### Chapter 73: Opening Ceremony
* * *
“Grrr.”
I must have dozed off, as my pillow is damp.
It wasn’t that I suddenly felt sentimental in the middle of the night and cried, wetting the pillow; it was just saliva.
“Huh.”
Wiping my mouth with my sleeve, I woke up from the damp sensation. Instinctively, I started rummaging under my pillow.
Even though I don’t usually keep anything under my pillow, my smartphone is always here when I can’t find it.
[PM: 3:11]
A time when the sun could be high in the sky or setting in a few hours.
It was quite late to stretch, but for a jobless person like me, it didn’t matter.
I roughly tidied up the bed and took a quick morning shower with warm water to wake myself up.
For breakfast, or rather, lunch and dinner, I chose a simple bowl of cereal and milk.
Like most people, I don’t particularly enjoy greasy food in the morning.
Another ordinary day.
However, what made today special was the opening ceremony of the League of Legends Championship.
‘Hmm, should I watch it or not?’
Before I knew it, the time was already 4:30 PM.
The opening ceremony was about to start.
‘What to do.’
...Even as I pondered, I instinctively turned on the game.
It was almost a reflex.
[PM: 3:11]
As soon as I opened the official channel, a busy advertisement welcomed me.
Sure, I should watch the ads diligently so that the game company, pros, advertisers, and everyone can live happily.
Putting aside such thoughts, what caught my eye was the match schedule in the upper right corner.

[ SY vs SCV ]
[ 21:42 ]
SY and SCV.
These teams could be seen as fated rivals, but in reality, SCV has never once surpassed SY’s dominance.
To be more precise, even if SY had a poor performance, SCV never managed to become the top team.
For instance, during last year’s Spring Season when SY had a terrible performance and finished in 6th place, SCV still failed to win the championship.
The eternal second place.
In layman’s terms, SCV was known as the "bean line" team.
Of course, like other teams and players historically known as "bean lines" in esports, SCV boasts tremendous popularity, even if it can’t compare to SY.
With SCV and SY facing off on the first day, it was no wonder there was so much interest.
‘What, 50,000 viewers?’
Even before the match officially started, there were that many viewers.
And that was just on one channel. If you add up the viewers from other platforms, it would easily exceed several hundred thousand.
‘Definitely a big match, it seems.’
As if to prove the excitement, the chat window was also buzzing.
