Chapter 66

After Lin Yiming and Sun Pingyang killed Bai Tong and his gang, they didn’t even bother to bury the bodies, rushing back to Maple Bridge Town directly.

Although he was eager to kill Liu Yuliang, Lin Yiming still returned to the Appraisal Alliance with Sun Pingyang, allowing Sun Pingyang to report back. Besides, even if he wanted to kill Liu Yuliang, he couldn’t do it openly. He would have to wait until night and sneak into the Liu residence.

Today, the Appraisal Alliance seemed unusually quiet.

As Lin Yiming and his two companions just reached the entrance of the Appraisal Alliance, they immediately saw the old chairman, Qin Lao, standing at the door, clearly anxious and looking around.

"Yiming, you’re back? That’s great, it’s good to see you all safe." When Qin Lao saw Lin Yiming and his companions return safely, his anxious expression instantly turned to joy.

Lin Yiming immediately understood that Qin Lao had been waiting for them outside. They themselves didn’t know when they would return, let alone Qin Lao.

This meant that Qin Lao had probably been waiting at the entrance for several days. Qin Lao was the chairman of the Appraisal Alliance, yet he had been waiting for them at the entrance.

Lin Yiming felt deeply moved by Qin Lao’s actions, and the anger he had been harboring towards Liu Yuliang dissipated somewhat.

As they walked into the Appraisal Alliance with Qin Lao, after just three steps, Qin Lao’s voice rang out again: "Yiming, ever since you left, I’ve been very regretful for agreeing to let you go. I understand your desire to earn money, but it was too dangerous. In the future, don’t take on such dangerous appraisals."

"Rest assured, Qin Lao, I won’t take on such dangerous appraisals again!" The hatred Lin Yiming had felt towards Liu Yuliang, which had slightly diminished due to his gratitude towards Qin Lao, flared up again. Looking at Qin Lao, Lin Yiming suddenly had a better idea to deal with Liu Yuliang. If Liu Yuliang could find people to target him, he could also find people to target Liu Yuliang.

"Qin Lao, I have a favor to ask. Can we post tasks in the Appraisal Alliance? I want to post a task to help me."

"What task, Yiming? Just say it." Qin Lao stopped and gestured for Lin Yiming to speak.

"Killing, I want to kill Liu Yuliang of the Liu family. I want to post this task as a Master Appraiser. Whoever can help me kill Liu Yuliang, I will appraise three items for them. If I can’t appraise the items now, I will continue to appraise them until I can. Moreover, I will owe them a favor, and I will try to help them in the future if I can."

Lin Yiming spoke coldly. He wasn’t afraid that Qin Lao would offend the Liu family by posting the task. The Appraisal Alliance was just posting the task, and it wouldn’t be related to them. No one would cause trouble for them. As for whether anyone would take the task, he wasn’t worried at all.

In the past, everyone thought he was just a Great Appraiser. Now, he was posting the task as a Master Appraiser. At just sixteen years old, a Master Appraiser’s promise was a bright future. His promise would definitely attract many experts to complete the task!

Qin Lao’s beard twitched, and his white eyebrows raised, looking at Lin Yiming with confusion. "Why do you suddenly want to post a task to kill Liu Yuliang? Do you have a conflict with him?" He had never heard of any enmity between Lin Yiming and Liu Yuliang.

"My enmity with him is great." Lin Yiming’s face was cold, as if a layer of frost had formed on it. "Liu Yuliang did many things to my village in the past. But let’s not talk about that. This time, you probably don’t know, but there was no real treasure to appraise. It was all fake. Bai Tong was actually sent by Liu Yuliang to kill me. Because we had a past, he was afraid I would seek revenge, so he tried to kill me in every way possible!"

"What, such a thing happened? What exactly happened on this trip? Yiming, tell me everything." Qin Lao was shocked again.

