"Is the principal here?"
There was a knock on the door outside the office.
Principal Jiang Dingguo of Zhixing Middle School was writing a speech for the upcoming school opening, but he couldn't get it done after a long time. Now, being interrupted, he felt extremely annoyed and frowned, saying:
"Just wait, I'm very busy."
"Okay."
Hearing this voice, Jiang Dingguo became even more irritated. Scratching his head, he couldn't write anymore. He was deeply resentful that someone outside the door had interrupted his train of thought.
After waiting for two or three minutes, Zhang Jue, who had run out of patience, knocked on the door again: "Principal, can I come in?"
Jiang Dingguo slapped the table and shouted at the door: "I told you to wait, so wait. Come in when I call you."
As soon as he finished speaking, a young man in a windbreaker, about twenty-two or twenty-three years old, whom he had never seen before, pushed the door open and walked in.
"Didn't I tell you to wait? Do you have ears? What do you do? Who are you? Out, out."
Jiang Dingguo immediately flew into a rage, crumpled the waste paper on the desk into a ball and threw it into the trash can, then kept slapping the desk, his face full of disgust.
Zhang Jue smiled indifferently: "Hello, my name is Zhang Jue. I am the newly appointed vice-principal sent by the organization. Principal Jiang, right? Nice to meet you, please take care of me in the future."
"Ah?"
Jiang Dingguo was stunned again. Wasn't Liu Ge appointed as the vice-principal? Why did it change to someone else? How did he not know?
Zhang Jue knew he didn't believe him and smiled, taking out the appointment letter. Jiang Dingguo, half-believing and half-doubting, opened it and looked. The appointment letter was fine, but why didn't he know in advance?
"You..."
Just as Jiang Dingguo was about to say something, the wooden door of the office was pushed open, and four or five security guards, led by Yang Xianfeng, walked in one after another.
Yang Xianfeng pointed at Zhang Jue's nose and shouted: "Principal, don't be fooled, this guy is a fraud."
Jiang Dingguo's eyes widened, having no clue. A fraud? What does he want? Then, Jiang Dingguo understood. It must be the start of the school year, and a parent was pretending to be the vice-principal to seek favor.
This was the only reason that could explain it. But Jiang Dingguo didn't have time to think it through. If this was the reason, would it work? The lie was too easy to expose.
Then, Yang Xianfeng walked up to Zhang Jue, scowled, and grabbed Zhang Jue's collar, shouting: "Get out. How dare you impersonate a leader? Hey, you even dare to glare at me? I warn you, don't force us to get rough with you."
Zhang Jue, whose collar was grabbed, immediately turned cold, pushed Yang Xianfeng's hand away, and said coldly: "I advise you to figure out what's going on first."
Yang Xianfeng, pushed back, was startled. This fraudster had such strength; his hand was numb.
The security guard who had blocked Zhang Jue at the door immediately stepped forward, drew a rubber baton, and pointed it at Zhang Jue: "I knew you were a fraud. I lured you in. You can't escape. You even dared to assault Director Yang? Will you surrender or do we have to take action?"
Zhang Jue was really a bit angry this time. Nothing had happened yet, and he was already accused of assaulting Director Yang.
He sat down on the sofa, his voice deep: "Fraudster? You don't recognize the seal on the appointment letter?"
Yang Xianfeng took a few steps forward, picked up the appointment letter from the desk, and looked at it, then laughed coldly and tore it into pieces. He threw the shredded paper at Zhang Jue: "Appointment letter? Seal? What a bold move, forging the seal of a government agency. I tell you, kid, forging a government seal will land you in jail for a long time."
Zhang Jue watched the appointment letter turn into confetti and fall in front of him, sighed, and said nothing. But the look in his eyes when he looked at Director Yang was like looking at a dead man.
Seeing the vice-principal take the lead, the security guards knew it was time to show off. They shouted: "Didn't you hear me tell you to get out? Do you want me to force you?"
One of them rushed forward and kicked Zhang Jue.
Zhang Jue snorted coldly, grabbed the foot with one hand, and punched the security guard's leg with the other.
"Ah!!"
The security guard immediately let out a pig-like scream and fell to the ground, his leg likely broken.
The sudden turn of events stunned everyone. Jiang Dingguo, furious, slammed his hand on the desk: "Ridiculous, grab him. How dare he assault a school security guard."
Yang Xianfeng also shouted sternly: "All together, this fraudster knows martial arts."
The security guards looked at each other, not daring to step forward. One move and the leg was broken; how could they deal with such a fierce person?
