Extra 2 - Again

“Ben, put these away.”

“Yes, madam.”

“If you want to eat, you can take them.”

Ben nodded at the sacks full of oranges. Looking at the beach with the delivered orange bag inside the bar, Ben heard the laughing sound of excited people. Here, it was always warm and sunny, so it was very different from London.

Ben sat on his chin in the bar inside the small store. Selling fruit juice or beer to people who often come and go to the beach was all Ben did.

Ben’s golden hair shook in a pleasant breeze. Having a languorous time felt like a dream in London. California, where sunlight was intense, wasn’t a good place for vampires to move.

Ben didn’t have the slightest idea how much time has already passed. He left London and went to Paris at first, but Paris was also full of them .

In addition, Jonas’ men were persistent in chasing O’Donoughue brothers as if they were interested in him. Because they tried to reach out to people who had any connection with Ben, Ben didn’t want to have any relationship with anyone.

After moving from Paris to Brussels to Amsterdam to Italy, it was Canada where Ben first arrived outside Europe. It took him time to go to the United States from Canada and it took longer to settle here in California.

Whether Jonas’ men stopped tracking him or gave up, the traces were lost in Canada. He didn’t know when they ‘d show up again, but he was fine now.

As the sea turned orange and the sunset began to set, Ben stood up and cleaned the store. He had no intention of doing business until late at night. Doing as Madame said, Ben grabbed two oranges and began to slowly walk along the beach in the direction of his home.

Soft sand flowed through his toes wearing flip flops. As Ben hurried to get home before sunset, he could see a person dressed in a way that didn’t suit the beach at all on the other side. Ben stopped moving and blinked the moment he saw him .

At the same time, Ben thought that it couldn’t be possible and who would it be if it wasn’t him. As Ben took another step, the person moved slowly and looked back. Ben gulped down his saliva. He couldn’t suppress his pounding heart.

“Really, California? You don’t even know how hard it was to get here.”
