The blue-haired woman's fierce gaze slowly turned, and she added:
"You are about to enter the extremely mysterious realm of the Dead Spirit Zombies. This realm is vast and boundless, and you will be randomly teleported to the edge of the Zombie Realm."
The green-robed old monster, who had been sitting with his eyes closed in the hall, suddenly opened his eyes and took over the conversation in a calm tone:
"The edge of the Zombie Realm is mainly the territory of the Red Soul Corpses, which have been nurtured by a century of deathly aura. The way to identify them is by the burning red soul fire in their eye sockets. The deeper the color, the stronger their combat power. These Red Soul Corpses are your targets, and the spirit talisman you have just comprehended is the key to controlling and communicating with them."
After the green-robed old monster finished speaking, he raised his eyebrows and fell silent.
Seeing that he had finished, the blue-haired female examiner continued in a cold tone:
"The highest intelligent beings have three souls and seven spirits forming a complete soul. So-called zombies are vicious creatures that lack or do not have these three souls and seven spirits. They are not all human bodies that undergo abnormal changes after death, as you might imagine. That is just one type among thousands of zombies. In the Zombie Realm, there are countless types of zombies, including fierce beasts, humans, and even plants, which can transform into zombies after death. Due to their lack of souls, these zombies are extremely violent and have a great attraction to beings with complete souls. Whether you can return alive is also a part of our assessment, which includes an element of luck."
The blue-haired examiner paused slightly, allowing the young people to digest the information, and then continued:
"The realms of zombies, from low to high, are represented by seven colors of soul fire: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Higher realms are too distant for you to know about for now. The method to communicate with zombies will be provided to you before you enter, with detailed instructions on all related matters. Now, according to your talisman assessment results, come forward to receive your items and prepare to enter the Zombie Realm."
When Zhu Jiu heard that the order of entry would be determined by the talisman assessment results, his expression changed. He parted the crowd in front of him and quickly approached the front, where the young people looked at him with a mix of surprise and jealousy. He bowed to the green-robed old monster and the other examiners and said:
"Disciple Zhu Jiu is here to receive the items needed to enter the Zombie Realm."
The blue-haired woman, expressionless, extended her hand and handed him a black box. Zhu Jiu took it and, following the examiner's indication, turned and stood a few feet in front of the green-robed old monster.
The green-robed old man lifted his eyelids and gave Zhu Jiu a cold, expressionless glance. The two ghostly figures standing behind him, who had been bowing their heads, floated forward together.
Zhu Jiu was slightly startled when he saw the ghostly figures suddenly approach, but he forced himself to remain still.
The green-robed old man seemed somewhat satisfied with Zhu Jiu's composure. The corners of his mouth twitched slightly, revealing a faint, almost imperceptible smile.
The strange old man slowly extended his hands, pulling them apart, and a blue light-filled magic sphere immediately appeared between his hands with a startling effect.
A blue light with a hint of purple leaped out from the sphere. At first glance, it looked like a blue stream of water, but upon closer inspection, it was a silent, burning flame, a long, fierce blue flame.
The blue flame, with a hint of light purple, was mysterious and beautiful. Despite its fierce burning, Zhu Jiu, standing next to it, did not feel any heat.
The many examiners watching were all envious when they saw this strange object. The middle-aged man who was the most adept at flattery was the first to exclaim in admiration:
"Long River Blue Flame, blue with a hint of purple, is this a seventh-rank Flame Zombie Mummy? And it's an intangible form! The Elder actually has such a divine creature!"
The green-robed old man snorted coldly and said with a hint of pride:
"You have some discernment. This Blue Flame Zombie has been with me for over a thousand years, devouring countless souls and corpses. Unfortunately, it still lacks the necessary power to be considered a Mummy. It is currently at the level of an Impermanent King."
The old man, standing a few feet away from the blue-flamed zombie, exerted force to pull the ground.
The dark green ground seemed to have an invisible mountain, extremely heavy. The old man and the flame struggled for a while before the ground slowly began to change, a section about a few feet in size slowly opening like a door. Dense black death aura swirled and surged within, gradually becoming darker and deeper.
Zhu Jiu stood next to this increasingly dark and deep portal, feeling a bone-chilling cold surge up from his feet, causing him to shiver.
Listening closely, he could hear faint, heart-shaking screams coming from the dark portal, and a chilling ghostly aura spread out.
Zhu Jiu looked curiously at the black, fog-like portal, sensing that it seemed to connect to a world of ghosts and monsters, where something strange was rapidly approaching the portal.
Suddenly, the dark, deep portal bulged upward, and a distorted, unknown face could be clearly seen behind it, struggling to break free from the fog.
The surrounding young people were startled by this sudden and terrifying change and stepped back in unison.
More and more fierce ghosts and strange spirits began to emerge from the fog, madly colliding with the portal connecting the two worlds.
The green-robed old man, standing with his hands behind his back next to the portal, snorted coldly. The two ghostly figures, which had been floating a few feet above the ground, immediately emitted a bright green light from their eyes, opened their mouths wide, and began to suck in the portal.
Instantly, the portal was filled with the screams of the strange spirits, and black smoke was continuously sucked out, flooding into the mouths of the two ghosts like a tidal wave.
After a few minutes, no more strange phenomena emerged from the portal, and it became smooth and calm, like a piece of black jade.
The two ghosts stopped their sucking, appearing lazy, but the green soul fire in their eyes became brighter and deeper.
Clearly, the consumption of souls had greatly benefited them.
Zhu Jiu stood to the side, silently observing everything, his eyes filled with wonder, but he remained silent.
The blue-haired female examiner, standing next to the strange portal, saw that the ground had returned to calm and said coldly and mercilessly:
"This is the portal to the Zombie Realm. Zhu Jiu, you will be the first to enter."
Zhu Jiu walked out silently, boldly stepping towards the portal on the ground.
Behind the portal, it seemed like an endless abyss. As Zhu Jiu stepped in, a soul-eroding coldness enveloped him, and his body plummeted as if swallowed by a giant mouth in the ground.
One by one, the other young people timidly followed, most of them pale and terrified.
The green-robed old man, growing impatient, waved his hand, and the remaining young people began to fall into the portal in groups, their screams continuous.
In a short time, only a few examiners were left in the hall. The old man snorted and said:
"You should also go in and wait! Do you want me to do it for you, heh heh!"
The dozen or so examiners bowed together and one by one flashed into the dark portal connecting the Dead Spirit Zombie Realm.
The hall was left with only the green-robed old man, a blue flame, and two ghostly figures.
The old man waved his hand, and the portal slowly closed, the deep blackness gradually being swallowed by the void, revealing the original dark green ground. He sat in his chair, flicked his fingers, and the hundreds of unconscious young people who had been eliminated disappeared. He then closed his eyes and waited silently.
