It's no wonder that Su Jing was frightened. Beneath the fallen leaves, there was a pale, paper-like face with a head of jet-black hair. The eyes were wide open, as if the person had died with unresolved grievances. Under the moonlight, it looked particularly eerie.

"Damn, you scared me to death."

Su Jing patted his chest, still trembling with fear, and cold sweat dripped down his body.

In the middle of the night, he had intended to search for treasures in the garbage, but instead, he found a head, which was ten times more terrifying than watching a horror movie.

Su Jing took several deep breaths, trying to calm his heart, and picked up a stick to move the garbage aside. If this had been in the wild, Su Jing would have left it alone, but this was in his backyard, so he had to muster the courage to deal with it. As he moved the garbage, the entire body of a young man gradually came into view. From his long hair and ancient clothing, it was clear that he was not from the modern era.

The young man's body was covered in knife and sword wounds, with one particularly deep gash that had split open his chest, which was likely the fatal wound. It was obvious that the young man had been killed and then either thrown or hidden in the garbage pile. Su Jing quickly searched through the garbage and found two more bodies, all young men who had been killed by knives and swords, and all with unfulfilled grievances.

"Damn, treating corpses as garbage, this is really tormenting people."

Su Jing was extremely frustrated. He had never killed anyone, yet he now had to deal with the aftermath of murder.

He had to handle these three bodies and do so carefully, otherwise, if they were discovered, he would be in deep trouble. He couldn't explain that the bodies were from another time and place, and if he were caught, he would be more wronged than Dou E.

"Right, these people are dressed in fine silk, which suggests they are not ordinary people. Let's see if they have any valuables on them." There's a saying, "If you're going to do something, do it thoroughly." Under normal circumstances, Su Jing wouldn't dare approach the bodies, but since he had to deal with them, he might as well search for treasures. Unfortunately, after thoroughly searching the three bodies, he didn't find a single cent. It seemed that these three people had nothing on them except their clothes.

Su Jing didn't think that people dressed so expensively would carry no money. He believed that the murderer had taken all the valuables, indicating that the killer was a thief as well.

"I can only dispose of these three bodies first."

Su Jing didn't want the bodies to remain in his backyard for a moment longer. He wanted to get rid of them quickly to feel at ease.

However, as a law-abiding citizen, he had no idea how to dispose of bodies. From TV shows and movies, the most common methods seemed to be burying them in a pit or dismembering them.

"Should I throw them into the sea to feed the fish, or dig a pit to bury them?"

After much thought, Su Jing could only think of two feasible methods: throwing them into the sea to feed the fish or digging a pit to bury them. Since they were near the sea, throwing them into the sea to feed the fish would be simple. Throwing some monster meat could even attract sharks to eat the bodies completely. However, Su Jing didn't want to pollute the ocean or risk eating fish that had consumed human flesh, so he decided to bury them.

Su Jing thought of a good place, a mountain a few kilometers from Su Family Village called Pig Head Mountain. The mountain had not been developed much and had many ancestral graves of the Su family. Even in recent years, people had buried coffins there, although cremation was now promoted, the village didn't enforce it strictly.

Su Jing found three burlap bags and began to put the three bodies into them.

When he was putting the second body into the bag, the person's boot fell to the ground with a clear sound.

"Hmm? Strange, isn't this a leather boot? Why does it make such a clear sound?"

Su Jing was puzzled. He picked up the boot and shook it, feeling something move inside. After searching inside the shoe, he removed the insole and found a hidden compartment. He muttered, "This is like an elevated shoe."

Inside the compartment, there was a jade pendant carved with various tiny animals, which looked very lifelike.

The jade was smooth and lustrous, clearly not an ordinary item. Fortunately, it had been hidden in the boot, or it might have been taken away.

"This jade pendant looks so lively. Could it be a legendary magical artifact?"

Su Jing's heart raced, and he started to imagine.

If it were an item from Earth, he wouldn't have thought so much, but this was from another time and place. The three people were dressed like ancient swordsmen and had been killed by knives and swords, suggesting a high-martial world where magical artifacts were not uncommon.

Without caring if his actions were foolish, Su Jing pricked his finger, squeezed out a drop of blood, and dripped it onto the jade pendant.

Under his gaze, the drop of blood was immediately absorbed into the jade pendant, disappearing. At the same time, Su Jing felt as if his mind had merged with the pendant, as if it had become a part of his body.

With a thought, the entire jade pendant floated in the air.

"My God, this is really a magical artifact. I'm rich now."

Su Jing was overjoyed. As his mind fluctuated, the jade pendant fell from the air, and he quickly caught it.

After a while of exploration, Su Jing was disappointed to find that although the jade pendant seemed to recognize him, it had no other functions besides floating slightly. It didn't have any attack, storage, or defensive capabilities.

"I'll explore it later. First, I need to dispose of the bodies."

Su Jing searched the three bodies again, paying special attention to the boots, but found no other valuable items.

He put the three bodies into the burlap bags, went to his uncle's house to get the electric tricycle, and loaded the bodies onto it. He drove to Pig Head Mountain, feeling extremely nervous and afraid of being discovered. Fortunately, it was 4 a.m., and he didn't encounter anyone on the way. After carrying the bodies up the mountain, he found a place to dig a pit and buried the bodies. With his great strength and endurance, he finished digging and burying the pit in just one hour.

After finishing, he quickly left, returned the tricycle to his uncle's house, and went back home.

Su Jing temporarily had no interest in dealing with the remaining pile of garbage. He covered it with black plastic and focused all his attention on the jade pendant, studying it in detail. Although he hadn't discovered any particularly magical functions yet, the ability to float in the air confirmed that it was a magical artifact. He became so engrossed that he forgot to eat breakfast.

It wasn't until around 8:30 a.m. when a truck stopped at the gate, and Zhu Jianhua and Liu Yin arrived with a truck full of cats and dogs, that Su Jing had to stop studying the jade pendant and go out to greet them.

(P.S.: Wishing everyone a happy Mid-Autumn Festival! May you have a harmonious and joyful time!)