"That day, we... " Lin Yiming omitted the part about absorbing the demon spirit and obtaining the Broken Tooth Golden Elephant’s tusk from Sun Pingyang. After all, one shouldn’t reveal one’s wealth, and with so many people around, it could cause trouble if the wrong person heard. He then briefly recounted his experiences in the Yuanyang Mountains, including the conflict between his family and Liu Yuliang.

"So it was all Liu Yuliang’s doing. This man is truly lawless. He threatens people who don’t want to marry him and sends people to harm you. This task must be posted, I will post it right away." Qin Lao was so angry that his beard was bristling, and he seemed even more furious than Lin Yiming!

Qin Lao was about to post the task when a voice interrupted.

"Chairman, you might not want to post the task. Liu Yuliang is no longer in our town."

"Not in the town? When did he leave, and where did he go?" Qin Lao looked towards the source of the voice and saw that it was another appraiser from the Appraisal Alliance, who was also the most well-informed appraiser.

"He left early yesterday morning. It’s said he’s heading to Fire City to prepare for the selection examination at Qi Wang Academy."

"Liu Yuliang left?" Lin Yiming was shocked. The bastard left at just the right time. Fire City, it seems he also wants to go to Qi Wang Academy.

Since I can’t find him here, I’ll go to Fire City to kill him!

Lin Yiming looked at the sky and saw that it was already late. After hesitating for a moment, he said, "It’s late, and Liu Yuliang left early yesterday. Even if I chase after him now, I won’t catch up. I don’t need to rush today. I’ll leave tomorrow and go to Fire City. One, to seek revenge on Liu Yuliang, and two, to take the examination for Qi Wang Academy."

As he spoke, Lin Yiming bowed deeply to Qin Lao and pleaded, "Qin Lao, after I leave, I hope you can take care of my sister and our village."

"Rest assured!" Qin Lao’s eyes, which didn’t seem particularly bright, suddenly shone with determination. "As long as I am in Maple Bridge Town, I will ensure your family and your village are safe!"

Lin Yiming didn’t expect Qin Lao to say such a solemn promise, and he was deeply moved, not knowing how to express his gratitude. He placed his hands in front of him, about to bow, but Qin Lao stopped him.

"Alright, Yiming, let’s not say so much. When you get to Qi Wang Academy, remember to write letters back often. We need to keep in touch. Remember, you promised to participate in the appraiser competition held by the main branch of the Appraisal Alliance."

"Yes, Qin Lao, rest assured, I won’t forget. I will represent our town in the appraiser competition and show those who look down on our Appraisal Alliance how capable we are."

Lin Yiming and Qin Lao talked for a while longer before leaving with Xiaoguoguo and Sun Pingyang.

"Sun Brother, is there something you need?" Lin Yiming looked at Sun Pingyang curiously. Since they returned to the town, it was clear that Sun Pingyang had something to say.

"Yes, there is something." Sun Pingyang hesitated for a moment, as if struggling with something in his mind. After a long time, he looked at Lin Yiming with determination and said, "Yiming, do you need a follower? I want to follow you."

"Ah, follow me?" Lin Yiming was taken aback, a bit confused. "Sun Brother, after I return, I won’t be in as much danger, and I won’t need your protection. Besides, I’m going to Qi Wang Academy, so I don’t need protection."

"No, you didn’t understand. I said follower." Sun Pingyang explained, "I want to go to Qi Wang Academy. Since I started learning martial arts, my father has always instilled in me the idea that Qi Wang Academy is the best place for martial arts. I’ve always wanted to enter Qi Wang Academy."

"If that’s the case, Sun Brother, why don’t you take the examination?" Lin Yiming was getting more and more confused.

"I want to take the examination for Qi Wang Academy, but in the past, my strength wasn’t enough. By the time I became a Blood Soul Transformation, I was already too old to meet the academy’s age requirements. So I can’t go to Qi Wang Academy. The only way for me to enter is to become someone’s follower."
