Chapter 8

Leaving Yuecheng Mechanized High School, Yunfan hailed a magnetic levitation taxi and headed for the Yuecheng Municipal Center.

The Mechanized High School and the Municipal Center were both located in the central area of Yuecheng. The magnetic levitation taxi was very fast, and it took only about ten minutes to arrive.

Municipal Center.

Today was a holiday, so there weren't many people at the Municipal Center. Only one window was open, and it was Yunfan's turn very quickly.

Municipal Center staff: "What can I do for you?"

Yunfan: "I want to obtain the title of 'Yuecheng Outstanding Youth'!"

Municipal Center staff: "Outstanding Youth? You must be under eighteen years old and have reached the Transformation Realm or higher to be eligible for the competition. Have you met the criteria?"

Yunfan nodded.

The Municipal Center staff looked at Yunfan with surprise: "Which noble family are you from? To have such talent, why didn't you attend the Mechanized High School?"

Yunfan: "I'm not from any noble family. I was originally a student at the Mechanized High School, but I've been expelled!"

The Municipal Center staff's expression turned cold. Not from a noble family and expelled from the Mechanized High School, he must be quite poor.

Municipal Center staff: "Expelled? What did you do?"

Yunfan: "I turned off my communicator, left the city without permission, and trained outside the city for a month!"

The Municipal Center staff was surprised and his opinion of Yunfan changed instantly: "At your young age, you dared to train outside the city?"

Yunfan smiled slightly.

Municipal Center staff: "The title of Outstanding Youth isn't just given for high cultivation. You also need a certain level of skill in operating a mech. You need to defeat an A-class mech controlled by a Transformation Realm ancient martial artist to pass."

Yunfan, full of confidence: "No problem."

Soon, a staff member led Yunfan to the mech combat room and asked: "What model of mech do you need?"

Yunfan, without hesitation: "X-101."

The X-101 is a versatile mech with balanced abilities. Whether in speed or strength, it has a certain burst potential, making it most suitable for technical operation.

Yunfan had used the 'X-101' model mech for three years at the Mechanized High School, and it was no different now.

A wristband for the X-101 mech was quickly delivered to Yunfan.

Tap tap tap...

His opponent arrived, also in an X-101 mech.

The X-101's visor opened, revealing a man in his thirties. He looked at Yunfan and chuckled: "Kid, the title of Outstanding Youth isn't that easy to obtain. In the entire Yuecheng, it's hard to award even one or two a year.

I heard you were expelled from the Mechanized High School? You students at the Mechanized High School are all so full of yourselves, thinking you're great geniuses, superior to others. Hmph—actually, you don't have much combat ability!

Come on, I have the same model of mech as you, the X-101. Let me show you how a real mech warrior can use the same model of mech to crush you like a withered tree."

As he spoke, the man controlled the X-101 to clench its fists and collide them in front of his chest: "Remember my name, the one who defeats you is 'Hao Jingming'!"

Yunfan smiled calmly: "You'll be disappointed. Remember my name—Yunfan!"

Yunfan put the mech wristband on his wrist and pressed the button in the center.

Click click—

Metal pieces appeared, and in a breath's time, Yunfan's entire body was enveloped in metal blocks, and the X-101 was fully assembled.

"You're quite arrogant, kid, but don't just be tough with words. Here comes my punch!"

Hao Jingming closed his visor and immediately charged at Yunfan, delivering a powerful punch.

A sharp whistling sound echoed through the air. The punch was astonishingly powerful and fast, with a faint ripple visible at the point of impact.

In terms of strength and speed, it was even better than when Yunfan controlled the X-101 at the peak of the Hidden Strength Realm.

However, the current Yunfan was not at the peak of the Hidden Strength Realm but at the Qi Condensation Realm, equivalent to the Earth's ancient martial arts 'Gang Realm.' His reaction, strength, and speed were several levels higher than at the peak of the Hidden Strength Realm.

Whistle—

Another sharp whistling sound echoed through the air. Yunfan controlled the X-101 and delivered a punch, like a needle against a grain of wheat, heading straight for the iron fist coming at him.

Bang—

The two iron fists collided, producing a loud explosion!

Yunfan's X-101 didn't retreat a single step, while Hao Jingming's X-101's iron fist instantly rebounded, and his body retreated backward, a cry of surprise coming from inside the mech.

Yunfan's X-101 could exert such terrifying power, which was clearly unexpected by Hao Jingming.

Tap tap—

Yunfan's X-101 charged forward, moving as fast as the wind. In the blink of an eye, an iron fist was already in front of his opponent.

The two were not on the same level. Yunfan didn't need any combat techniques; just with absolute strength, he could crush the opponent!

Hao Jingming's X-101 couldn't dodge in time and quickly crossed his arms to defend.

The iron fist hit the crossed iron arms, producing a loud clang. The hard iron arms were dented by a centimeter, and Hao Jingming's X-101 was pushed back, flying a dozen feet before landing.

Yunfan didn't continue the attack; those two punches were enough to determine the winner.

Hao Jingming's X-101 fell to the ground, rolling twice before stopping. Hao Jingming retracted the X-101, turning it into a wristband on his left wrist.

Yunfan also retracted the X-101 and said: "How about that? Not just tough with words, right?"

Hao Jingming looked at Yunfan, no longer daring to underestimate him, and said: "Your strength is so great. I actually dared to underestimate you before. I really can't see clearly."

As he spoke, Hao Jingming bowed to Yunfan, a gesture of respect among ancient martial artists.

Yunfan's control of the X-101 was incredibly powerful, and he had defeated Hao Jingming in one exchange.

Soon, the Municipal Center staff awarded Yunfan the 'Yuecheng Outstanding Youth' medal!

With this medal, Yunfan had obtained the title of 'Yuecheng Outstanding Youth' and gained the eligibility to register for the High School Mech League.

Moreover, the benefits of the 'Outstanding Youth' title didn't stop there!

Mechs are made of special metals, which are extremely rare on Earth, mainly coming from other planets in space. Therefore, the number of mechs is insufficient to meet demand, and there is no mech trading on the market.

Only those with a certain status have the right to purchase mechs from the federal government.

With the title of 'Outstanding Youth,' one can purchase up to a C-class mech!

Of course, Yunfan currently didn't have the financial means to buy a mech, even the cheapest and lowest-level A-class mech was beyond his reach!

To own his own mech, Yunfan still needed to defeat all opponents in the High School Mech League and win first place!

That was the best way for Yunfan to obtain a personal mech and the only way to save his sister, Yunxuan!

Yunfan registered for the High School Mech League at the Municipal Center. When he obtained the title of 'Outstanding Youth,' he had already defeated the A-class mech controlled by the Transformation Realm ancient martial artist 'Hao Jingming,' directly passing the preliminary selection of the High School Mech League.

Only on May 15th, when the High School Mech League officially begins, will there be a final selection process in Yuecheng. Ultimately, Yuecheng will have only five spots to compete with talented youths from other cities in the final showdown.

"Cui Yushi, we will definitely meet in the preliminary selection in Yuecheng. I will repay the humiliation of the past!"

A figure flashed in Yunfan's mind, and he was filled with anticipation for the mech league in half a month!

With half a month left, Yunfan planned to go home first. Leaving the Municipal Center, he hailed a magnetic levitation taxi and headed home.
