's corpses on the ground.

Aoba squatted down, placed his hand on the little girl's terrified, unblinking eyes, and gently closed her eyelids.

Then he closed the mother's eyelids and sighed, "If possible, I will avenge you! So, please rest in peace!"

In fact, Aoba knew that the chance of avenging them was extremely slim, given the millions of people in Tokyo, finding a hidden zombie was like looking for a needle in a haystack.

But Aoba still said it, perhaps more for his own peace of mind.
