Chapter 2

More than twenty years ago, the father of the two brothers, Noah Part, saved Jon, who was lying on the verge of death outside the manor. After Jon recovered from his injuries, Noah, learning that he was homeless, took pity on him and provided him with a generous job as a fruit farmer.

Why Jon was injured and lying outside the manor, and his background, remained a mystery; he never spoke about it to anyone. He always claimed he came from another planet, but he never explained where this 'planet' was located.

Jon was a charismatic person with skills in planting and construction. When they were young, the two brothers often came to Jon to listen to his magical stories. The world in his stories had towering buildings, flying metal machines, and even gardens on the moon.

Young Leon listened with great joy, yearning for the world in Jon's stories, thinking that once he grew up, he could visit the lands in Jon's stories. However, as time passed and Leon matured, he realized that everything Jon said was just a fabrication. The feeling of his childhood dreams shattering was hard for Leon to accept, and since then, he always faced Jon with disdain and anger.

Leon was very angry that Anger so readily believed Jon, even regarding him as a mentor. No matter how much Leon tried to dissuade him, Anger would just smile, neither refusing nor contradicting.

Anger's attitude towards people and matters was very similar to Jon's. He appeared calm and gentle but was impervious to persuasion.

...

Leon picked up the parchment on Anger's desk, and his eyes instantly turned into a swirl as he saw the densely written text.

"Instead of using the common script, he insists on using the old man's script. What's the point of writing if it's not for others to read? Unless... it's some secret he can't reveal." Leon was muttering, but then he seemed to remember something and evilly curled the corner of his mouth, looking at Anger: "Dear brother, aren't you going to explain? You wouldn't be recording... teenage troubles, would you?~ Why don't you tell me, I can help you solve them, you know."

Anger sighed helplessly and pointed to a corner of the paper: "This is Chinese, taught by my mentor, the common script of his hometown. The content recorded is the meaning of several physical constants calculated by my mentor."

Anger then pointed to a few symbols resembling tadpoles: "These are Arabic numerals, similar to our Golden Finch Empire's units of measurement, but this recording method is more straightforward and intuitive. These numbers correspond to the physical constants above and can be used to record many things."

Anger's long speech was completely incomprehensible to Leon. However, he didn't care, thinking it was just another trick from the old man Jon, and that his innocent and simple brother had been brainwashed even more.

Leon's initial sympathy and concern for Jon's health were now completely gone.

Waving his hand, Leon stopped Anger's endless talk and took out a beautifully wrapped envelope from inside his armor.

"Alright, alright, I don't understand and don't want to hear it. Here, take it. This is the mayor's invitation. This time, I'm inheriting Father's title and need the mayor and Duke Merlin to witness it. We'll set out in half a month. Haven't you always wanted to hear Master Majev's solo concert? Once we get to Watford, after we finish the formalities, I'll take you to the Ocean Theater, and you can listen to your heart's content!"

Anger took the invitation, his expression slightly brightening. He had long heard of the famous musician in Watford, who was renowned for both his compositions and performances. He had never had the chance to meet him, and now, with his brother inheriting the title, he would finally have the opportunity to listen to his music, which made him very happy!

Seeing Anger's effort to contain his excitement and maintain a calm demeanor, Leon couldn't resist reaching out to mess up Anger's golden hair.

As expected, his action provoked a glare from Anger.

"I've already said, no touching my hair! It's a man's dignity, and I won't back down!"

Ha ha ha, Leon was stunned for a moment before suddenly throwing his head back in laughter, taking a long time to stop: "You're just fourteen, not yet a man, just a boy who hasn't fully grown."

The two brothers engaged in a bit of roughhousing. Anger, still in his developmental stage, naturally couldn't match the already robust and strong Leon. Anger could only glare at Leon in frustration and then bury himself in the homework assigned by his mentor Jon.

For his younger brother, who was sulking, Leon had no choice but to touch his nose and leave.

About half an hour after Leon left, Anger finally emerged from the sea of numbers.

Looking at the empty room, Anger knew Leon had been gone for a long time. Checking the time, it was about lunchtime. He opened the door and, as expected, saw two lunch boxes on the stone table in the yard, with the head maid Mana taking out the dishes from the boxes one by one.

Seeing the vegetable soup with bread and fruit again, Anger felt a bit gloomy.

He missed the meals his mentor made. Even a simple fried rice seemed to have a magical power, making him eat with great enjoyment.

Since his mentor's health had been declining, Anger had never tasted such delicious meals again.

The last time, Anger asked his mentor to teach the cook, but the final result was terrible.

Sigh... With his mentor's limbs nearly atrophied, it was likely that he would never taste his mentor's cooking again.

Mana took the soup upstairs to feed the sick Jon, while Anger was lost in his sad thoughts.

After lunch, Anger entered the house and saw Mana coming down from the second floor.

"Aunt Mana, is the mentor awake?"

"Second Young Master, Mr. Jon is already awake." Mana shook the clean porcelain plate in her basket: "Mr. Jon had a good appetite today and finished all the soup."

"That's good, I'll go see the mentor."

Seeing Anger run upstairs with enthusiasm, Mana smiled affectionately. The Part Manor was now run by the two young masters. Outwardly, the elder brother was cold and proud, while the younger brother was gentle and calm. Few knew that these two young masters were still children at heart, no matter how strong they appeared on the outside, they still had a soft side. Only in front of their close servants did they let down their guard and show the liveliness of their age.

"Mentor!"

As soon as Anger pushed open the door to the attic, he saw an old man half-lying on a balcony lounge chair, with a mute servant standing respectfully behind him.

The old man's face was sallow, his skin shriveled, and his appearance was distinctly different from the locals, with a strong foreign aura. His eyes were somewhat cloudy, but one could still see the black pupils.

He was the most respected elder and life mentor of Anger since his father's death, Jon.
