Chapter 50

In a spacious room, the crew of "Divine Dog" was changing the set, while the actors were resting on the sofas nearby.

"Divine Dog" had already started filming, and the supporting role of the cat had already been cast. However, Xiaoli's sudden internet fame caught the director's attention, and he decided to give it a try. After all, the cat's scenes hadn't started filming yet, so there was still time to make changes.

"Biting, you didn't eat breakfast, have some porridge?" A middle-aged woman with short hair said as she ladled out the porridge.

"Thank you!" A stunningly beautiful woman with long, flowing hair took the bowl and smiled sweetly.

"Qin Xulan, it's all your fault. If you could have bought the porridge cooked by the young culinary genius from Qingyun Town yesterday, Biting could have eaten more," the middle-aged woman with short hair turned to a young man with dyed yellow hair and said.

"How can you blame me? When I went to Zhenhong Seafood Shop, the young culinary genius was already gone. I waited for one or two hours until the shop closed in the evening, but I never saw him. What could I do?" Qin Xulan pouted.

"Why didn't you go find the young culinary genius?" the male lead Jin Shijia asked.

"Exactly, aren't you good at finding people?" the other actors complained.

"Don't be hard on Xiaofeng. It's not easy for him to make such a long trip. I just have a minor cold, no need to make a big fuss," Guo Biting laughed. In real life, she was less serene and more lively than on screen.

"Still, Sister Biting is so understanding." Qin Xulan smiled at Guo Biting and then turned to look at the others with a cold smile, "Don't talk so nicely. You say Sister Biting has a cold and needs to eat good food, but I think you're just greedy. Why else would you buy so many servings? Sister Biting can't eat that much."

"Not really, we just bought them along with hers."

"Exactly, we mainly bought them for Biting."

The few who had been criticizing the young man with yellow hair argued, but their voices were clearly softer, perhaps out of guilt.

Guo Biting finally saw through these people and couldn't help but feel both amused and annoyed. She had been touched just a moment ago, but now she realized they were just greedy. No wonder they had talked about the young culinary genius who had impressed the notorious food critic in Zhongyun City for so long yesterday.

"I've sent someone to buy it. Let's see if we can get it today. You'd better be nice to me, or I won't share it with you even if I get it," Qin Xulan's words made everyone's eyes light up, but he suddenly changed the subject, "By the way, I forgot to tell you, I saw a group of divine dogs on my way back yesterday."

"Divine dogs? A whole group?" Everyone scoffed. They were filming "Divine Dog" and knew that even the dog playing the protagonist wasn't as impressive in real life as on screen. Truly divine dogs were rare, and seeing one was already a stroke of luck, let alone a whole group. They all thought Qin Xulan was just boasting. This guy couldn't go a day without lying.

"Really, I was passing by when I saw about ten dogs chasing a man with a knife. Each one was fierce and agile, with sharp eyes. They surrounded the man with the knife like a pack of hunting wolves. Then, a young man ran over, as fast as Liu Xiang, leaped over a barrier, and kicked the man with the knife five meters away. He then leaped over again and stomped on the man, making him spit blood and pass out. Even more impressive, the young man just said, 'A-er, A-san, go get the police,' and two dogs leaped over the barrier and brought back a group of police officers. They could understand human language, definitely a group of divine dogs, and the young man was a divine person too," Qin Xulan got more and more excited as he spoke.

"Wow, impressive." Everyone, however, found it less and less credible and had already decided that Qin Xulan was lying, so they responded half-heartedly.

"Why don't you believe me? I often lie, but this time I'm telling the truth," Qin Xulan was getting anxious.

"Where's the proof?" Everyone gave Qin Xulan a look of disdain.

"I... I was so stunned that I forgot to take a video or a photo. I also regret not going over to get closer. It's just the police, I didn't do anything wrong, so why should I be afraid?" He was afraid of the police mainly because he had been caught too many times, mostly for speeding and fighting. He hadn't suffered much in the police station, but he always got a beating from his father, which left him with some psychological trauma.

"Director said the calico cat is coming for an audition today. If the online video wasn't edited, it could be a divine cat."

"I doubt it's a calico cat. It looks more like a little leopard."

...

"Ah Jing, why are you so slow?" Su Jing arrived at the Perfect Pet Paradise by subway, and Zhu Jianhua was already waiting at the entrance with the calico cat in a cage. Seeing Su Jing, he couldn't help but complain.

"The traffic was bad, but isn't the audition at eleven? It's only nine thirty, we have plenty of time. What's the rush?" Su Jing said. The audition venue was very close to Perfect Pet Paradise, and an hour and a half was more than enough.

"Please, this is an audition, we should arrive early. If we're late, we might miss a great opportunity. Don't take the subway, I'll drive you," Zhu Jianhua handed the cage to Su Jing and opened the door of a minivan. The van had "Perfect Pet Paradise" written on the side and was covered with pictures of animals, clearly a company vehicle.

"You're too nervous." Su Jing smiled, but it was better to have a ride. He took the calico cat into the car.

After Zhu Jianhua started driving, Su Jing let Xiaoli out of the cage. Xiaoli clearly recognized Su Jing and immediately purred and jumped into his arms, making Zhu Jianhua envious. He had taken care of Xiaoli for many days, but Xiaoli had always ignored him, treating Su Jing much differently.

"This guy is ungrateful, forgetting who took care of him these past few days," Zhu Jianhua said, a bit jealous.

"He was raised by me. You drive, I'll bond with Xiaoli," Su Jing said.

"I told you to bond with it yesterday. Is it too late to do it now?" Zhu Jianhua thought Su Jing was underestimating the audition and the competition.

"Don't worry." Su Jing used his body to block Zhu Jianhua's view, gave Xiaoli an injection, and dripped a drop of blood on the Beast Token, then started communicating and training with Xiaoli.

Zhu Jianhua, while driving, listened to Su Jing talking to Xiaoli and didn't pay much attention. As a pet paradise employee, he knew that although animals couldn't understand human words, they could understand the tone. For example, a gentle voice would encourage them, and a loud voice would make them realize they did something wrong. So, talking while teaching was actually helpful.

Of course, Zhu Jianhua never imagined that Su Jing was really talking to Xiaoli.
