The Jade Emperor sighed and said, "In the past, the Peach Feast was always a joyous occasion. I never expected that a monkey demon would cause chaos this time, disrupting the Peach Feast and troubling all of you to make a wasted trip."

Guanyin Bodhisattva asked again, "What is the origin of this monkey demon?"

"The monkey demon is a stone egg that hatched in the Flower-Fruit Mountain of the Eastern Continent. When it was born, it emitted golden light that shot to the heavens. At first, I did not take it seriously, but it later became a demon, subduing dragons and taming tigers, and removed its name from the Book of Death. The Dragon King and the King of Hell reported to me. I wanted to capture it, but the Morning Star advised me, 'In the Three Realms, any creature with nine orifices can become an immortal.' I then educated and nurtured it, inviting it to the heavens and appointing it as the Stable Master. However, it was dissatisfied with the low rank and rebelled against the heavenly palace. I then sent Li Jing and Prince Nezha to subdue it, and later issued an edict to pacify it, inviting it to the heavens and granting it the title of 'Great Sage Equal to Heaven,' but with no salary. Because it had nothing to do, it wandered around. I was afraid it would cause more trouble, so I had it manage the Peach Garden. However, it did not follow the rules and stole all the large peaches from the old trees. When the feast was set, it was not invited because it had no salary, so it tricked the Barefoot Immortal and transformed into his appearance to attend the feast, stealing all the immortal dishes and wine, and even stealing Laozi's immortal pills and a large amount of imperial wine, which it shared with the monkeys on the mountain. This is why I am troubled, and I have mobilized ten thousand heavenly soldiers and a heavenly net to subdue it. I have not yet received a report, and I do not know the outcome." The Jade Emperor answered.

Just then, the heavenly general sent by Li Jing to request reinforcements arrived at the Lingxiao Hall and reported the defeat in the lower world, describing how Yang Zhen's Three Pure Fires were so powerful that they burned tens of thousands of heavenly soldiers and generals.

The Jade Emperor was greatly shocked. He never expected that ten thousand heavenly soldiers and generals could not take a small Flower-Fruit Mountain, and that an unknown cat demon could have such power. If the demon kings in the lower world were all this powerful, what credibility would the heavenly court have?

Guanyin Bodhisattva looked at the Jade Emperor and said, "Your Majesty, do not worry. I can recommend a deity to capture this monkey."

The Jade Emperor was delighted and asked, "Which deity does the Bodhisattva recommend?"

"It is the Second Holy Deity Yang Jian, who resides at the mouth of the Gan River in Gan Prefecture, enjoying the offerings of the people below. He has experienced the great calamity of the Sealing of the Gods, subduing six demons, and has the support of the Mei Mountain brothers and twelve hundred grasshead deities. Although he only follows orders and does not accept summonses, Your Majesty can issue an edict to mobilize him to subdue the monkey demon, and it will surely succeed." Guanyin Bodhisattva said.

The Jade Emperor then issued the edict to mobilize the troops.

Guanyin Bodhisattva then said, "As for the cat demon, I will take care of it. I have a magical treasure that can counter the Three Pure Fires."

The Jade Emperor was delighted and said, "That is perfect!"
