After the three of them walked out of the sight of Ishihara Yuma and Shimizu Kyoko, Aoba finally spoke again.
"Ka, what's wrong with you today? So quiet? You seem to have something on your mind," Aoba said, looking at Yamawaki Ka in confusion.
"Something on my mind? No! You're overthinking it, Aoba-kun." Yamawaki Ka showed her usual perfect smile.
"Alright, if I'm overthinking it! So, I'm going to the Battlefront family's house to help her train. Are you coming?" Aoba asked.
Battlefront Yukishiro heard Aoba invite Yamawaki Ka and snorted coldly but didn't say anything.
"No, I have some other things to do today, so I won't go to Battlefront's house to disturb! Aoba-kun, please tell Mai for me that I'll visit her next time," Yamawaki Ka declined.
This time, not only Aoba was puzzled, but even Battlefront Yukishiro looked at Yamawaki Ka in surprise.
"Well, I understand. I got it," Aoba finally nodded and said.
Regarding Yamawaki Ka's personal matters, Aoba felt it wasn't appropriate to ask, so even though he was confused by her behavior today, he didn't say anything.
Soon, a car came to pick up Yamawaki Ka.
"Then, Aoba-kun, Battlefront-san, I'll take my leave! See you tomorrow," Yamawaki Ka said politely.
"Okay, see you tomorrow," Aoba nodded and said.
"Yamawaki-san, see you tomorrow," Battlefront Yukishiro said with equal politeness.
Yamawaki Ka got into the car, waved to the two of them again, and the car drove away.
Although Aoba and Battlefront Yukishiro were surprised, they didn't think much about it.
After all, Yamawaki Ka's family was a large clan, so maybe something was going on at home! With this thought, the two of them headed to the Battlefront family's house, stopping by the supermarket to buy groceries on the way.
Once in the car, Yamawaki Ka's expression turned serious as soon as the car drove far enough that she could no longer see Aoba and Battlefront Yukishiro.
"What's the result?" Yamawaki Ka asked.
"Miss, according to your instructions, we investigated all the people in Tokyo who have the characteristics of being afraid of sunlight, pale skin, dull eyes, and a strong body odor. We have confirmed 381 people who fit these characteristics, and more information is still being compiled! Additionally, the area where the victims were found is being screened as per your instructions. We have found six people with these characteristics in that area, and here are their complete files," a middle-aged man in the passenger seat handed a file to Yamawaki Ka.
"Are these the people?" Yamawaki Ka muttered, flipping through the files in her hand.
Then she looked up again, "Have the gunmen I need been arranged?"
"Yes, Miss. They are all elite veterans from the Self-Defense Forces, many of whom have served in special forces! There are twelve of them, and if Miss needs more, I will immediately gather more people," the middle-aged man said with a loyal expression.
"That's enough. Get ready! We'll act tonight," Yamawaki Ka took a deep breath and said.
"Yes, Miss, your will," the middle-aged man bowed in the passenger seat.
Yamawaki Ka looked out the window, the image of the mother and daughter who had been brutally killed flashed through her mind. She took a deep breath, slowly unclenched her tightly gripped hand, and silently vowed, "Don't worry! I will avenge you! I will not allow such a thing to happen again."
At the supermarket, Aoba and Battlefront Yukishiro were buying ingredients for dinner. Aoba was pushing the shopping cart, standing aside as Yamawaki Ka chose the meat needed for the evening.
Suddenly, he noticed something was wrong with Yamawaki Ka.
Yamawaki Ka was staring intently at the red, patterned meat in the refrigerated section, her breathing gradually becoming heavy, and her hand was tightly gripping the edge of the refrigerated section as if she were about to break it.
Aoba immediately sensed something was wrong. The suppressed bloodlust in Battlefront Yukishiro was about to erupt.
He stepped forward, pulled Yamawaki Ka into his arms, and placed his hand on her abdomen, slowly channeling pure yang energy into Battlefront Yukishiro's body to calm her agitation.
Gradually, Battlefront Yukishiro finally calmed down, and her tightly gripping hand also relaxed.
The housewives passing by, selecting ingredients, whispered to each other, clearly mistaking the two for a young couple. They had no idea that if Aoba hadn't been there to calm Battlefront Yukishiro's bloodlust, what a serious situation it could have become, and at least they would not have escaped unscathed.
"Are you calm now?" Aoba asked gently.
"I should be fine. Thank you, Lord Aoba," Battlefront Yukishiro looked at Aoba gratefully and said.
"How long has it been since you last killed someone?" Aoba frowned and asked.
"Since Lord Aoba gave me the inheritance of the Netherworld Technique, it's been about a month," Battlefront Yukishiro calculated and said.
"About a month, huh!" Aoba nodded thoughtfully.
Then Aoba released his hold on Battlefront Yukishiro, who showed a slightly disappointed expression but quickly composed herself.
"Your current state isn't suitable for handling knives, especially when dealing with meat! How about this, I'll cook dinner today. It'll be a good opportunity to let Mai try my Chinese cuisine," Aoba suggested.
"Wait? How can that be? You're a guest, how can I let you cook!" Battlefront Yukishiro immediately objected.
"Alright, no objections, it's decided," Aoba waved his hand and said.
"Well, okay then," Battlefront Yukishiro, who usually followed Aoba's words, reluctantly agreed despite her reluctance.
Thus, the task of selecting the right ingredients, which was originally Battlefront Yukishiro's, became Aoba's.
They quickly picked out what they needed and headed to the Battlefront family's house.
As soon as they entered, Battlefront Mai, as usual, shouted "Brother" and jumped out.
Aoba caught her, lifted her up, and the two of them played for a while before settling down.
"Brother, is the teacher not coming today?" Battlefront Mai looked behind Aoba and Battlefront Yukishiro, confirming.
"She has some things to do today, so she can't come," Aoba explained.
Battlefront Mai's mood immediately dropped.
"Mai, do you want to eat a meal cooked by your brother?" Aoba asked with a smile.
"A meal cooked by Brother? I want to, I want to," Battlefront Mai immediately perked up.
"Alright, watch me show you my skills today!" Aoba said and headed to the kitchen.