Not daring to step forward, they just shouted: "You dared to assault a public institution's security guard. Kid, you're finished. I advise you to surrender immediately."
"Better stay here and don't move, or my rubber baton isn't a joke."
"You've caused a big trouble. Even if you have great skills, you'll still end up in jail."
"..."
The security guards shouted, but they didn't act. They weren't stupid; they earned two thousand yuan a month and didn't need to risk their lives.
Jiang Dingguo, trembling with anger: "Ridiculous, ridiculous. You dared to use violence? Xianfeng, call Chief Chen immediately. What's going on? Is the security of Jiangbei still salvageable? Criminals are committing violence in the school."
These words were extremely harsh, and in a few sentences, he had labeled Zhang Jue as a "criminal who committed violence in the school." It was clear that Jiang Dingguo intended to deal with Zhang Jue severely.
Yang Xianfeng laughed coldly: "Principal, don't worry, he won't escape. Chief Chen is on his way."
As he spoke, the door was pushed open again, and a middle-aged man in a police uniform, leading a team of officers, walked in.
He first looked around the room, then at Zhang Jue, who was calmly sitting on the sofa, and immediately became furious:
"Ridiculous, you dared to assault someone? Arrest him."
As he spoke, several officers moved forward. Yang Xianfeng, as if he had found his backbone, rushed to the middle-aged police officer and shouted:
"Chief Chen, this is serious. This kid not only impersonated but also assaulted someone. He even demanded ten thousand yuan for security fees from our school, threatening to prevent the school from opening if we didn't pay. He also said no one here could leave today. Fortunately, I was smart and reported it to you before entering the room."
Zhang Jue frowned. Honestly, he never expected this person to accuse him of extortion. He felt a chill, thinking that as a leader in the education system, there was no integrity, only the skill to frame and slander.
Chief Chen, hearing this, slammed his hand on the table: "Dare to threaten a public institution? Arrest him!"
The officers were about to act, but Zhang Jue suddenly stood up, startling them, thinking he was going to resist.
Zhang Jue looked around coldly and asked Jiang Dingguo: "I'll ask you again, is what he said true?" pointing at Yang Xianfeng's nose.
Jiang Dingguo, feeling uneasy under Zhang Jue's gaze, though he also disliked Yang Xianfeng's excessive framing, felt he should stand by his colleague:
"Hmph, arrogant criminal, do you have the nerve to ask me?"
Zhang Jue sighed, and when he looked at Jiang Dingguo again, his eyes were filled with pity.
"Fine, I won't explain. Chief Chen, right? Lead the way, I'll go with you. By the way..."
He paused, then looked at Yang Xianfeng and Jiang Dingguo: "In a few hours, you might have to invite me back."
He snorted and walked out, hands behind his back. The officers, not daring to be negligent, followed closely.
"Ha, what a joke, once you're in, you'll never get out." Yang Xianfeng laughed in anger.
Chief Chen didn't speak, but his heart was uneasy. This guy didn't show the usual emotions of a criminal being arrested; instead, he was calm and composed. He had a premonition that he might have taken on a hot potato.
After a moment's thought, Chief Chen decided to investigate this kid's identity first, not to act rashly. If trouble arose, there would still be room for maneuver.
Zhang Jue didn't argue further, hands behind his back, and walked out confidently. The officers, not stupid, saw that Chief Chen seemed to have some concerns and didn't dare to handcuff him, just followed closely.
"Chief Chen, such a brazen criminal must not be let go. You are the protector of Jiangbei's security, you can't let a single bad person go."
Yang Xianfeng chased after and said.
This flattery hit the wrong spot. Chief Chen was deep in thought about Zhang Jue's identity and regretted coming in person. Yang Xianfeng, the one who reported, came up to him. He turned around and said coldly: "The protector of Jiangbei's security is the police chief, I'm just the chief of the police station."
"Uh..."
Yang Xianfeng laughed awkwardly and added with a hint of meaning: "This guy impersonated the vice-principal, and the real vice-principal will take office in a few days, he is the... education bureau chief's... hehe."
Chief Chen paused and said: "I know."
Watching Zhang Jue get into the police car and be taken away, Yang Xianfeng sighed in relief. He felt he had handled the matter well, showing loyalty to the incoming "vice-principal." That was a person with connections to the education bureau chief. If he could get on well with him, his promotion would be just around the corner.
Back in the office, Yang Xianfeng noticed that Jiang Dingguo's expression was a bit off and asked with a smile: "Principal Jiang, what's wrong?"
Jiang Dingguo frowned, tapping his fingers on the desk, muttering: "I feel like something bad is about to happen, but I can't figure out what."
