Chapter 10

As the helicopter was about to land, a still-rotating blade swept across Liu Gan, who was hanging from the remaining iron frame of the billboard. At the critical moment, Liu Gan tried to pull in his waist and swung his legs up to hook onto the remaining iron frame of the billboard. The helicopter blade, with its immense force, grazed Liu Gan's back and then, along with the helicopter's body, rolled down to the ground below the billboard, crushing dozens of zombies and rolling forward for several dozen meters.

A fire broke out inside the helicopter, but it did not explode immediately. The fearless zombies immediately trampled over the mangled bodies of their fallen comrades and crawled into the helicopter, searching for fresh flesh inside.

Liu Gan, still in shock, climbed back onto the remaining iron frame of the billboard, his whole body trembling. Just a moment ago, he was full of hope, thinking he was finally saved and could leave the billboard. But the next moment, this trembling world dealt him a heavy blow. Not only was he not saved, but the helicopter that was supposed to rescue him was struck by lightning and crashed from the sky.

Is the sky really so blind? So many lightning bolts did not hit the billboard, all attracted by the tall buildings. But just as the thunderstorm weakened, a bolt of lightning appeared out of nowhere and struck the helicopter that was about to rescue him?

Now, not only was he not saved, but the people in the helicopter were likely in grave danger. Even if they did not die from the fall, they were probably already the fresh meat in the mouths of the zombies.

"Save... me..."

Liu Gan, who was staring in shock and fear at the helicopter on the ground, which was crawling with zombies, suddenly heard a weak cry for help from the other side of the billboard. He quickly looked in the direction of the sound and saw a female staff member of the Three Realms company hanging from the iron frame with both hands.

Liu Gan recognized her; she was the one who had thrown the rope ladder from the helicopter to him. She was covered in blood, likely from the helicopter's impact with the billboard, either being thrown out or jumping out and hanging from the remaining iron frame of the billboard.

Liu Gan carefully climbed over the remaining iron frame of the billboard, ensuring that the iron frame under his feet would not break. Once he was stable, he reached out and pulled the female staff member up onto the iron frame.

After pulling the female staff member up, Liu Gan noticed a sharp piece of metal, either from the helicopter or the billboard, had pierced through her waist, which was the main reason for her heavy bleeding.

The woman, after being pulled up and seated on the remaining iron frame of the billboard, looked very painful but was still relatively coherent.

"Are you the game's GM?" Liu Gan asked the woman.

The woman glanced at Liu Gan, clearly not understanding his question.

"The game 'Trembling World' has a problem, and the players are trapped here, unable to exit the game. Were you sent by the game company to fix the problem?" Liu Gan asked again.

"I don't know what you're talking about..." The woman looked at Liu Gan, confused.

"Three Realms company, they make games. The 'Trembling World' on this billboard is a game made by Three Realms. I am a player, and I am now trapped in the game and cannot exit..." Liu Gan showed her his wristwatch and asked a few more questions.

The woman looked at Liu Gan as if he were a mental patient and did not say anything for a long time.

"I'm asking you a question! What's going on with this game? You're so badly injured, you don't need to hide anything for your company. Hundreds of thousands of players are trapped in the game, and Three Realms can't hide it forever." Liu Gan pressed her with more questions.

"I don't know what you're talking about. The simulation game might be a project from another department. I work in the bio-lab. Before the blood rain, we were on a long-distance voyage. When we returned, the world had already changed like this." The woman finally responded to Liu Gan.

Now it was Liu Gan's turn to be confused.

"You're not a player, not a game company employee, and not just teleported here. You've been living here, in this world, right?" Liu Gan tried to ask again.

"Of course, I've always lived here. We came by helicopter to look for some usable equipment in that building. The rain stopped, and we were about to fly back when I saw someone on the billboard, so we came back..." The woman looked at Liu Gan strangely, sensing that something was off in their conversation.

"Are you an NPC in the game?" Liu Gan seemed to understand something.

"What?" The woman frowned, her face starting to turn pale as her wound continued to bleed.

"Never mind." Liu Gan shook his head, not knowing what to say.

"Why haven't you been infected? How did you survive?" The woman asked Liu Gan, taking the initiative.

"I'm a player. I was teleported here an hour ago and haven't been bitten by zombies, so how could I be infected?" Liu Gan replied.

"Your mind seems to be a bit off... but it's not surprising, given what's happened..." The woman seemed to understand something and made some assumptions.

"My mind is fine; it's the game that has a problem." Liu Gan replied, but he could understand why the woman thought that way. As an NPC in the game world, she couldn't imagine a player like him being teleported from another world to play the game.

"If you haven't been infected, it's likely that your body has a natural immunity to the virus. You might be the key to ending this disaster..." The woman looked at Liu Gan and muttered.

"You were about to land to take me to your lab as a lab rat, right?" Liu Gan looked at the woman, feeling somewhat annoyed. His earlier suspicions were confirmed.

"We just want to save the world..." The woman's eyes showed a look of sorrow. Her family, friends, and former colleagues had all turned into zombies. She had escaped this fate by being on a long-distance mission, but when she returned, everything she knew had changed.

"When you said you were on a voyage, does that mean this place is not far from the coast, and there's a fleet nearby? If something happened to you here, they should send another helicopter to search for and rescue you, right?" Liu Gan remembered something and asked a few more questions.
